My Daz avatar is an actual photo but my FB one is this :
It's a crop from a render i made for Charlotte 8 when she was released...

  • The original of my forum avatar is a portrait I did last year of one of my RP characters from Champions Online, codenamed Banshee.

Long backstory short... She's a metahuman with a killer set of vocal chords, and a member of an elite team known as the Black Angels, whose mission is to destroy Viper.  She joined them to help undo all of the evil her older brother has done as he's climbed the ranks in Viper.

As for my favourite avatar in general... I've had so many great RP characters over the games and years that it's hard to choose.  My galleries are full of testimonies to them all.

  • Wow mine is OLD. I created her from a frankenstien of different products YEARS (Feb of 2009)  ago. All I can say for sure is she is V4...

    The emotion is great!

My other most used avatar is another oldie V4. She was my 1st product at RMP a collab with RobynsVeil. Robyn based her morph off of the much younger skinner version of me from images I sent her.

Mine is from one of the first renders I did that I really liked, and the first time I used any of the available morph dials on a character.

So mine is a really old render (one of the first ones I did when I started) using V4. Growing up my mother would call me a changeling because I'd devil her :D Name stuck. So one of the first things I did was make a goblin :D I should probably update my avatar huh...

My avatar is just my favorite hyacinth macaw at the local zoo. My avatar used to be render of a Songbird Remix hyacinth macaw, but long ago, I replaced that one with this photograph.

I also had this one as first draft but it didn't pass at the end...

<== This one is from the Daz store, https://www.daz3d.com/duckie-for-genesis I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. This avatar is the only reason I bought that item, I have never used it for anything else so far. :D

Mine is a $3 commisioned pixel art drawing of the character that I've rendered in both Poser and Studio for about 15 years.

    Where's the render??

Thanks for your interest. I've made a bunch of renders with her, but here's one of the cuter ones.

Graymouser69 - Was that Doc Legume or a different guy? I HATED him waaaay back in the early days of Rendo, but I grew to at leat respect his don't-give-a-hoot attitude and that he was able to entertain many people with his bizarre art. If it wasn't him, I'm sorry; any artist's passing is tragic and a loss to the community.

Best Avatar CreatorAvatars can mean lots of different things in lots of different use cases (Forum Identities, Comic characters, etc.) But another cool use of Avatars is going on with our sister company Morph 3D who's leveraging a lot of the Daz 3D history and character platform experience to take the experience into the Gaming, app, and VR/AR world (Including a recent Avatar Creator for Ready Player One.) https://www.morph3d.com/ready-player-one-avatar-creator#Oasis

My current avatar here at DAZ is a commission I had done by George Perez of one of the characters in a comic a friend & I were working on (her name is Riftwich). The comic has been in limbo for a while, but I'm working on it again, planning on using DAZ Studio for the art. On other sites, I use a face shot taken from my Facebook profile picture.I was messing around with Genesis, seeing how many geografts I could use, and realized the face looked a lot like mine, so I used it.

@ATI's pleading duck always makes me think twice when I see it. laugh

Since this is about avatar creators and not in particular DAZ Studio or 3D art I like best the Hanna Barbara, Warner Brothers, and many other cartoon characters created particularly from the mid-20s to the mid-60s. Their voices were important part of that too and even when they had no voices that worked for the characters that didn't have voices, eg Pink Panther.

My favorite avatar creator in the DAZ / Poser world has been 3DU but now some DAZ Originals and other PAs are starting to compete. I like that I can mix DAZ Originals - 3DUs - D.Master - Facegen,- JoeQuick - RawArt - Virtual Worlds and the other PA sources to make scenes like Bewitched  toon scene and it not be 100% obvious the sources of the models & morphs were used to create the scene.

I don't think I really have a character I could consider an avatar. There are some I've used recurringly, mostly Sadie from 3D Universe, but I tend to dial spin a lot or mix and match characters. As for my forum avatar, it's literally something created using one of those 'Anime avatar makers' in Flash. I just screenshot the thing and kept it.

I love Sadie too.  Kimberly is one of my favorites from 3D Universe, but I agree, I tend to dial spin her a bit too.

My forum avatar is my character Lori: https://www.daz3d.com/lori-for-genesis-8-female

But this is the character I've been using the most lately:

Her base is Top Model but she's been heavily morphed with 5 different morph sets, as well as HD details from the Rune 7 HD body details, and Gwenneli's HD face details.
