What we need - "Pose-Smoother-Correction"

So, what I think what we need is something like a "Pose-Smoother-Correction-tool" or morphs. There was something like that for V4 created by Ironman 13 named "Overhaul for DS". Even G3F is very good in bending there are still some regions of the body with problems if it comes to specific poses.

One region is the hip - thigh region. If the G3F character is a bit more "chubby" you get problems with some poses (some dancing poses and/or super Heroine poses for example - mostly if the thigh gets bend forward or sideways)

So smoothing or correction morphs, something like that would be usefull. Sure you can raise the values for the mesh smoothing but then you get problems with clothes for example. So better would be a morph pack that is equal to the "overhaul for DS" created for V4 by Ironman 13.

The thing is that that if the character is a bit more chubby than these superslim models the region of the thighs, pelvis and lower abdomen is a problem.

Other regions:

Knees, elbows, shoulders (like allways)

I have something like this in the works, but I am not giving details until it is close to completion:)

ah okay, I do not know if you know I13`s overhaul for daz (for V4) but in this morph-pack there are some good morphs for "problem regions". What I mean with the hip-thigh region is, if your G3F has a bit more thicker thighs and you bend them to the side or front you get bad results with the hip, so maybe it is possible to create a morph that can prevent such bad results.

Yes I am aware of that and a few other products that address the same issue.

Not wishing to tread on your toes, Zev, but is it right that we need to buy morphs to fix what should work in the original model? I speak as someone who has bought most of your catalogue and appreciate your talent.

Depends on how you look at it. What one views as broken or needing to be fixed another might not have an issue with it. Personally half the time users complain about something, I don't experience it and I don't even own half of the mods released to fix such percieved issues. There is no such thing as perfection and it would be interesting to see a figure that was able to take every single modification into account upon release. I tend to be thankful for what I do get and for any products that help with what I want to do, like those from Zevo and others.

That`s is what I have critizied on these new figures on and on and on and I got cut down here in the forums for my critical comments.

well but some issues on bendings if the model is not as slim as these slim and skinny models you can buy here are well known since V4.2 and normaly if you start a new technology and starting with new figures old issues should be fixed...but that is how it should be not like it is. Nothing is fixed on the thigh/hip region (bending thighs forward or sideways)

I don't have any of the G3F characters so I can only talk about G2F. However, the thing that used to drive me nuts about V4 was the flat front thigh when she crouched. That is nowhere near as bad with G2F so some things have improved.

Nevertheless, I have bought many of Zev's morphs as well as Beautiful Bends for G2F because I want my figures to look as natural as possible. I just don't understand why a PA can see and improve bending but the in-house designers can't.

The only time I see problems with posing 'chubby' figure is when I push the pose beyond what realistically someone of that size could do.

There is only so much time and resources that can be spent on the base mesh.  Especially since its given away for free.  After that, additional morph and shapes will follow and it will cost to get them but that is normal in life.  If this was your only job and you made the additional morphs, you'd want to get paid for it too.  And when I say "you", I am not refering to anyone in particular or trying to shoot anyone down.  I can see the customers persepctive but its not always easy to see someone elses perspective when we have not walked in their shoes.

Given away for free is something bandied around a lot here. I agree that what I get with DAZ Studio for free is preferable to what I paid for with Poser 10. I just can't work with Poser so I regret having spent money on it.

However, DAZ have a marketing strategy just like a supermarket has and the free software and base content is their loss leader. It draws in customers who buy the commercial content. I don't object to that - it is my hobby and I spend most of my meagre pocket money here. But there are times when marketing appears to be too heavily weighted in favour of profit. I have not yet seen anything to convince me that G3 can be something that G2 can't. That's why I have all the G2F morph packages - to give me that realism and flexibility. Why should I start all over again and buy a V7 and her sisters and then buy more morph packs to find the realism I want (and probably already have)?

Well the bendings of G3 is better than the bendings of G2, that is what I think is the huge difference I think. I have both, so G3 is way better on that, but could be much better than it is right now. That is the reason why I want a bending correction tool or bending correction morphs like the overhaul by I13 for V4.

I haven`t stoped buying stuff for G2 and head to G3. But what is a really bad thing is that we can`t use most of V4 content (clothing) There are lot of people here saying that with the correct tools this is no problem but it is, I have all these tools and converters but I can`t use every clothing item I have especially if it comes to pants and panties. Tops are working well but panties not.
