What's the difference between primed and single color?
Hello
Good question.
There very similar in terms of time to manufacture and costs. But the Primed model is finshed with a special paint a Primer that allows you to paint or color in your own model. The single color on the other hand is usually finished in a special color that includes (Grey, Black, Gold, and Broonze). The single color is very hard to hand paint over and is usually ready for showcasing.

If you'd throw in a single colour $50 instead of the primed version, I'd be game (if that's all the same to you in matters of costs&production time).
Seriously, though... I keep looking at this fantastic character figure your team, and can't keep from smiling happily. It's like the character climbed out of that story.
I'm going to take advantage of that generous 7 inch standard offer for one more figure. Putting it together now, and hope to have it done and posed for the weekend.
Hey Bee,
The offer is both on Single color and on primed. So totally make use of it!
We're happy to hear that you enjoying your last model and wait and see the other 2 we are working on now!
If you'd throw in a single colour $50 instead of the primed version, I'd be game (if that's all the same to you in matters of costs&production time).
How long will this sale last? And is there any update on the miniatures beta?
is so tempting, I got the email and love my figure I have already
sadly I need a new washing machine and car tyres more
I got this answered in an email I'll share here:
"We are almost about to launch miniatures, and planning to do so around 1st of January.
The deal is valid until the 26 of December 017."
I have a question... The shipments currently come with a 10% off voucher, but I'm not sure if the date printed on them is to be read US (MM-DD-YYYY) or international (DD-MM-YYYY) style?
For example, if the date says, 01/03/2018, is that 3rd of January, or 1st of March?
Hey Bee,
Thanks for letting us know, we will make those a little more clearer.
Our vouchers are in (MM-DD-YYYY) format.
Sorry for the confusion, we will update them.
Mike

Hi Mike,
thank you for the information. I'm going to put the vouchers to good use.
Thats interesting, I have one here "Valid Till 16/12/2018" .......
will there be a 16th Month next year ???
Maybe it's valid until a year 2018 shows up that does have a 16th month?
I reckon it's only valid in the UK, as that is the proper way to show a date.
for everyone interested in "single color" and asking themselves what that will look like ...
here´s a "sneak peek" image of my last order, GamePrint send me previous to shipping
Is there any documentation on how this works? What is a node? What does that mean?
Is there any way to see what I'll get before I attempt an upload? So far I've had it fail repeatedly with no errors, and I still have no idea what it'll look like when I succeed.
A node is the "top" of the hierachie in the scene tab. For example, you want to upload a G3F with clothes that are parented to the G3F. In the scene tab, you'd just see the G3F, but not the clothes parented to it. Your node to select in this case would then be G3F. Or, if you have several items (twi G8M and a motorbike for example), the easiest way to upload that would be to put everything intro a group, and then select the group as the top node.
If you scroll down here, they have a step by step how-to: https://daz3d.gameprint.net/help
As for "error" what do you consider an error? The upload can take a while (the updated version of the plugin now has information how much mb still needs to be uploaded). When the Gameprint Website opens, and shows you the "order" page, the file has been uploaded successfully. The screen that shows the processed figure is usually black and "processing"; when it's done processing, you will see a 360 degree rotatable image similar to the DS preview window. But that doesn't always come up in time. You then upload renders of the figure from all directions to help the artists who will paint the figure.
To "see what you get", that's not possible, as the final result is the painter's artistic impression.
Example for a 7 inch standrad figure: Here's my 3D rendered version "my input"
Here's the upload. You see on the top the images I rendered and uploaded for the artists. At the bottom you see the 3D rotating image.
And here's how it looks after print and with the artist's painting:
With more complicated images, it usually looks like this:
OK... So... I finally uploaded, and its showing textures with the wrong UV maps, and no displacements maps, so it doesn't look even close to the render.
Yes, that's why I said that the 360 degree is not what you'll get in the end, but the artist will use your pictures. Check out my images above for comparision, they also look nothing like the render.
But you can always contact the GamePrint guys if you have doubt that the model is okay before ordering.
Hey UHF,
Yes our artists will use your pictures as a reference to the final detailing!
I am starting to prep a figure for upload and I am wondering what kind of lighting would be best for rendering for the artist on your side to view. Thank you
This still doesn't answer my questions. Please read what I say. The GamePrint PRIMER version of the mini has a different surface from the render. The GamePrint render does not show displacement maps. At this point I still have no idea what the final model will look like.. or more succinctly; The GamePrint web site is showing a model that is different from the render.
Lastly.. I noticed that the image transfer added back invisible objects, and I don't know what to do about that. I removed them for several reasons.. one of which is that they will be a pain to print, and keep on the models.. and likely break. (I'm OK with removal.. Not a problem... but I still don't know how to get the model I want.)
The site shows what was exported from Daz and because of that we use render references that you supply for our production to make sure things are right, the renders are your expectations and we work according to your expectations, our production team will let you know what we will be producing based on the 3D model and your references so they will communicte with you to make sure everything is alright and definitly you can ask them to keep you posted and what you would like to see and what not through our messaging channel once you place your order.
So please feel free to add all rendered images during the checkout process in addition to the model, in this case we will send you pictures of the model after fixing and before printing to make sure the displacement map is extracted on the surface.
What did you use to make them invisible? Did you go to the surface and set cutout opacity to zero? That won't work. You instead need to use geometry editor to turn off the surface.
I was thinking of having a couple of starships printed and have a few questions. In the two renders below extended the landing gear to make it (hopefully) easier to print. I was wondering:
1. Does anything look like it'll be difficult to print?
2. With the landing gear down, do the models still need a base or will the landing gear be enough?
3. Is there anything I could do to make the printing easier?
Thanks,
Walt Sterdan
Hey Walt,
Happy to reconnect with you again. Below are the answers to your questions.
1. Does anything look like it'll be difficult to print?
Not at all, all the parts are very basic and should be quickly out of the printer.
2. With the landing gear down, do the models still need a base or with the landing gear be enough?
That's entirely up to you; we make them without a base if that is your preference.
3. Is there anything I could do to make the printing easier?
The best assessment we can give your ships comes after the upload and request it to be a collectible. Our team will then inspect everything in the spaceship and get back to you if alterations need to be made.
The ships look awesome, and we look forward to bringing them to life!
I feel like there's something completely missing in this conversation. You are not answering any questions. I'm baffled.
I grayed the textures in my render so its directly comparable to the Primer version on your website. They are different.
