What's your favorite redhead model/skin?

I'm thinking about buying a new model to play a cute, spunky Irish-descended redhead in a project. (I previously picked up Ysabeau but I'm not quite happy with her transfer to G3.) Any suggestions for a good base/starting point?

assuming genesis 3 female and freckles are what you have in mind, i'd recommend:

    changelingchick's reagan.  https://www.daz3d.com/cc-reagan-for-rune-7

    raiya's georgia HD.  https://www.daz3d.com/georgia-hd-for-victoria-7

...not a red head character per se (one can always change that), though she does have the proper fair freckled skin.

    Hi,

Celestia by @Mousso makes a really nice redhead! Celestia comes in both G3 & G8 versions. One other that I use frequently is Peaches and Capris by Draagonstorm. The skin is really wonderful for a redhead with more golden skin tones and freckles.

Edit: Aibell as suggested by @Plant and Raiya's Georgia suggested by @Jardine are also great redheads.

    That's adorable, Kyoto Kid.

..thank you.  Did use just a little bit of the "Growing Up" morphs to give her that younger teen look.  The head shape of the base model was perfect.

  • The one I've used most consistantly with my redhead model is

No freckles, unfortunately, but the skin and makeup textures look pretty good whenever I use them.

Cailin for Victoria 7  and FWSA Finley are two of my favorites.

If you want a really freckled one there is one called Sadie by TwistedMetal over on that "other" store.

I like https://www.daz3d.com/cailin-for-victoria-7, as well plus Dublin from the Metropolitan Collection at Renderosity.  London from the Metropolitan Collection is also good. You will have to use a converter like Texture Transformer, also at Renderosity, to use the texture on G3F & G8F.

....ah, for G8 though.  I would like to know what hair that is in the promo though.

  • This is G8 rather than G3, and perhaps the character is older than what you're looking for, but my all time favorite redhead is Saffy by Ceridwen .

Check out Dublin for G3F's description: "A Beautiful Freckled Irish Character for Genesis 3 Females!!"

There's a well-freckled  Ayuna by Deva3D at rendo. She has a good head shape for an Irish lass, as well.

The bump/normal maps are too strong on some of them as well as the scale of the skin features being too large on some of them. The bump/normals being too strong you can adjust but if the scale (size) of the bump/normal features are too large or too small or the freckles too large or too small that is not something you can fix.

...this is why I usually use SBP3 or the Extreme Closeup Overlays: Freckles for G2F, however, Teen Princess Leila's freckles don't look 'stretched" like some of the others (though I never tried to turn her into a full adult)

I'm waiting to get Skin Builder for Genesis 8 which I understand does freckles, moles, and probably alot of other things I've never heard of.

...as I understand an update is supposedly in the works.

  • Siobhan for G3/G8 over at Renderosity. As you can see in the promo renders, she goes great with red hair.

angel-wings' young g8f character 'ruby' over at renderosity is pretty amazing.  and she definitely has wonderful freckles.

i'd love to see an adult version of the character.  though i fear that the odds may never be in my favor.  :)

angel-wings posted a render of her here.  https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/3806966/#Comment_3806966

randomly, i've been experimenting with divamakeup's incredible altern8 shader system in the context of freckles.  i've only tried applying it to a few g3f textures so far, and am a far cry from having figured out how to nuance it competently.  but the few core preset nomap settings i've tried so far do an amazing job of waking up pre-dual lobe freckled skins.  if there's a downside to the system (and i believe it's a plus, personally), it's that the converted textures pretty much demand that you pay a little extra attention to your lighting.  an HDR that seemed close enough for rock and roll on a pre-conversion freckled skin (pale and freckled or tanned and freckled) is likely to make you cringe in horror and leap for your environments settings and start tweaking your environmental intensity.  or abandon your favorite HDR entirely.  :)

There's a vendor over on Rendo who goes by DTHUREGRIF or DTG Studios who has done several redheads over several generations. Both male and female. He's(?) one of the only vendors that I've seen who actually does that "boiled pink" skintone that a lot of natural redheads have to contend with.

P3Design has done several very attractive freckled redheads over a number of generations as well.

I know @JOdel, I love DTHUREGRIF's redhead characters.  This one is Darcy for G3F with a few modifications.
