Do you know we can render pictures with this 2D Cartoon effect directly from Daz, without any extra shaders or postwork ?
And you can keep all the textures of the 3D models ! Crazy !

How? What wizardry is this?
That doesn't look like the standard cartoon render. Very Nice by the way.
Can we get some more information on these renders?
see: https://direct.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/123436/cartoon-shaded-images
But it looks like some postFX was done to the OP images.
Ah ? Ok ! Already found by other people. Sorry ! I dind't know ! If you want to delete this thread, no problem !
I don't have to check the "Show Hidden Properties" here. Simply use the "Cartoon shaded" parameters as explained in the thread linked above.
I don't use any postwork ! What you see is the pure render with Basic Open GL to be able to render and export the picture.
I'm actually trying to improve the render with the right lights because they affect the shadows (direction, density,...). It seems to be important here ! (The outlines still are bad ! Better not to use !)
On characters the "old school" Cartoon render isn't so nice but I try to find better parameters. You can see below the difference on the colors between the 2DOpenGL render and the 3DIray one.

I'm extremely impressed with your results and I can't wait to try this out over the holidays. It seems the trick is getting the lighting right, if I understand what you are saying. I imagine certain characters and textures would work better than others - but those barrels above look incredible - if it wasn't for the mirrored pattern on that one that is on it's side, I'd swear they were hand drawn with markers or even pastels. This is very exciting, thanks for posting!
