Looking for Hotel/Motel room with exterior door

I'm looking for a plausible bedoom/motel room with a door that either leads to a hallway, or a motel exterior. Does it exist?

Didn't one of First Bastion's motels have one interior room, as well as the exterior?

There is a couple of full and complete interior/exterior motel/hotel environments but you have to go to an external site to find them.. The problem I have found with a lot of the scene products here is that they are more a vignette style rather than a full interior/exterior scene..  Which makes it difficult when trying to keep scene continuity..

Unfortunately there are none like what Serene is looking for it is a case of either interior only or in the case of motels exterior only..

    I use this a lot ...

    https://www.daz3d.com/motel-bundle

However, I bought it during a sale when it was considerably more affordable. It does go on sale quite often, I believe.

The problem though is if you want a scene of opening the door to the room from the outside, and have the actual room inside it can be a hassle, and as far as I can tell there are not many products like that here..

That Motel I linked has the exterior and interior but only if the whole bundle is purchased. At least I think I'm correct in saying that. Check the product page to be sure though.

Yeah did check them out, but not sure if the room will parent to the exterior, so that it becomes one scene and that entering a room becomes seemless.. I think that is what Serene is after where the room is an actual part of the building and not just a seperate vignette type setup..

I can give you what I am talking about but sort of can't as the products are not from here..

I have a distinct memory of a product in the store here that has a hallway exterior and then a room interior, where the main promo was (I think) of the exterior door. This may have actually been for a high-end luxury apartment room? But I am having trouble finding the product, I thought it was on my wishlist. Will link it if I can find it.

Depending on your needs, would something like the Create-a-room from Collective3D help, if you already have furniture from another set? That way you can build the walls including the hallway to your liking.

As far as products on other sites, from what I have seen here, you can at least name the site and the vendor since someone else is already asking for the product, and you aren't just advertising un-asked.

I am pretty sure that the room does parent to the exterior as you are hoping for. I have used it recently and remember panning the camera from the outside (parking lot) to inside the room, through the exterior wall/door.

Hope these images give you an idea. You can "walk" into the room from outside. Sorry - I swung the front door back too far and through the security door.

It doesn't come with IRay materials, unfortunately, but most render quite well just by applying the DAZ IRay Uber shader.

I think that was Suite 2101 by Hole but it seems to have been removed from the store. I have a record of my purchase but no link to the product page.

Both of these have textured interiors. You will need to provide your own furniture. With the Motel Bundle mentioned earlier, that gives you three options for Motels.

I wish more products fit together like the example Marble posted. Many are just random pieces parts with a common name. (West park comes to mind :O )

There was one on the other site that was a scifi space ship, and mostly everything fit inside the sxterior shell correctly, except the engine room which stuck out much further than the shell and so I had to chop up the model with geometry editor to make it fit.

A lot of people are doing consecutive scenes such as in a comic or animation and it would be pretty awesome if PAs created full sets of a particular theme they created. I mean, what good is a 1920's car without other 1920's cars, clothes and buildings to go with (just as a random example off the top of my head) Or the Future series without everything else that would go in that world.

Hey thanks for the recs. Yes I always interested in good entry images since so many scenes involve characters pausing before going onto a hotel or opening the door to let someone in. Many rooms don’t even have opening doors..

I recall suite 2101... sorry to see it was pulled since I remember the door opening to show an interior.

I've spent a lot of time looking for a product like you describe.  I'm sorry to say, I know of nothing that accurately depicts a modern, clean hotel room like you find in the US.  Sure, there's stuff out threre but so much of it has details that I have never seen in a real hotel room.  I've been working on something in Lightwave but I have no intention of selling it.

Oh, thanks for that. I was starting to wonder about my memory... at least I know it's not just me, it did exist and is missing. smiley

That's a shame. I found some pictures of it on other sites and it looks like a high quality set.

https://www.daz3d.com/business-hallway I own this and checked it out for you. The doors open and the hall segmented so you can add more doorway segements. Both the floor and the walls are 1 easy material zone each and it is all IRAY or 3dl for those that still use. This way you can but it up against ANY of the nice hotel room... Tesla, Polish, Zed do some really nice ones. Worst case set Hotel door to 100% Opacity and everything will work easily!

Hid the door in the room with opacity and stretched the hall just a bit to make the openings line up. That hall door is nice with actual 3d thick door. This is good enough to animate in too.

I was shocked to find all the hotel/motel rooms are on my wishlist and I ahve never actually grabbed one yet!

Yep - I've used that one too. Very handy but again, worth waiting for a sale. Looking back, I picked it up for peanuts.

I had a similar idea a while ago. I used the business hallway plus the filing room and a bunch of odds and ends from other sets.

You could always use The Hotel Room and Corridors to do it. The door sizes are the same so everything matches up. And with Corridors being modular, you can add an entire hallway, stairs, etc.

This! I own all of your interiors sets:) Very good for kitbashing together quite complex interior scenes. And they all have nice rigged stuff! yes
