Where can i get free female models?

I'm trying to learn how to make visual novels, etc, and have all the material i need, but i'm struggling to find female models. I have like, zero budget, could you guys help a brother out?

Or, alternatively, where can i learn to do my own textures? Or mess with the basic female face to create new ones?

The Genesis base figures are free with Daz Studio.   You just need to download the Genesis Starter Essentials.

THere are 4 sets,   Genesis, Genesis 2, Genesis 3 and Genesis 8

The PoserDazFreebies wiki has a list of a TON of free female characters, free textures, free clothing and hair, etc. What generation do you want to work with?

    Genesis 3 Female:

    https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Genesis_3_Female/Materials_and_Shaders

    https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Genesis_3_Female/Wardrobe

    Genesis 2 Female:

    https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Genesis_2_Female/Materials_and_Shaders

    https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/Genesis_2_Female/Hair

There is also a few freebies for Genesis 8 Female and they have quite a few listed for Genesis as well. I think the figure with the most freebies is probably going to be Victoria 4 - since she was the main figure for longest. However she's pretty old, so her bends and stuff aren't nearly as good as the new generation figures. BUT if you know what you're doing you can still create some beautiful art with Victoria 4 figures.

They have a ton of poses, props, and environments listed as freebies as well. When I first started out with 3D art I had a teeny tiny budget so I relied very heavily on freebies. That PoserDazFreebies wiki was a Godsend for me. :) I never would have been able to learn nearly as much about 3D art without the generosity of those who've made and given away those freebies to the community. :) I hope you find that wiki as helpful as I did. :D

    What Divamakeup said.

Poserdazfreebies doesn't host the models, but they do catalogue quite a large number of links to freebies available on other sites, as they become available.  Hence, I could mention checking out sites like Renderosity and Sharecg, but Poserdazfreebies catalogues those freebies as they become available, so it's a good place to start.  Plus, whomever is maintaining that site watches a few other sites for freebies as well, so it's a real timesaver.

Since you said you were working on a visual novel, be aware that not all freebies are available for commercial use. So be sure and check before downloading. Most of the sites will have a little description area and a "usage rights" spot that gives info on usage rights. MOST of the freebies I've come across are "licenced for Commercial or Non-Commerical" use, but some aren't so you'll want to check out the usage rights blurb first before downloading.

I reckon the bottom line with regard to copyright restrictions is if you're going to sell it. Some say the renders are your own "art" and therefore free to do with as you like, notwithstanding copyrighted images like Mickey Mouse. While others say this is not the case. If you've got a few spare hundred grand you could take it to the Supreme Court for a definitive ruling because I don't think this matter has ever been settled.

The content creators have the say on if the models can be used in commercial work. The people who take the time to share the 3D models they've created have the say on if the models can or can't be used commercially, and that needs to be respected. To not respect the wishes of the people who've taken the time to share their model creations or other works, is not only rude but illegal, and runs the risk of ruining it for everyone.

As I said Divamakeup, it depends if you're going to sell the images you make.

Here's a thread on that topic.

Remember that that discussion is only about products bought at Daz3d and does not apply to other vendors or other freebies....  When in doubt, contact the creator.

When in doubt, contact the creator. Very good advise.
