LUXE - Fibermesh Lashes and Brows: do they fit/autofit G8M (well, or very meh)

in The Commons
just saw this in today's new releases: https://www.daz3d.com/luxe--fibermesh-lashes-and-brows
now i don't use females, but i was wondering if i can use them for G8M (or even G3M, i have fit clones) with good results?
Comments
hello? could anyone please help me here? the PA, other shoppers who bought those lashes?
my cart depends on this - i'm hesitating for my 2nd new release, and those brows/lashes would be considered but only if they fit G8M well - otherwise i'd rather pick the hangar which is the same price. the rest is chick stuff i don't use, and i already have planes/copters from somewhere else. i don't really need the hangar either, but i actually get a cheaper cart price buying 2 new releases than 1 single, lmao... ^^
and who knows, a hangar could come handy... at some point. on the other hand, if i can get super sexy eyelashes/brows for my G8Ms, why not.
halp?
I just tried autofitting to G8M. The brows fit ok, but the lashes seem to get distorted. Less noticable on the G8 base male, but quite badly distorted when you dial in another character shape (in this case, I tried Christian 8 and a random character from Rendo).
thank you for testing! ^^
now this is very annoying. i never use the base, and what makes it even more difficult, i render mostly Asian men, so the eye form won't be anywhere near base G8M's.
guess i'm gonna be the proud owner of a hangar then.. *sigh* - today's releases are meh. :/
There's a fibermesh brow product for the G3M over at rendo, it's called: "Oh My Brows Morphing Eyebrows" and it works like a charm. I don't recall if I've tried using those on G8, but they are perfect for G3M.
Ther's this for Brows for G8

And this for eyelashes

Withthe March sale starting there's a chance that at some point in the next month they will go on sale.
+1 to those products as well. I also have them and use them regularily.
ah thanks everyone for the links, i hadn't come around yet to look for adapted G8M brow/lashes products :)
If you look at RedzStudio's characters she includes fibermesh eyelashes in a good many of her full character packs

ooh what a gorgeous man! ^^ and he has indeed magnificient lashes.
tho i don't have/want that many caucasians (Redz has mostly those), except maybe the occasional supercheap dude in a megasale.. and even then. i render mostly asian men, and by now i have almost all G3 and G8 ones. some have fibermesh brows meanwhile, and special lashes (guess eye form doesn't suit Gbase lashes so well) but afaik no fibermesh lashes.
anyways, about the LUXE lashes, that ship has sailed. i needed 1 more product to get my GC cheaper, and i ended up buying the chick (instead of the hangar) - her skin has LIE tattoos i can use on a male, and awesome make-up, i stuck the whole texture testwise on Yong, and man that made a fine "geisha" ^^
but thx anyways, i'll take a mental note to keep my eyes open for Redz' creations, they're excellent ^^
I have and love both those products. Granted I don't render faces that are 'in your face', but it makes a difference even at a nominal distance.
i have wishlisted those 2 products ^^
and thx for the info - i don't really render close-ups either, and i was anyway wondering if it was basically worth buying stuff for lashes or brows... now i know :)
The lashes SHOULD autofit to any male character you have in your G8M runtime. As for colors those are fixed with just going into the Surfaces tab with lashes selectd. If you need them darker just look at all the colored values and make those color darker, very easy!
according to @Odd_Platypus above, it's not a success with those lashes. but anyways, now that i can't use them for sale-technical purposes, i'll just buy those items linked to above, they're for males or mixed ^^
I have trouble when I autofit things like the NYC police hat and other such headwear & all on toon style morphs like the 'Cartoonized' G8M & G8F models.
same with hair, besides losing all bones there's distortion... so after trying to autofit, i mostly parent them to the head.
and to have them appear at the right place (when figure is 0ed) i first load the item and autofit it, then i reload it without the figure being selected, and i center-align the new figure with the 1st loaded, parent it to the head, and then delete the 1st loaded. usually hits the mark ~
Thank you for posting this. I was on the fence with it as I also render a lot of make characters and I really prefer to have utilities such as this for both make and female. If a male version of this is created, I will purchase both at that time.
Me too.
As far as the fibremesh eyebrows if the browridge deviates too much from the default G8M/G8F then there is a gap between the brows and the browridge. The Super Natural Brows does have a placement morph that can go negative or positive to fit the brows mostly flush on the brow ridge though. It's not a 100% good solution because browridges aren't all the same shape between people and autofit it's doing enough. I guess one could use the DS dformers function to 'push the brows' to fit the browridge.
what you explained here is exactly the reason why i'd like a product that fits itself perfectly to males (including the various eye shapes like Asian) - this finetuning is something i hate, just hitting wildly on the sliders to & fro, not knowing exactly what i'm doing until per chance i hit the mark >_< - i suffer enough every time i fumble thru dials to modify/create a figure's face, like nose ridge, nose bridge, up down thin flat etc... it's a torture every single time XD. i have a terrible sense of comparison, seeing changes burns a good few gray cells until i notice the differences ~
Well having adjusted the brows to lay flat on the browridge it is difficult as you have to rotate around the brows & look at them in so many directions to make sure there isn't a gap. It's mistake prone.
