Octane Render Plugin Advice? any experienced users?

I use Octane for many other programs like Cinema 4d due to it's speed. I recently got into daz this past month and i've been playing with thide wide range of resources like wet skin plugins and skin builders for very realistic affects in IRAY. But the problem is I find IRAY too slow. So i decided to get Octane for DAZ and obviously i'm having trouble getting matching skin SSS quality results in Octane compared to iRAY. where as in Iray u could simply download a few plugins and get a wide variety of different skin effects, but for octane it doesnt seem to translate all that well.
Are there any experienced users of Octane that can give me some good advice? I'm trying to get some realistic SSS skin effects and muscular bump mapping with a wet/shiny/glossy skin effect for a warrior female pose but I just can't seem to get SSS working in the node editor. I'm not sure which combination of materials could get me the right results at the moment...

i havent used octane in a while, and i was not an expert at it, but i can tell you that, from memory, the SSS is achieved by plugging a scattering medium node into the 'medium' output of the main material node, which from memory the scattering medium color should be set to a blueish color. Combine that with a redish color for transmission and that is the basics of SSS for octane.
the medium output is only available on diffuse and specular materials, so usually octane skin is a layered 'material mix' of diffuse and spec materials to achieve both the SSS and glossiness/specularity of real skin
This thread should help a bit (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/886523/#Comment_886523, there is a rather long discussion on Octane skin shaders there which should get you started. If you want more of a plug and play solution, Redspec TGX SSS miight be worth a look (just google it, it's pretty easy to find).
Hope this helps!
There are some skin materials in the Octane Live DB (under the materials tab) that you just slot your desired textures into - those should give you a steer. Also, over on the Octane forum there is a thread about realistic skin. The most impressive results (imo) are made using tonysculptor's skin shader (also on the Live DB).
