Centaur 8 - extra horse textures and other thoughts

Kind of pretty much the same as Cenatur 7... I'm not seeing any big changes or improvements in the design, and what's noticeabley missing is any kind of variation on the horse textures part. I'm waiting until they get the PC+ ediscount to apply to the Pro BUndle before I buy, but in the meantime, I'm wondering if this comes with a powerPose Templte that includes the horse body? That would be a serious reason to upgrade.

well few asked for it and he/she is here Centaur 8 and there are 3 pro bundles, one female pro bundle, one male pro bundle, and guess you could call it ultimate centaur 8 pro bundle with the female and male pro bundles combined also if you have both the femal and male centaur 7 pro bundles extra 20% off as well as extra off if you add an add on or two
I'm suprised that the Centaur 8 Male and Female Bundle are together cheaper than the Centur 8 Bundle
( and yes, I considered the 10 discount for two items in the Card)

Hold on... it looks like there's a pair of products included in the Pro Bundle that aren't included in the seperate male and female bundles - HIdes and Breeds. The links on those descriptions is dead, however, and they don't seem to be available as standalones. This is the same mess they made with the original Horse 2, where the only way to get get all the texture variations was to buy the Pro Bundle.
And hey, why aren't there anatomical element packages for the horse bodies this time around...?

Not sure that I'll buy these as I have the Genesis 3 versions (though the Genesis 8 ones look very nice). I am curious to know if the Daz Horse 2 textures will work with the new versions.
One would think that they'd mention it if they did. Then again, given the simialrity between the 7s and the 8s, they may be using the same geografts. That's what they did with the 7 and 8 male/female anatomical elements and the 7 textures do work on the 8s there,
I would imagine the horse textures would be the same for all.
What I would like to see are textures for the human portion of the figure that match the horse textures. They're fantasy characters, why do they need to have human skin?
I started a Centaur 8 thread just before you did, so these will probably be merged by the Mod Squad. https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/348526/centaur-8-extra-horse-textures-and-other-thoughts#latest ; Note that DAZ has repeated the marketing mistake from the Horse 2 of only making the multiple horse body textures available in the pro bundle, so if you buy the two seperate male/female bundles, the only way to get the additional textures and body morphs is to buy the Pro Bundle and pay for every single other item again..
Yes, I would like to have these too. Maybe some other vendor/PA could make them.

I really hope that this isn't the case. Threads pop up every now and again from people wanting those extra textures for the Horse 2 but who already own everything else in the pro bundle. It was a poor way to treat customers with the horse 2, so I hope that it isn't repeated here.
The one problem that I see is that to get a seamless join with the existing horse bodies, you'd have to duplicate the same texture source that was used on the body... so, while a PA could make a full furred body texture, they'd either have to create a different for every base body texture, or simply create one new set of textures for both human and torso halves. the former would be a lot of work and my not even be possible depending on the usage allowed for the horse-part textures, while the latter would mean that if you wanted to show multiple cenataurs, they'd all be identical texture-wise.

Centaur 8 is a cool release =]. The promotion on the pro bundle wasn't the same as the other pro bundle sales, which was kind of confusing.

No they separate PA from DAZ releases so we will be on another day, hopefully Richard won't delete the post like he usually does !
looks cool Midnight_stories not sure if can afford it yet when released assume in day or two but'll be in my wishlist for future buy for sure. Well G8 has got a lot of interesting variants monsters, aliens and cyborgs and add ons that'll look cool as centaurs can easily see you're character outfit doing battle on alien planets
Midnight_stories - You might have just tipped the balance for me as to whether I buy the new Centaurs. Do you have a female version of the armour planned?

No I thought it was going to be a click of a button but they didn't make any projection maps to do it, I didn't realize this till the Male one was complete, it was way too much work to convert sorry.
But there are other PA why not wait till you see what they have.
If you got a purple banner, note that it looks like the offer expires at midnight UTC -6 MDT. I only mention it because usually when we get a pro bundle release and a purple banner it usually lasts longer. I nearly missed that it expires that quickly and didn't want anyone else caught unawares too. :)

I was really, really, really, really hoping that Centaur 8 would have perfected the transition between the human torso and horse. Even just a little fade would have been a step forward. (update) - just saw this (https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/348551/annicellea-centaur-commercial#latest) so I will just buy the basic centaur 8. Hopefully, he's got some males in his new releases as well on the horizon. The pro bundle really has nothing of interest to me and the temptation to buy something because it has hides and breeds" that may look like horses in cling film isn't enough. I am kind of amazed you can't actually see what hides and breeds are actually on offer before buying - dead link.
The Hides and Breeds also do not seem to appear in the download,, so .. ;)
