Converting MMD Clothing

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a question about converting low poly clothes into somthing with a bit more vertices to work with. I have been able to use the PMX editor for MMD models and export seperate parts of the clothing as OBJ files which I can import into DS easily. I can easily use the transfer utility to fit the clothes to any character. The problem is that if I try to convert to SubD or sub divide the material start showing seperations at the seams and has strange rounded corners in the material. I have tried to use the Imported objects in VWD after fitting with the transfer utility but the object is so low poly that there are many sharp peaks visible after gravity is applied. Any suggestions?

Subdivision doesn't work particularly well on triangulated meshes, and can also have issues with places where edges do (or don't) meet.

It's been a while since I've last looked at an MMD mesh, but I suspect you're going to need to load it into something like Hexagon or Blender, convert it to quads and weld a load of seams if you want it to work reliably.

OK thanks Matt, I'm not really sure how to do that but it is a start, It seems though that VMD might hav a function for converting triangulated meshes since you mentioned it, but as usual I am not sure where to look to get that info, I'm such a novice, lol.
