they don't want just a yay or nay ping, they want the response time saved.  not the same as the TTL time.

..foggy morning when I got up, so thick I could barely see more than a block away. Still very chilly, actually turned the heat on.

Looks like spring has finally arrived down in Melbourne AU.

Does Florence Foster Jenkins really have any fans?    I have to admit just the sound of her name makes me cringe.

Doubt it.  Today I was accused of telling a lie when I told the truth.  It was for a petty thing.  I said I had not worn a particular pair of pants yesterday, which was the truth, but the staff said I was lying.   Apparently I got on her bad side and nothing I say or do is right,

Complaint:  Arghhhh..., snow! sad I didn't go out driving to do my chores yesterday.  I should have because this morning I woke up to 3 inches of snow on the ground, the roads all slushy, still snowing and 9 to 10 inches predicted.  Arghhhh.  I need to get groceries, go to the post office and take the garbage to the transfer station.  I guess I could walk to the first two if absolutely necessary and if I tie the full garbage bag closed it should keep for a few days.

Non-complaint:  It's snowing outside and the the first snow always looks so pretty.  I've got peach brandy, I've got vodka, I've got lemonaid, I've got hot chocolate.  I've got milk and cereal.  I've got oatmeal and lots of frozen hamburg & ham and shrimp and I've got potatoes and bread.  Not many canned goods but at least I won't starve 'till the weather breaks and the roads get plowed.

Or "ploughed" for those of you who still insist on using three letters where one will do. cheeky  I've been considering starting a "Ban the OUGH" organization. devil

Okay, this is clearly a case of mental and/or emotional abuse.  I think you're being abused, what with freedoms being taken away and not being allowed to use computing tools, speak your mind, etcetera.  I also know that these things rarely get better without some sort of intervention.  Do you have access to an advocate who can stand up for you?

Tell us again WHY you left Florida?  It hasn't gotten any colder here, and we didn't start getting snow.  I'm confused!  surprise  And don't tell us you "missed having four seasons".  We have seasons; you just have to stop and breathe once in awhile.  And the only people who say that are the ones who left Florida and now they're trying to justify their decision.  wink

I agree, we should ban the OUGH's.  And "colour" and "cheque", and "programme" too, while we're at it!  (apologies to KK)

I mean, really, next they'll be trying to make us spell it "doughnut" instead of its rightful and proper way, "donut!"  LOL  cheeky

I know I for one left Florida   partly because of the lack of seasons ,I'm sorry but South Florida has HOT ,NOT as HOT , and Hurricane ,I grew up there , I also found it getting very crowded ,I prefer more space ,and while when you are a kid snow is fun when you get older snow isn't as much fun ,in fact it means a higher chance of falling which is scary, that being said I love the changes in temperature ,I love the being able to bundle up with the colder temperatures ,instead of piling on ski wear for 2 hours when the temperature hits 60 degrees......I love when the warmer temperatures come at the end of spring opening windows for the fresh air and not having the air conditioner on for 360 days a year ......just saying can fuss about stuff without hating it ....

You speak your language and let others speak their own language please.  I have never heard of a plow,  I do know what a plough is,and a ploughshare, am happy during the bad weather when I see the showploughs clearing the mountain roads.

Do tell me, what do you have against Ploughs, when you allow tough rough, cough, bough, dough, that's only the little words though, although we mustn't forget borough, thorough, hiccough.  and so forth. If that's not enough where would you be without your sourdough to make artisan bread products. Have you had a breakthrough yet?  am I convincing you.

Says she, munching happily on a jam and cream doughnut,   thankyou for reminding me I had some.  They go nicely after a nice ploughman's lunch

Tow    to pull something along       Row, a line of something (I live in a row of houses), sometimes I here the neighbours having a row,  I have a friend who likes to row a boat. I have another friend who likes to shoot her bow and arrow, sometime she wears a bow in her hair, and she will bow to accept applause,   I see cows sometimes up on the hillside when driving through, and doggies going bow wow wow.  Of course if ther are sheep in the same field as the cows the dogs are more likely to be going "mint sauce mintsauce" to worry the sheep.

Complaining non-complaint:  I had to go out into the snow today anyway.  I realized my laundry had to be done or stink for a week.  This required not only brushing off the 3 inches of snow, but also melting and removing the frozen tree leaves frozen onto my windshield. angry   So, after finally getting most of them off, I did get my uptown chores done and got the car back and parked before the big snow starts up again. yes

Regarding why I left Florida:  I moved back to New York State from Florida because I was broke.  In Florida you either live in the city or in the swamp or cow pastures.  If you live in the city you either live in nice housing or slums.  If you live in nice housing you have to be able to afford year-round climate conditioning, and bug control and deal with corrosion of anything metal.  Traffic in any of the cities is terrible, either you have to few lanes or you have too many lanes and it never becomes adequate.  If you live in the cow pastures the bugs are everywhere and drop in unanounced whether you have bug control or not.  If you live anywhere in Florida then every few years you wonder if this is the year your house gets a tree dropped onto it, or the roof blows away or the water rises up and soaks the bottom 3 feet of your space or carries your house away.  Just try finding affordable housing insurance!

Up here in NY State this is my home town. I live out in a cow pasture (well, a teeny tiny town, same deal) but I don't need bug control, floods are rare and affect only those with homes in the bottom of the creek valleys, the dirt stays on the hillsides.  We don't have earthquakes or forest fires.  About every 10 years a small tornado passes through the county and takes down a half dozen trees but rarely damages any houses, and we only need heat in the winter and A/C about 4 weeks in summer.  Yes, digging my car out of a foot of snow is a bitch but since I don't have to go anywhere regularly I can usually wait a week or 10 days until the weather breaks  (saves money on gas).  And most importantly, my rent for a very livable apartment is only $400/month including gas and electricity and parking.  The grocery store, post office and car mechanic are all within walking distance even for a 70 year old man.  Yet I do have to put up with the local redneck mentality and gun mania all around me but when I do hear gun shots I'm quite certain it's either only target practice or Bambi just bit the dust. No roving gangs of insane teenagers in this neighborhood, and the only traffic problems I have are getting behind Amish buggys or  big farm equipment lumbering along at 5 miles an hour. indecision

I found an obj file online of a wine glass.  Imported into DS and it was completely invisible but imported it into Poser and it was black.  Wonder what happens if I import it into Carrara what would happen.
