Any plans for soft body physics/bullet physics in the future?

I just found out that Poser studio has had soft body dynamics for years now and i wonder as to why daz 3d with a much more active community hasnt been able to develop anything similar to it? are there any future plans at all for a soft body system? Like they coudl easily incorporate more nvidia technology into the program and add more physics/simulation based content that is much needed.

From the first post in this thread:

Daz 3D continues to enhance and improve Daz Studio with the introduction of dForce Physics. The first implementation will allow objects designated as cloth to simulate physical collision and interaction with other objects in the scene including a posed or animated figure. Other physics simulation types are expected to follow.

Normally, Daz doesn't even drop those sorts of hints. :(

It's true to say that those who guess, do constantly, but they don't know; whereas those who know, keep quiet; NDAs are signed.

There is a reason for keeping development secret; the competition can get a competative advantage if they know too soon what is happening.

  • Most of Daz Studio's higher-functions are 3rd party plugins, like keyframing, animation graphs, dynamics, etc, so it will take a freelance/hobbyist programmer to come up with/expand an existing system of actual figure physics, particle handling, fluid/metaball systems, dynamic and mappable hair, and such.

That is, if it's to be affordable. I'm sure there are several pro developers looking to cash in with a licensing scheme already.

im a bit skeptical about that because the thing is daz has been around for quite a while now with huge support yet no 3rd party developer has made anything of the sort. This leads me to believe that this is not somethign a 3rd party dev is capable of and instead requires the daz devs themselves to make it or they would have to use NVIDIA tech to do this. this is just my own analysis of the situation. Like something as useful as soft body dynamics which has been around forever on the much less supported program of poser has not yet even appeared at all in Daz in any shape or form just makes me think something must be up.

I think algovincian provided the right answer in the quote from the dForce introduction thread. It's in the works, but we need to be patient.

Most of Daz Studio's higher-functions are 3rd party plugins, like [...] dynamics, ...

OptiTex was a third-party sstem, I'm not sure that is true of dForce.
