Quick render testing out Luca and mixing him with a few favorites. First picture is Luca 100%, second has Ollie blended in at 30%, and the third picture has Owen blended in. I'm going to experment some more, but I really do like him, I'd been wanting this kind of character Genesis 8 Male since last year.
I really like him. I bought him to mix in some softness to other male figures.
Question about the dark arcs around his eyes. How do I make these go away? I've zeroed out his makeup , but they remain no matter what I do. Is this a technical issue, or am I missing something in using the product?
(quickie render to show what I'm talking about attached)
There's something going on with the eyelashes. Try applying the full MAT again which is a hierarchal MAT pose and will re-apply the eyelashes as well.
I like him but he doesn't mix that well with others I hoped to be able to make him look a bit older but I'm not haveing much success so far.
Oh my goodness - that looks really nice! I'm surprised you said he doesn't mix well with others - this looks like a fantastic mix to me. :)
Great render too - I love the bloom and lighting. :) Nicely done!
I wasn't going to pick this up since I spent so much already this week, but after seeing your render with him I think I may have to pick him up now. lol
Luca seems way too feminine at full strength. I like the concept, but I'm going to hold off until I see a few renders of how Luca mixes with other G8M figures at some varied percentages. Also, for anyone who already got him, are the Face and Body morphs separate or is it a single FBM?
There is a list of the included morphs on the product page:
Luca Character Included Morph Targets (and Where to Find Them): (.DUF)
FBM Luca Body (Actor/Full Body/People/Stylized)
FHM Luca Head (Actor/Head/People/Stylized)
CTRL Luca (Actor/People/Stylized)
PHM Luca Chin 02 (Actor/Head/Face/Cheeks and Jaw/Stylized)
I had a faery story in the works with a female lead, but Luca has convinced me to make the lead male instead. Of course, I am going to testosteronize him a bit. Great job Thorne and other artists!
Just picked him up, and messing with him right now He's a pretty cool little guy. Thanks Thorne.
I as much as some others have also been having a bit of trouble aging him. I tried Growing Up (G8M) no good really. I tried Aging for G8M, figured that would be overkill but did get some interesting looks. lol.
If you want to age him, or any other younger character, than the best solution is not to dial in the morph 100%. Drop the head morph to 50%, body morph to 75%, and dial in other characters heads (Michael, Edward etc) to make him look even older.
I like him but he doesn't mix that well with others I hoped to be able to make him look a bit older but I'm not haveing much success so far.
Try reversing "growing up". I haven't tried this on a Gen 8 figure, or one so stylized, but I have on some Gen 7.
Click on the oldest growing up preset, then look at just the used morphs to see what ones it brought in. Click on those, turn off their limits, and set them to negative values about half of what the positive ones were.
Thanks, Thorne, for adding this great character! Thanks to all for posting the great renders, too! With a little blending, I will have a male counterpart for the elf-girls.
OK, this is weird... When I loaded the Luca figure directly from smart content I got the taller character on the left. When I checked parameters under People, Luca was at 0% though. When I added in Luca at 100% on top of the original character, I got the smaller elf boy on the right. There doesn't seem to be a way to dial in the larger boy or directly load the smaller one. There seems to be two Lucas though...
I like that there are two, but I wish there was a dial for the taller one.
Wait, the head and body separate morphs are at 100% from the loaded version and can be dialed down. But the entire character under People is at 0% and when dialed in makes the character have elf ears and smaller... Here is the larger one dialed down seperately with head and body mixed with a character Martin.

Thanks.
He's mixed a bit with Lucas and a bit of Brandon and then a few tweaks to the face using different dials.
I love him! What's he wearing?
Again thanks
He's wearing the trousers belt and spears from the Wild Hunter for G2M, and the earrings, arm bands and necklace are from the Vinnuth Kreigor Sets

Seriously? I think you are having tremendous luck! He looks awesome to my eyes.

Well actually the Brandon character from the Dwayne 8 Pro Bundle looks like a masculine Elf type if you dial in some acceptable Elf ears.
Well, there's a chara mix that puts me in mind of Tidus from Final Fantasy X if you lost the pointy ears.
What's the mix you used?
I really love this character. Thank you Thorne!
Thanks, I'll try that.
Just as an experiment I used Kincaid's skin. Luca certainly seems able to attract female attention! He is very Puckish.
Rendered in 3Delight.

I'm not going to ask you what it was.
Not going to ask you what it was.
@scorpio I think you succeeded more than you realized! He looks great in that image. I had to pick him up. I do love my elf guys!
I LOVE HIM!!!
He seems to be an unofficial counterpart to Mika. :)
I like him with Karyssa or Mika. I blended Hiroshi with Luca and Minami with Karyssa, expermenting with creating a hybrid style.
Haven't had a chance to play with Luca much just these quickie renders. He his sweet.
You just don't argue anymore
Loving all these renders <3
Great renders @alliekatblue
