40's hair

in The Commons
Hi all,
I am working on a project that will need a variety of hair props that are in the 1940's style. They need to be for white, black, and latina. I'm attaching a few pictures as examples. I know AprilYSH has a lot of amazing hair figures, quite a few matching my needs perfectly in style, but not in cost. I'm looking for freebies, or hair that's under $5. Otherwise I'll have to put this project on hold for a while and wait until I'm not broke.
Thanbks for any suggestions posted!

One cheap way to make some so-so hair for personal use is to take a screenshot from a movie like The Best Years Of Our Lives; try to catch Myrna Loy just the way you want her, then transplant the saved 2-D hair image onto your rendered DAZ figure. Retouching black and white is a lot easier than colour!
Maybe you need to have a Paypal "donate" button for micro-donations... I forget if it is ok to ask someone to render hair for you as a separate object on a transparent layer, in a "certain position" and angle.
I need an actual poseable hair, but thanks.
Actually there is a person that uploaded a bunch of 1700s & 1800s womens hair styles on shagecg.com but i can't remember the name of the poster or of the hair styles. I'd suggesst a search on Bing or Google for just the domain sharecg.com & 1800, 1840 1850 hairstyle poser daz and see what it comes up with. You should find the hair models I'm talking about.
Also in the Freebies section of these forums is a thread entirely devoted to freebie hair.
AprilYSH, Emma and Jordi and PropsChick all have done things in that era. I think Goldtassel has as well. Some are on this site and another bunch are on Rendo. All of them have been doing this for quite a while, so their stores are all pretty large. 3Dream and Mairy also have large stores and have probbly done something which would qualify. Possibly in one of the morphs, since their hairs usually have quite a few of them.
Mankahoo (Ali) is another vendor with an extensive catalogue. For that, it would be best of check his own site.
You might want to uncheck the hide products I own box. Sometimes people forget what they already own.
I actually forgot about looking on Rendo... might be because I've had several instances where I was looking for something and it just didn't come up.
I don't want to knock this or that web page but some of them (especially major newspapers like the N.Y. Times, the Toronto Star, that sort of thing) appear to have wacky indexes. Just now I typed "hair forties 1940's" -- without the quotes -- on Rendo and it came back zero results for hair forties 1940'/s (sic) <-- notice the added slash character which appears to have materialized out of nowhere.
At first I thought I'd entered a typo, my bad etc., but I repeated the query a couple of times - exact same results each time. That is so weird! Worse, entering "hair forties" brought up a latex texture set, some silk underwear and an "armored skirt" by Sickley---d.
Good news: entering just "hair" without the quotes in the "Old Search" actually brought up one or two items under $5. The bad news is you have to sift through tons of unrelated stuff to get to them; try and figure that one out.
Bottom line: a user may have to look very carefully for this stuff.
I know GoldTassel has early 20th Century hair styles. OP I think can get some of them via the PC+ but will prabably want to rework the shaders to look good in iRay.
-I do have some of GoldTassel's PC+ items, just added some more to the wish list for later. I will look at the other vendor's suggested.
-I will check ShareCG again, I find searches difficult if I don't have an artist name. Will also check Rendo.
-I debated about posting this in the freebie section or the PC+ of the forum, but I did n't want two threads and I am open to suggestions that are either free or cheap. I though one post in the commons was a good compromise.
- I was doing a search on daz hair, price low-high, and had it showing the items I owned included and was swifting through that while waiting for replies to this thread.
Thanks again!
Have a look on this gallery. There are some hairs that could work
