After a lot of squabbling, I've managed to get Firefox working with the colors I want it to.  It took some research, but it looks good so far.

Chrome has been acting up, loading pages slowly and hanging Hulu streaming randomly.  Iddly, Hulu looks better streaming on Firefox than Chrome!

We'll see how well FF performs over the next few days...

    Ameditation on chicken parts:

I've seen many a live chicken.  Myy Grand-dads farm had chickens, seen free range chickens in California, seen plenty of chickens at State Fairs, and they all have one thing in common:

They're not giant radioactive mutant chickens.

And yest, I look at the drumsticks I bought:  Three of them made around a pound of chicken.  There are guge, meaty legs, these birds worked out!  And my last pack of chicken thighs came from birds about four feet tall.  One split roasting chicken at the store looked like it had eaten small families to grow up.

Is there a secret species of chicken called Cluckus Giganticus that nobody talks about?  Do these birds explain missing persons, crop circles, and the Bermuda Triangle? Why isn't anyone squwaking about this?!?!?!?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

At least you've got chickens! Spare a thought for poor old KFC over here, who switched delivery suppliers to a company that doesn't have a clue how to deliver food . . .

    *urrrppp*

Yes thank goodness those guys aren't delivering the beer :0

    They come in pints?

THis picture is somehow very disturbing :0

    Kentucky Fried Trex ?

Not so far fetched.  The Moa reached 12 foot high.   But despite this height advantage, the hunters in New Zealand made meals of all of them 600 years ago.

So far not one video hiccup after many switches of video stream.  Liking FF so far.  Don't need a plugin to make accessability work!  Now even embedded images display properly (Chrome kept trying to display them in inverse color, like it did Web colors).

I've become addicted to roasted corn tortillas!  Roast 3 at a time, then just keep 'em hot in the insulated air fryer.  Works well.

Have a possible small item sale this afternoon.  Could be more food money!

Will be putting more stuff up for sale tomorrow.  Beer money?  Maybe so.

At home I never prepared a pot of coffee or tea.  At work, yes.  We always had one or two pots brewing at work but at home, for decades I've used instant coffee or bagged tea.  HOWEVER, I'm very particular about the brand of instant coffee I put into my mouth.  Some of it is absolutely horrible. Aghhh, gag me with a spoon!  Once I found Folger's Instant Coffee it became my one and only despite being a little more expensive than the chemical cocktail the other companies produce.  And, yes, I know Europeans, and American Starbucks groupies think coffee has to be made by hand in gold plated machines and curl your hair when drunk, but I'm not of that opinion. cheeky

Have you considered using the Keurig K cup machine to make single cups at home? I agree Folgers is the best instant coffee and I used it for years before I got a Keurig machine. But the keurig  individually brewed cups are lots better and with careful shopping you can still get k cups for $0.25 to $0.35 each or you can get filter cups to use your own fresh ground coffee.

I use my Keurig to make hot water for soup and instant coffee.  The pods aren't recyclable in Austin so it adds a ton of non-biodegradable trash to the environment.

If you don't care about that, though, many pods have some seriously good coffee. :-p

NOTE: ex-Californian here. That should explain it all.

I've mentioned this before, but Melitta makes a reusable "Keurig" cup. I checked and it's 2.0 compatible. (No, I don't work for, or sell, Keurig... or Melitta).

I saw that, and it's cool, but since I switched to botique tea and instant soup it doesn't make sense *for me*.  Anyone considering a Keurig should buy one! :-)

    edited February 2018

I may have missed my winter adventure at the symphony in Buffalo a couple weeks ago, but I sort of made up for it with my lunch trip to Erie yesterday.  Yeah, not quite the same but not nearly as budget busting.

Now I've already found a few possible summer mini-adventures.  Since I live so close to the Chautauqua Institution, I watch their summer concert schedule.  Firstly, Pianist Alexander Gavrylyuk will be back again for two performances.  A solo recital in June, and the "Brahms Piano Concerto #1" in July.  smiley

Then in August a super concert!  All four pieces Three of the pieces are on my list of favorites.  "L'arlesienne Suite #1" by Bizet; "Scheherazade" by Ravel";  "Afternoon of a Faun" by Debussy; and "Daphnis et Chloe suite #2" by Ravel.  Promises to be an excellent evening. yes

But speaking of Chautauqua, the organ console for their pipe organ was damaged by leaking water while in storage over the winter.  I haven't found that news on the internet yet but I just got my copy of "The Chautauquan" newspaper describing the efforts to repair the damage to the ivory keys and pull stops and electronics.

edited to correct the version of Scheherazade being performed.

I think it's a scam to get your money.  You won't get that Imax feeling from them.  It would have to be huge.  Maybe an 80 inch set, and you sitting right in front of it.  Otherwise, I think it's just a gimmic.
