My take on Floyd 8
I like the character and there are actually three free bundles I don't have, yay! Thanks Daz for including those extra bundles and giving us a wide choice! Having the handicapped bathroom included as an add-on is a bit weird, not sure how many old men sitting on a toilet I need, but they should have at least included a newspaper LOL. The two add-ons with old person items are very similar as are all the expressions. I wish there was a wider variety of elderly person items rather than two packs with almost the exact same things,,.
I feel your pain. I am loving the diversity of these new characters (no more skimpy super models women and wannabe super hero men) but I am struggling every month to justify the cost. I might be able to swing it in a week or two but I am assuming the sale and freebies for this character will be over by then.
I think you've had a Momentary Lapse of Reason, Will. He looks old enough to be in a collection of Relics, and his expression has a "Wish You Were Here" kind of vibe. At least you didn't put him in some incongrous setting like on the Dark Side of the Moon or up in the sky where he'd be Obscured by Clouds.
Though he really ought to have something in the background, maybe have him lean up against The Wall or something.
Haven't bought anything for months, and then saw Floyd 8 this morning. A great looking character, and the free HD Add-on (although like others have commented I think these should be a standard in any Pro Bundle) and up to 3 free Pro bundles, was just too much of an amazing offer to let pass by.
Like others have commented, Floyd 8 has to be one of the most photorealistic characters to date.
Many thanks to all who have posted images in this thread. I find it really helps me to see how a character renders when done by artists other than the PA.
Also many thanks and appreciation to Daz for putting together such an amazing deal.
Personally I don’t think there are nearly enough male superheros.
In fact I don’t think one official male super hero pro bundle has been released. And there is nothing to say that Floyd could not also be a superhero..
they got to age sometime...
Between Ollie 8, Edie 8 and now this, I've been incredibly impressed at Daz bringing out figures with both such attention to detail and genuine character to them!
Still not finding any meaningful advantage of Genesis 8 over Genesis 3, but Daz finally no longer focusing on Victoria/Michael clones is amazingly refreshing.

I haven't been counting, wow 20,I'm wrong, thanks for the info I kinda get excited when I see something done out of the norm. they seem to be on 2 a month. So I'm sure more ethnic diversity is coming. I do wish they would create Hispanic, East Indian and some other types. Though we just don't know what they are working on. Personally I'm much more content when a PA creates these characters, they usually are pretty good. All these characters even if white, don't need to stay white, it's art just create your own. Daz sells the base. Though I do see the need for out of the box turnkey products. Though I doubt many people here just use these characters as is. We artists!

No, I don't think they are. I think they're from the https://www.daz3d.com/sunglasses-for-genesis-8 as the mesh matches up almost perfectly. It has the curved lower bridge, not the squared one in SteelFrame Specs Aviators.
Don't forget if you get the freebies, you won't get the full amount of the coupon...

I used them in this Image and I know what they are cause I bought them and they are in my library;) The Question was asked in regards to my portrait of Floyd that I posted here and not the ones from the Promo Images in the Store.
He's sweet. He reminds me of my grandpas and great uncles. There's something that is everyday and familiar about him, like you might see him sitting at McDonald's enjoying a senior coffee or see him shopping at the grocery store. He looks like a real person.

Any clue how many G8 pro bundles one must own to get a banner? Not seeing anything even in my messages, but then again I only have 2 G8M bundles bought. Would have had more but bad timing. :sigh:

$1 = 20% is pretty harsh even for Daz math.
WIth the PC+ discount, the 20% off, and 3 addons the Pro bundle should come to $42.33

Normal price for a New Pro bundle is like $66. $135 at approx 50% for PC+
$42 is $14 off, which is about 1 of the 20% deals based on $66 (Daz maths).
I usually expect the Pro bundle in the $35 range when I get double 20% off... which is approximately the $42 minus another approximate 20%.
I am not really expecting $42 for the pro bundle, which is what I see despite a the banner and the 3 add ons in the cart.
I'm going to wait and see what the right Daz math is.

One combination I need to do is for one of the central male characters in my storyline, Lord Marshal Trevor, who is the head of Net47, London's most important independent news network. Needs to look older but still "dignified" and "a bit dashing" (the Floyd/Edward mix in the promos comes close but can't afford another character set just for one person).
I like him, don't have a scene in mind just yet but I'm sure one will come. Currently rendering him without Floyd for Icedragon (unless someone else manage to get it done before me :) )
He's kinda cute in purple'ish swimpants ^^
