Looking for a police detective/fbi badge in a wallet

Is there a prop like this out there somewhere? I have things like Sheriff stars and I think a police badge built into a top but nothing like this:

I would love something like this as well.. not seen anything like it anywhere, but I don't really go look that much on other sites admittingly. Would love to have the possibilty to also change it between Police, FBI, DEA (think that's they are called), and other similar agencies etc

Sorry but impersonating a police officer is illegal.

I mean, this is the only one I could find - http://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3ds-police-badge/338419

In real life yes. However, I somehow doubt my door would get kicked down for doing a render of an FBI agent.

Wow, I did NOT mean for my last response to sound that sarcastic. My apologies.

In any case, I am thinking of doing a render of a police detective/fbi agent and realized I don't have a prop to do that iconic scene of flipping out the badge. I found one that is a badge that hooks to a belt as well as one that is a badge in a case for a police officer from Adam Thwaite's freebies. I included a quick render of it below.

I'd take the wallet from Valandar's Pocket Filler and stretch it a bit. It's already got a spot to drop in your own photo.

Alternatively, there's also Maclean's Everyday Cosmetics, which has a makeup case that also works nicely if you replace the images of the makeup and mirror with photos.

Actually, with a leather shader, the makeup case looks pretty good. This is really quick and dirty, but I dropped in a badge, pulled a random image for where the FBI logo and ID badge image would go, added the shader and got this:

That does look pretty good actually! For the purposes of my render I don't even need it to be FBI or whatever. Some kind of 'government law enforcement' would work. I may have to pick up that makeup case for it. I wonder if I could use scaling to flatten it somewhat to look more like a wallet as well. Hmmmm...

Sure, I intentionally did as little on it as possible, but there's no reason that wouldn't work. That said, the badge would have to be flattened a bit more too... I used the one from Real World Heroes and it's fairly thick.

Then they should catch all the actors who impersonate FBI/cops in the movies too...

There are a few pieces in Everyday Labels that might be helpful. Some of the ID badges could be combined with the make-up case.

    There's this one for Poser at Renderosity https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/badge/127984/ ;

  • The link is gurbled.  :-)  However, it is only for Poser, and for some reason the morphs to open and close it are listed specifically as non-functional inside Daz, which is too bad.

I don't even do much rigging but that looks like it would be really easy to rig it to open and close. Just a strip of weight mapping across the spine and voila ;). Maybe I'm over-simplifying. LOL

Well, you're head and shoulders over me... my sum total knowledge if rigging is, 'it's that thing I want to learn how to do, one day,".  :-D  You can make diaper pins!!!!  I managed a rolled-up towel in Hex, once... that's it.  It didn't move ;-)

  • I think what's being looked for is the ID folder...?

Hahaha...the only thing I've ever rigged in DS was a pair of earrings and they weren't all that great at that. Poser was ok to rig in before weight mapping, but Poser weight mapping just made me rip my hair out ;). I'd love to be able to rig, but it seems to be one of those things that doesn't click very well with me, so I pursue other things :P
