I've had The Gazer
http://www.daz3d.com/the-gazer
on my W/L for a long time because as monsters go he is very cool.
I just bought him but I can't find any poses for him anywhere. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
John

I haven't found any, but the eyestalks are really easy to pose in Scene Tab with multi-selecting the bones. I did that for a promo on the Articles of Punishment.

The Gazer is a very old model. At one time there was a texture pack that I believe had some poses. I believe it was a PA product and the PA no longer sells here.

    Yeah...

But, I'm working on some textures for it...and should have them ready, soon...

I've found that fun things happen if you select a couple of eyestalks (all the bones) and use Point at...and point it to the camera or another scene item.

Also, note that because it's such an old model, the materials need a fair bit of tweaking to look good in both Poser and D|S. The textures themselves are still good, but with the more modern surfaces functions, if you poke about at the parameters you can get this little critter looking even uglier... I mean, better. ;-)

He needs some poses...and maybe a few morphs...maybe even being converted to weight-mapping...

    @ SickleYield:
Thanks for the posing advice, works like a charm!

I used Dimension Theory's Subsurface Toolbox to give Gazer some nice Daz Studio shaders. Say hello to Gazer 2.0. :)

You might want to try downloading Gazer again, yours appears to be broken; mine doesn't have that drooling problem.

I wish there was tongue morph. I'd like him to be able to stick it out. :)

I saw this thread and it reminded me of an old project I started with "The Gazer". I was able to find some old scene files and I updated them to make some new clips. I threw them together last night and uploaded to youtube. I increased the bump on the texture map to add more detail and used oscilatting tweeners to get the movement (along with mjc1016's "point at" trick). Some new textures would be nice, though.

You could always try the i13 Supertongue by ironman13 over at rendo, it is meant V4 but as it is a morphable prop you can use it with any figure you like, DS & Poser Mats, & a number of shape presets to get you started. I don't have Gazer so can't fit it to that but here it is against a default Genesis with the wide/narrow morph wound up a touch (well actually about 300%), but you get the idea :)

Don't think we are supposed to link directly to other stores but a quick search on Rendo should locate it for you, and currently on sale at 30% off.

Edit: Just added a quick render of it fitted to Zubarra.
