Which generation is the figure? There are various products in the store to make brands like that look more natural.

i doubt that is the case since my figures legs never look like that. probably an issue with a bad morph somewhere. maybe make noted of the active morphs, then zero all of them out and see if it still exists

    Hi,

I'll try that but this happens constantly with poses from most vendors.

I wonder if it has to do with poses being converted.

It is a very annoying problem.

Agreed.  I had a product which was supposed to improve the bends in G2F but it ended up causing lots of issues like the one you are seeing. Sometimes it seems that some morph sets don't mix well with others. I'd look at what you have installed recently, particularly if morphs are included, and systematically eliminate them. That's how I found the problem with G2.

    Hi,

I am convinced it has to do with the pose converter doing something odd to the mesh.

I've found the some poses work fine untill I correct them with the pose converter. Once I correct 1 pose any other poses distort.

Even if I zero the figure and both shape and pose it does not change. I think a lot of vendors are converting older poses so they come in

    with this problem.

It is a major inconvenience if I have all of my lighting set up clothing loaded as  I don't want to start the entire scene over.

My solution is a bit of a pain, however it works.

    1) I select G8 and save a Wearable preset with everything in my scene even if it not currently being used in the scene,

    2) Delete everything in the scene except the lights or props that not parented to G8.

    3) Go to frame 1 and load a fresh G8

    4) On frame 1 Select the new G8 and load the Wearable preset that I saved.

    5) Everything comes in conformed to G8 and I am fine until apply a wonky pose so I save that fresh scene before I apply any pose.

    Hi,

If it is an offending morph, I also intend to try to find the culpirt.

this happened to me a couple of times.

select your character and go to the parameters tab.  check 'show hidden morphs' up in the tab settings, then click 'currently used' or whatever it is, and scroll down through the list.  look for a hidden morph that has values dialed in at a noticeably high setting--over 100 percent, probably, with distortion like that.

    hope that works for you!

credit where credit is totally due:  i believe valzheimer gave me the solution back when i was having the problem (and it was driving me crazy).

    :)

    Hi Jardine,

Thanks so much for the valuable info. I will try that tomorrow.

    Hi,

I now believe it must have to do with an abberant morph as Jardine has mentioned, (which I really appreciate)

    Here is my troubleshooting:

    I loaded a clean G8 into a clean scene.

Applied a pose to the unmorphed version of G8

Applied a V7 pose which distorted her

Applied the Pose correction. The pose correction worked perfectly.

Next i applied a shape I use  frequently. Her legs maintained their perfect shape.

I did this a number of times and her legs continued to maintained their perfect shape.

This leaves me to surmise vendor poses and pose converter are working perfectly.

It must be as Jardine's valuable info points out, an abberant morph.

Until I find the the abberant morph I will continue with waiting to apply the shapes until after the pose since at least with this system

I can get clean , undistorted legs.

Thanks so much for everyone's valuable help.

what was the V7 pose that distorted her?

if it's something i have, i'll take a look at it.

    Hi Jardine,

The V7 pose was a vendor pose which I used on G8. Had I used it on V7 would not have made the arms wacky.

It did not distort the legs it just made the arms wacky which is normal because the pose was not for G8.

As soon as I used the pose converter on G8 it instantly fixed the arms.

So basically with the system I used in the comment above, I had no leg distortion.

I do believe you are correct that it has something to do with a morph which I will eventually find.

Now, with the info from you, at least I can finish promos then when I have more time I'll find that pesky morph.

    Happy Holidays
