There may be a closer model for what you are looking for, but FWSA Jenna isn't that far off from Melissa's face.  You'd need to buy Ophelia 7 as well though.

Depending on how many face morphs you have at your disposal, this may not be a bad place to start.

You'd essentially drop the outside corners of the eyes to be about even with the inside corners, widen/fill out the middle of the nose and make the nostrils a little taller/rounder, and then make the lips thinner and wider,  possibly lowering the mouth slightly.  Maybe make the top of her skull a little more round to match as well  Lose the cleft in the chin, and yeah I think Jenna would work.  Jenna's jaw and cheek structure looks very close to Melissa's, hence why I'm seeing possibilities here.

Jenna's skin is a little darker, but that may just be the lighting.  There may be some surface tweaks to color, etc. that may help with that.  Jenna would also need a breast reduction, and perhaps a few other basic size adjustments, but that's pretty easy to do in Daz (several morphs for that).

This may be more work than you are looking for though.

There is probably a closer match, but that's the one that jumped out at me right off.  If I spot anything closer, I'll let you know, or if anyone else has suggestions...

Cailin, I think,  the nose is close but needs more fullness in the tip of it.

Cupid bow lips need to be added and the reverse of almond eyes added as well.

Upper lip hieght needs to be reduced and a bit of square needs to be added to the jaw.

Georgia's over all face looks right but the nose and lips are wrong.

    Just my humble suggestions. :)

OK, I took a crack at this. I have a LOT of morphs at my disposal.

I used GDN Kelly, who in turn requires Victoria 7 and Genesis 3 Female Head Morphs.  You'll probably want Vic 7 in your collection anyways if you don't have her yet.

I set Kelly's head at 100%, and Genesis 3 Female Head at 100%  Then I started nudging things around with various morphs, starting with some Quickface Morphs and then using other morphs I've acquired here and some free ones I've found on Rendo and ShareCG. Skin tones are GDN Kelly's with some minor color tweaks.  I used Long Shag Hair because it's the closest I have to the base photo, but you'd probably want to get Streaming Hair or some other hairdo for SG.

Here is how far I've gotten so far:

Still a number of minor adjustments that are needed, but if you want to attempt this using the morphs route, just showing you what's possible.  I like to exercise my face building skills, so this was mainly for fun and to increase my Daz skills.  The cheeks could use some more nudging (it's a balancing act), that's probably the one area I'm struggling with the most morph wise, but you get the idea here.

Melissa's .jpg is INSIDE of Daz Studio in the render above, on a plane (create a plane primitive, then set the base color texture to Melissa's JPG, and resize the plane to match the dimensions of the original .jpg using x and y scaling, then use the universal scale to size it to match your G3F figure's size for comparison purposes).  This makes it easier to compare faces side by side while you are working.

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing a way to identify all of the different morph packages I have that I've used/installed.  Morphs are on the top of the list of things I snag, for this very reason (making new and intersting faces, or replicating faces).

    Greetings,

@tj_1ca9500b You could potentially screenshot the 'Currently Used' section of Shaping to get a view of at least what you used to get there, even if it doesn't name all the products that are underlying the various morphs.

I was playing with this for fun but then I discovered that the skin I used is a merchant resource, so are the morph packets, so I'm thinking of creating a complete character (can't release it as a freebie unfortunately as the skin resource does not allow it so it will be commercial).

Here's the first one I made, it's built on another character preset though so I'll have to recreate it without that preset, but that should be doable.

Just some suggestions. Strengthen the depth of the Philtrum slightly. Slightly enlarge the eyes and raise the nose JUST A SMIDGE!

    They all look WONDERFUL!

Thanks for sharing your work, guys! :)

I'll have to paste together a few screenshots for that.  Even for just faces, I have several hundred morphs... and a tiny 13.5" screen so not many show up at a time.

OK, so I photoshopped together my morph sliders.  In the attached image, I used a blue background so that you can see the 'breaks' in the morph list where there was a separation of at least 2-3 unused morphs, in an attempt to make the 'used' morphs easier to spot.  It's a pretty wide image, and is 1080 pixels in height.  Where I jumped to the next columh, I tried to duplicate the last morph in the previous column if they were in sequence.

I could have sworn that there was a Genesis 3 face slider that I used along with GDN Kelly, but I'm not seeing it.  The Genesis 2 Face slider is at -100%, so maybe that was it.

A number of these morphs get set along with GDN Kelly, etc. so the first place you should start is GDN Kelly (at 100%), and setting Genesis 2 Face at -100% (if not there already), and should you spot the Genesis 3 face slider, well I remember setting one by that name at +100%...As I mentioned before, I've downloaded a LOT of morph packages, so odds are slim that you'll have all of these morphs.  You may be able to find other morphs that do essentially the same thing.  I didn't touch Victoria 7, but it is set at 38.6%, so GDN Kelly may have dialed in that one.

I feel that I still need to tweak Melissa's face some more to get it dialed in better, but this shows how I got to where you see her in the viewport.  I still haven't taken a close look at her profile/side view, that probably needs a few tweaks as well to match her side view better, but I haven't bothered to go looking for a good profile shot.

I don't think I could package this if I wanted to, due to the sheer number of morph packages involved (you'd have to have all of them), but maybe someone can simplify this a bit (use fewer, Daz product related morphs) and release their own.  It's probably good to have some subtle differences anyways, so that you aren't using an exact likeness (potential copyright issues?  Does Melissa own her own face and likenesses thereof?  I don't really know how this part of copyright law works).

It looks like Taoz is planning to do exactly that.  Looking at his pic, something seems slightly off, but I can't put my finger on it.  Maybe the face is too wide?  Or maybe the skull above the eyes is too short.  It looks really good regardless.  Mine isn't dead on either, but then that's the fun of trying to dial in faces.  Also, Taoz may be working with a different reference pic, which can result in a number of differences, and different people will focus on different details even when looking at the same pic (no two people see things exactly the same way).

    Hope this helps!

PS: Note that Melissa definitely does NOT have a GDN Kelly Body.  Maybe a Cathy body, but bodies are usually much easier to dial in than faces, even with the 'basic' set of morphs.

I've had some thoughts about this actually. I don't know how big an issue copyright is when it comes to copying private people, there's quite a few celebrities that have been "converted" to 3D models and just sold under different names without any references to the reference person, in which case it's probably hard to prove that you have copied that particular person. You probably can't create any reasonably normal looking 3D character anyway without it having a very close resemblance to one or more persons somewhere on this planet.

I've realized though that personally I don't feel good about intentionally copying any living person, no matter who or what they are, as a 3D model, and sell or distribute that model, without their explicit wishes or consent. So for that reason I've dropped the project. I wouldn't mind creating a model of Supergirl, even with a close resemblance to Melissa, as Supergirl is a fictive character which is a different story or context, but I fear there might be some copyright issues here so I have no plans for that either.

You should always use a neutral picture (no smiling or other expressions, or makeup) as a starting point, when morphing the basic character.

I have been working on a Teen Spiderman and Teen Supergirl for a few weeks now. I recenbtly switched the hair on my model and I found a Melissa Benoist look-alike staring back at me.

I took an other crack at my Melissa face.  I think I have her dialed in more closely now, although I still need to make some additional subtle tweaks:  The cheekbones need some minor adjustments, as does the area between the eyes, and I'm sure there are a few others.  I feel like I have her eyes, nose, chin, and mouth dialed in fairly close here, although some additional subtle tweaks may help.

Needs more inner eye depth to either side of the nose. the tip of the nose, the upper part of the nostril and the lower lip need a little more fullness. Eyes need to be a little larger and more widely spaced apart.

I would also do a straight on render and profile render and see if you can lay them over each other in photoshop.

Great goin;, btw! You are getting there at light speed. :)

That's one thing I've noticed about the Face copying scripts, the chins are always way off and that in turn keeps me from seeing beyond that to see what else might be wrong.

The chin is where I had so much trouble with FaceGen and Carrie Fisher too. The chine looked much too small and typical compared to Carrie's real chin.

OK, so I've been perusing the Daz hair library, trying to pick out the most 'Melissa Benoist'-ish hair.

Florida Hair has been the best I've been able to come up with so far:

Melissa's hair (when not in a ponytail) tends to twist a bit as it cascades to either side.  She also tends to favor parting her hair on the right side, rather than in the centerline, although I've ceen a center part in one or two promo shots for SG.

The hair I used in the render a couple of posts above is Radiant Jaguar, which seems to work well down to about the ears, but doesn't have any significant twist or curliness below.  It does have some slight twist options, but nothing close to how Melissa's hair often looks/curls around itself as it cascades down.  It's also Genesis 1 era, so it has a little less detail then the more recent products.

As for Alex Danvers/Chyler Leigh, this product in the Daz library looks fairly close to Alex's hairstyle:

There may be closer matches for Alex's hair.  Ireland Hair (the hair shown in pic above) is on sale at the moment...

Back to SG, Any hair suggestions?  Jolina Hair dosn't look that close as far as how the hair parts/wraps above the eyes, although it has the proper 'curliness' around the neckline.  Friday Hair is too straight.  Same for Charm Hair and Windswept HairStreaming Hair is suggested in a couple of promo shots, but is too straight and frizzy, maybe for flying shots... Thoughts?

I started to work on SG's outfit, and felt the need to share what I have so far.  I need to find better boots, and this is very much an early WIP (my machine renders rather slowly, this is a partial Iray render, 70 minutes/22%)..

The cape needs to be nudged downwards slightly so that it rests on shoulders rather than 'hovering' and a couple of other tweaks are needed as well (more wind needed in the cape, minor face/skin tweaks, etc.).  The bodysuit I am currently using has some 'seams' in it, that are slightly distracting and that disrupt the 'hexagonal' texture, but it's the only G3F bodysuit I have at the moment.. Ideally, the sleeves should 'loop' around the thumbs as well if I want to more accurately duplicate the TV SG's outfit, but the bodysuit I'm using doesn't have gloves..  I haven't acquired a better match for Melissa's hair at the moment (pinching my pennies).  The face is close to Melissa's, but not quite there.  However, I"m actually rather happy with the face at the moment, it has character.  Just wanted to share!
