Looking for specific elf ear shape for Gen 8 project

Hello,
I am new to Daz Studio and I am working on a fairy project as I am trying to duplicate this style (for the head / face, not the body):
A big issue are the ears. So far the closest I came to this is the Lillith V4 Package:

I am not particularly fond of the V4 body which is based on Gen 2 and would like to know if anyone knows if a figure in Gen 8 has this shape ear.
Thank you.

This might help

BTW V4 is a standalone pre-Genesis figure, you would not get (even) Genesis 2 compatibility by that route.
Thanks, but they are not close. Many of those styles I have already. I am mainly after that one particular style.
Pre-Genesis? So V4 is not a part of the Genesis series? I thought it was an offshoot of Genesis 2. Hmm, I guess that explains why Daz has these deep price cuts on V4 products.
I don't particularly care for the body on V4 even though the face does have some pretty good morph controls. They render very fast too. I didn't really buy into V4 as I mainly came into it via lots of free product. All I did was buy the Victoria 4 base model and the 4.2 upgrade came in a bundle which was free. It is just that I am spoiled from the Genesis 8 bodies. The V4 bodies are OK for anime, cartoon, fairies, sci-fi and fantasy type characters, but not for realistic detailing. Muscular details are way off with it and Gen 8 is so much better for that kind of work. That is why I was hoping if I could find that style of elf ear in a Gen 8 character.
Thank you.
have you tried mixing morphs to get what you want.
Yes, I tried that but what I have is limited (with V4). I have many more ear options for Gen 8, but even with mixing, I can't seem to get that look. So far Lillith V4 is the only character I came across that comes close to that style ear. It is almost spot on but just doesn't curve up that much. It is close enough. But I am finding I have another issue. ...the hair style. Some in Gen 8 come close, but Gen 8 will be a moot point if I can't find the proper hair style. Also another thing is that I need special face morphs to change the head shape. The character in the picture has a very wide head.
I did get to rethinking things and perhaps I should stick with this character in V4 as I think I can find the head morphs easy. There seems to be quite a few more adjustments for the head in V4 than Gen 8 (Surprisingly, but then again, I am going by what I have for Gen 8 and not what is available). Again hair is another issue and I been through all the V4 hair styles. The only two that come close are these:
https://www.daz3d.com/chic-hair
The bangs are nearly the same, but the overall style is off as that is a bun.
https://www.daz3d.com/sultry-hair
This one has the 'messy' area on top, but lacks the bangs. But out of the two, I like this one more, even though it isn't accurate.
It does seem like this character is more doable in V4 than it is Gen 8, but down the line I might be able to find everything through Gen 8. As it is there is always new stuff being released each day for it.
Well, hopefully some more options will present themselves as time goes on. I am in no rush and I can wait.
For hair styles, you can always try and see if the parts you can't use are separate surfaces that you can hide by zeroing out the opacity on the surfaces tab. If you have hair shader products, you can even combine two different hairstyles by loading both, hiding the parts you don't like and then using the same hair shader on all the visible surfaces to make them look like they belong together.
For faery ears, have you tried either of these products:

Yeah V4 ruled from 2006-2011 I believe, right before Genesis 1. The G2F incarnation of Victoria is V6, which is just a character not a figure.
V4 has maintained popularity for a long time due to good compatibility outside of DS.
But if you will stick with DS there are downsides to V4... If I'm not mistaken there's no autofit or morph following for clothes, and morphs don't (probably can't) stray as far from the base body shape as Genesis morphs can.
IF you can manage to create the shape you are aiming for in gen4 (V4), there's a fighting chance of being able to port it as far as G3 via GenX2. You'll probably need add-ons to get it past G1, but it *might* be doable. A lot depends on how much of a strain is put on the mesh.
But I've built a number of characters from GenX ports, since those come in with dials, so it's easy to mix them or add them incrementaly.
With the hair, I could try it out and see. As for the packages, the first one I have not seen before, but I can't really tell. The second package, that might do it. I have on my wishlist, I am waiting for it to go on sale.
I can tell it is older. I was playing with the morphs for V4.2 last night and I have to say, the head and face morphs are pretty good, in fact there are some options and setting that I don't have with Gen 8. I am sure they are available, as I am still new, but it seemed like I could do more. Also I have noticed that with V4, some characters had likenesses of actual celebrities, such as Angelina Jolie, Mila Jovovich, and Rhinanna. (Even though I don't care for V4, I HAD to get Rhianna! Lol!). However when it comes to the bodies, the adjustments are very limited. Also, there are anatomy issues. the arm / shoulder crease is too high, making the shoulders more flat than rounded. muscle attachment points are wrong and there are many issues that are more apparent if you want a more athletic or muscular character. As it is, I am not fond of Genesis either. Things get a bit better with Gen 2. Gen 3 looks better yet. If course my favorite is Gen 8. With Gen 8, I noticed that the muscles contract when you move the joints. While I probably will dabble withV4, I am not going to specifically but for it unless it is something for $2 or less. I am mostly sticking with Gen 8.
That is all beyond my capability at the moment. Perhaps in the future, but I am still a beginner with 3d art. I only signed up to Da z last month. I already spent a fortune on it too. I guess the initial expense is expected to build up a good working library. As it is , I am trying to cut back on character purchases and I am making them more myself now. I don't buy poses and those I have came with bundles. I only bought 2 character pro bundles to date: Karyssa and Eva 8. they had the most items i could use and they were on sale too. And yes I am PC+.
But all in all of there was a way to extract that ear morph from that V4 Character and make it a control for the Gen 8, then that would be great. In do have Blender, but don't know it that well.
@TZorg...
I played more with V4 last night and I ended up buying Lillith. As to what you were saying with the clothing is spot on. If the body is morphed too much, the clothing doesn't fit very well. It does follow poses fine, but if you have a more 'built' or voluptuous lady, I have noticed that the clothing doesn't fit right. I don't have much clothing for V4, but I have this nice skin tight body suit and it doesn't fit the couple characters I have, but it fits the base V4.2 fine. Another issue with that base is that she is set with 'built in' hair, which I can't seem to turn off, and she also has 'built in' underwear, which I can't turn off. So I tried to adjust the bodysuit to fit the one character and it only goes so far. So if that is the case, then how am I going to get it to fit? Am I stuck using the base body form? If that is the case that is turning me off with V4. I do admit that V4 has some nice clothing selections, particularly in the Steampunk Genre, of which Gen 8 needs to catch up on. I wonder if that RSSY V4 to Gen 8 clothing converter works well, if so that would open the door to more clothing choices for Gen 8. But at this point, unless it is a freebee (or something in the $2 that I have to have), I am going to avoid anything but Gen 8.
Back to Lillith. OH! Her ears are perfect and if there was a way to widen the head, I think I could create that fairy character in V4. But what I would like even more if there was a way to import that ear morph into Gen 8, then I would be in my glories!
Do you know how to add a smoothing modifier? Do that to the clothing, set the collision object as V4, and fiddle with the collision iterations until the pokethrough goes away. Widening the head on V4 is easy: select head with node selection tool, go to parameters, and x-scale until it looks right.
There are plenty of other V4 skins, available either in ds/dsa format under Victoria 4/Materials or in pz2 format under runtime/libraries/pose. You don't have to use the base version.
They're part of the default texture. There should be a material preset included with the base to apply a version of the texture without the painted hair or underwear, called something like "All Natural NG" IIRC.
I don't know much about v4. I only started with Da z in December and I pretty much stuck with Gen 8. the only reason why I ended up with V4 is because a large v4.2 bundle that came with morphs was offered in the freebie corner. All I hahad to do was buy the base V4 figure. So now I did that V4 comes up in searches and that was when I came across Lillith and she had the specific ears I was looking for. Thusfar, I am getting used to Gen 8. But it seems with V4 everything is totally different.
Regarding "So if that is the case, then how am I going to get it to fit? Am I stuck using the base body form?":
There were work-arounds like 3rd party apps (Morphing Clothes) and magnet sets to get clothing working with morphs that the clothes didn't support out of the box. Otherwise the safest bet was to stick to a set of well-known body morphs that clothing makers tended to support. When characters like Aiko 4 and Girl 4 came out DAZ would sell "unimesh fits" for their old clothes, so you could basically upgrade them...
You can use the "transfer active morphs" function in DS to get V4 clothes to automatically adjust to unsupported morphs, like clothes for Genesis figures do.
How would I do this? Please keep in mind I am a complete newbie with this and any experience I have is only with Gen 8, so I do not know where to find 'transfer active morphs'.
Is there a way to get it to work without buying something, or if it is very cheap ($5 or under)? Like I said, for me V4 is pretty much just something experimental to tinker around with. I really don't want to invest too much into it...especially given how old this body type is and given all the extra work involved with it.
Thanks!
Select the V4 clothing. On the bar at the top of the program, go to edit->object->geometry->add smoothing modifier. Go to parameters. There should be an area for smoothing modifier. Go there. Go to where it says "Collision Object" and select Victoria 4. The pokethrough-the places where the clothing doesn't fit V4-should reduce. Go to where it says collision iterations, and click upward one increment at a time until the pokethrough disappears. Sometimes tweaking the number of smoothing iterations helps, sometimes it doesn't.
Hello! Sorry for not replying sooner, but I was working on other projects.
I tried this out today and a combination of the two suggestions worked. I have to say that V4 renders really fast! I don't have GPU and only using the processor and the average G8 character (alone) takes about 20 minutes to fully render. The attached V4 render only took 2 minutes! That's pretty fast!
The attached photo is the result. BUT as you see now I also have another problem. How do I fix the shoes?
Thanks
