    haha Lies! :P But it was fun seeing what I could throw together. I think the hat is from like a V4 witch outfit, I'm not sure where the cape is from, but the coat is from a G3M Arabian outfit. lol I definitely need a wizard outfit. There's a nice one released today so I might pick that up. I've also been eyeing that dForce one that came out recently.

    They sell *mostly* skinny white models. While G8 has been slightly better, 11 out of 20 G8 releases are white chicks, and that's not counting Sakura. Exactly one minority has been represented in this time span, while 2 fairy characters released within a couple months of each other...I don't know what metric you use, but I consider that not terribly diverse by any measure. To put it this way, fairies outnumber all other real minorities combined.

    Anyway Floyd looks great, is a breath of fresh air, and is one of Daz most realistic releases I've seen from Daz. Lots of good things happening here. The bundles make sense, the addons look solid, and the HD is included (though IMO it really should be included by default on all models that have an HD shape.)

    So this one is a buy. I just need to figure out exactly what I want. There's a lot of stuff here. However, I will note that out of all of the bundle items, and all the addons, there is not a single minority addon in sight.

    And yeah, I say the odds are 100% Mable is a grandmotherly type and she will follow very soon.

    Floyd 8 "out of the box" with his "Normal Maps On" setting:

    His skin is really great, IMO! I think this might be the first character that I've not even been tempted to adjust with Altern8. lol

    Another awesome character base.  Like so many others, I saw the Walter Mathau resemblence as well and that Good Guys bundle knocks it out of the park.  The viking outfit seems like a strange choice, but overall it's a nice, well coordinated bundle with some really great items in the associated sales.  Floyd's a definite buy for me and I can't wait for his female counterpart.

    I like the free stuff choices with this promotion - They are offering a good selection of pro bundles and other bundles to choose from.

     

    (I didnt like the free stuff choices given with the Mika 8 promotion as it was mostly background scenes)

    Mika 8 promo was rather heavy on the scenes, not that I minded, I managed to pick a great many I'd been meaning to but weren't critical.

    You have to morph transfer. Here's a quick test render of G3M with 40% Lee 7 and 60% Floyd 8.

    Argggghhh! They're making it REALLY hard to resist temptation. Especially with the G3M Pro bundles as freebies. And I still have my PC+ DO coupon which can be used on new items (although getting Support to retro-apply it will be a pain).

    The farie allow you to have diverse farie characters -

    The Mika 8 pro bundle contained 1 white farie and 1 non white farie character.

    The mika addons in that promotion had 1 white character, 2 non white characters, and one afro style hair.

    On the Mika thread Thorn posted a couple of beautiful images of Mika looking asian/indian.

     

    Now back on topic - I like Floyd

    Outrider is right: the vast majority of the G8 figures have been white girls of varying types, and only one ethnic character. We're talking official characters here, mind you. Not counting obvious toon characters like Sakura, Aiko, Ollie, and Edie, Genesis 8 has been abysmal in terms of actual diversity on the official character front.

    Having said that, Floyd 8 here does count as a diverse character, since he taps into an otherwise untapped area that DOs have yet to really broach, so credit given where credit's due there. He's a much older looking gentleman, representing an age bracket that's otherwise represented in morph packs of varying quality. He also brings with him some good, age-appropriate clothing and items, and it gives me hope that Mabel 8 -who I suspect is also his female counterpart- will bring about the same.

    He's fantastic! Will be picking him up today. Would love to know where these accessories are from, especially the shower cap and the duck. What a great promo!

    Seems like a great pack with a lot of interesting and useful stuff in it...

    Too bad I can't get the price down low enough to fit in my budget... ~ $ 60.- by adding the cheaper addons (instead of those I would really be interested in) to get some G3M packs (or older stuff) which usually only have two or three items in them I would be interested in (as I mostly use G8M) just isn't tempting enough.

    So it's about the same as with Edward - there's no need for DAZ to really sweeten the deal, as male characters aren't coming that often, so they probably sell well without the need for really good deals

    The overwhelming resemblance to Walther Matthua is what makes this figure a no buy for me.  Troll 8 looks interesting but I wonder how it looks if you don't have Floyd?

    That's what it comes down to for me too (for PC+ plus three add-ons plus 20% off banner).
