FBX Formats, Animation and Object EXPORTS - non Daz software search?

So pardon me for asking, but I am on the hunt for a bunch of software that can....
a) Import an FBX file with its animation and RENDER different scenes along the animation timeline [close to an Iray look]
b) Import FBX file file with its Animation and EXPORT the Object FROZEN as an .obj in one of the animation frames.
c) Find a lighter-weight program (than MAYA or its competition, lol) to work with FBX files and can work with (normal) industry-standard rigging set ups.
I have STEAM and there are a ton of 3D apps on there, but the information and reviews are so scant, I have no idea if they will do what I want.
They all say they support the FBX format, but beyond that....who knows.....
----------------
I have the file conversion and FBX viewer software.
In the end, I'd like to Import a thing, then pose it (using its rigged/animated FBX data) and then export THE newly POSED THING into Daz as a static Object.
Any ideas or am I completely going about this the wrong way?

It looks as if iClone 7 does this (when it includes the 3Dxchange7).
I have had good luck importing .FBX files into Carrara and posing them there and then exporting as .OBJ to import into DS to render in Iray.
That is how this scene was done
Very nice. When I import an FXB by itself, it imports fine. When I try to import an FXB + its animation it gets chopped in half and distorts.
So there must be some setting I'm getting wrong as trying simple drag and drop is a fail. lol
Any ideas?
Unity 3d is free https://unity3d.com/ There is a discussion of exporting characters and animations here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/260546/daz3d-and-unity
Has anybody used Unreal to do this?
Hi assuming You consider MAX,C4D,Lightwave3D competitors of Maya
That leaves the apps already mentioned by others
the Reallusion options( google them) and I would add Blender,MODO and possibly Poser11.
Thank you Wolf for joining it!!!!!!!!!
Here's the dilemma.....(s)
Okay, I have iClone 6 and only 7 ($219 upgrade cost) has the Xchange add on - that seems to add the functionality I need. I don't want to pay $219 for a program I probably won't be using (for a long time) just for this one singular functionality. I just want to export FBX files from one of their rigged/animated poses.
I have Poser 9 and upgrading to 11 is $183.74 (arghhh)
I have Carrara 8.X and trying to import an FBX items- comes in exploded. I've been Googling all Friday and this morning- Saturday and reading a million threads and watching YouTube videos about Meshes and Zero frames. All of that is over my head. Not only that, I do not see anything about HOW TO IMPORT FBX files properly.
Modo on STEAM was bookmarked and that is $14.99 a month (subscription plan) which is more affordable, but I have no idea if that will do EXACTLY what I need.
I want to import a rigged product and be able to EXPORT an .obj version for use in Daz. If the imported item explodes or distorts and fails to import, then I am where I am with every other option, so far.
This experiment is NOT going well. I might just have to find a person with the right software and knowledge to take this asset and export it as .obj for me.
The cost in pure time is worse than the frustration.
It would be interesting to see, if you will find the good solution for that.
Will keep watching this thread.
I am importing FBX files to Unity and render them there in free Octane for Unity,
but only environments, props or robots - no human characters, yet.
I have not tried to render characters there, because I think Daz Studio render looks better.
I also think, that skills to deal with FBX files matters more, than the actual software used.
I see, so there is a particular model that you have discovered
in FBX format, that you wish to pose while rigged and then export the
static mesh with textures to DS for still rendering???
I assume it is currently in your posession?
What is the "providence" of the rigged model or models
is it something freely available to others to experiment with??

Yes.
I have been in further contact with the seller.
They actually sent me the 3DsMax scene. I do not use or own 3DsMax and do not wish to.
I'd rather find a work-flow solution so I can do this, time and time again with future models.
Let us switch to PMs and come up with some kind of solution.
Details to follow....
