Satyr with dForce hair - by RawArt

Can I just say, from the very bottom of my soul how grateful and thankful I am for the release of this product. I am truly beside myself and lost for words. Thank you RawArt, so very much. He is absolutely perfect. I couldn't ask for more.

On another note, England is playing South Africa today in the rugby world cup, and if England wins, this may truly be the greatest day of my life.

RawArt is one of those vendors whose products sit at the unfortunate intersection of things that I want but can't really justify buying. However, today the sale stars aligned, and this became my first RawArt purchase.

And on a Satyrday, on top of it.  Sadly, the rugby didn't go so well.

I've never heard a ruckus like rugby in a pub in Ireland or the UK. It was a real good laugh. I hope the loosing sides didn't wager anything.

I too am grateful for the Satyr. I've spent way too much for a month where I wasn't going to spend a lot so he's wish-listed for now. But can I say that whoever thought of the $1.99 for a day sale is truly evil

Thanx........I loosely based the face on the actor from that "Pennyworth" series

(cuz that is what I was watching at the time and thought "he's a good looking dude")

  • I just acquired the magnificent Satyr. He's great, thank you RawArt... your products are great.( BIggun, Pete ...wooowww :) )
I was able to make some superb renderings....but without the fur!!!.
Actually I have a problem ... Herre  how Satyr appears in my Daz when I add the fur... I can't understand why... it disappears when I remove the fur (hoof, tail, legs)... Can anyone explain it to me?
    Thank you so much.

Which version of Daz Studio? Do you get any errors on loading the fur?

It's a fabulous character and I very much want to use him in a current project. However - I am having the same problem and I'm at a loss to figure out what to do. The Morphs are fine. The Hair comes out as blocks. I did a Manual Install of all the assets - three times now (yes, I'm obsessive) - and still it won't play nice.

Sorry...this problem was just pointed out to me here.

I am sorry that I am not able to recreate the issue, so I cannot offer any advice. Do you have other d-hair products that do work? Because like others have mentioned, it might be a version problem. Make sure you are up to date with d/s

  • Both up to date, and if that doesn't solve it, make sure to download the dforce hair starter content (not at my computer, so I don't recall the exact name of the file, but it should be available to download if you have studio I believe). Not sure if the starter pack had any required files, but can't hurt to check.

Getting bounding boxes instead of mesh is a result of DS not being able to build the mesh properly due to missing files.

I have contacted a number of people, including daz's tech department and they cannot recreate the issue....so this is something you will have to contact daz's customer support about. They are the best to sort through any issues specific to your machine.

Sorry there is not more I can do.

  • Did the update - works like a charm. Thank you!

ok...glad it got sorted out :)

@rawart, would you consider updating this product with the morphs separated out? A leg morph to make it easier to use the legs with a different figure, a body and/or head morph to use the character without the legs, and the ridges on the head strictly optional?

    Short answer..."no"

Long answer is that a set that could be universally used with different characters would be a completely different product, not an update. Those types of sets are triple the workload (at least) and require a totally different approach as to how it would be built than a regular character.

I should add that the hooves and tail are geografts, so they can be used without the character morphs...they just wont be quite as cool.

  • I'm having issues as well. I have loaded the latest DAZ3D. I load the satyr character. Add the texture. Load the fur (and the program says its there) but it won't show up or render. All I see is the motled skin of her legs, no actual fur. Can any one help? Somone mentioned dforce hair starter content earler. What is this and where do I get it if its needed?

    Thanks

  • Is there any way to make the dforce fur on the legs look thicker or fluffier? I like the character but the fur renders out rather flat. I can't even tell its there really in the renders.
