Trying to make celeb look alike: Eddie Redmayne

As the title says! Hello everyone! I'm trying to make an Eddie Redmayne look alike and I'm not sure where to start! I'm also not sure if anyone knows of someone making a model thats him or similar. Just looking for similar hair, clothes, freckles etc. The morphing and shaping I can do its more the assets that I'm having a hard time finding. Any and all advice is appreciated!

Here's his face for those who don't know him smiley

It just so happens that a character clearly modeled after him has been recently released: https://www.daz3d.com/alascanus-merman-for-genesis-8-males-plus-mertail-and-fins

I am not seeing the resemblance at all.

To the OP, you could try using facegen or headshop to create a morph.

He is cute but I am not sure who he is.  This might be a stupid question to some, but who is he?  Probably should web search his name but I am having computer issues at the moment so I am on my iPad which does not have a feature to open new tab in this chrome app and search with default web search engine for selected item.

Oh by the way I am having an issue of over explaining myself today and I think I have some ADHD right now with a side of headache.

I wish I had more experience and understanding with ZBrush to create the morph for you.  Also wish I had the right male photo references with the correct royalty free license or what not for me to create the textures for you. I might be able to look up via YouTube 3D hair creation tutorials and I know there are ZBrush turorials on YouTube.

Anyway it will take time and concentration and probably some funds to get it done, but I think it is cheaper, faster and easier to use faceshop.

To be far, the guy in that video clip looks nothing like the guy in the op's photo to me. The lighting is so harsh and his expression really throws one off. If you can find a good high quality photo maybe some kind person can make a Facegen/Headshop head for you.

It does give me an idea. People can share facegen and headshop creations. It would be pretty cool if there was a Facegen/Headshop swap request thread, where people post and share their various FG/HS creations and people can also request if someone could make one. There would be no guarantee of requests, nor the quality of any models made from them, it would all just be in good fun.

    Thoughts?

I also wouldn't recognize the OP's included photo of Mr Redmane compared to the posters included photos & films of him. Lighting and makeup and photoshop and film editing can make all the difference in the world in how a person looks in photos and on film.

Well i gave it a try with Genesis 8 & FaceGen Artist Pro.

    Problems:

    1) The lighting is too contrasty & bright in that photo. It's doubtless been heavily post-processed and is a poor photo with regards to both face geometry & face texture.

I'm would buy the Ultimate Freckles for G8F/G8M package in the DAZ Store. For the base texture to put those freckles on I don't know what to say - for a pale Brit with freckles he has spent way too much time in Mallorca and Spain but if I have to tell you one texture to use it'd be Lucas 8 or Owen 8 and then layer the freckles using the freckle product.

I'd think I'd try to find a evenly and diffusely lit portrait of him first and without any photoshop "magic" done to it

    +++++

As you can see from the image I rendered the texture FaceGen created for him it is washed out in areas from blownout contrast in the original portrait. Only cure is to create a fascimile like above using Freckles product/Owen 8/Lucas 8 OR painstakingly learn how to create accurate textures yourself artistically OR find another evenly diffusely lit portrait for HS11 or FG 2.+ to generate an acceptable texture and geometry for your purposes. The last option is the most difficult.

I think my attempt looks more like a young Jeff Goldblum than this Eric Redman person. I like HS11's version better. You can see I only rendered 50 iterations & it is very grainy however a lot of that is just a bad texture created from a bad source portrait in the OP's post.

As a bonus for me I'll just use the FG character I made from that picture to make a render for the PC+ January 'Z' challege render. laugh
