The Shadow Qabbalah Bundle gone to the Dogs (Pun intended)

Okay, so I have been trying to be really good and not spend any more money this month. But then Arki, Shox-Design and Darwin Mishap(s) had to go and create this awesome re-vamped bundle for Genesis 8. Throw in a couple of dogs, (along with a couple of PC for a day choices), a gift certificate sale, and my unused PC Daz coupon and I was done.
I hope to create some scenes soon. Have to finish rendering what I have but if anyone wants to show off there renders...there you go
Thank you for a beautiful new outfit and character

Almost an hour to simulate, then two hours to render, which I stopped at 90%, I have a render to start this off. The character is lovely, and I became lost in all the possible choices for her. Just barely looked at the Addon package. The outfit is interesting and I tried a dance pose with it. I don't feel I did her justice. Or Arki or Darwins Mishap(s) or Shox-Design's creativity. But this is my first render of https://www.daz3d.com/qabbalah-hd-for-genesis-8-female and https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-shadowdancer-outfit-for-genesis-8-females and I hope they will forgive me.

I think it's lovely. Interesting pose with the temple of Xion. Hmmm I think I should pick that up while it's still on sale
When I saw some of Arki's older work getting redone I was really hoping this was on the list. Has anyone tried messing around with the HD addon and other characters?
I have. It's definitely interesting, but I'm not sure how much I'll end up using it. That's the only part of the bundle I bought, and I guess maybe I was hoping for it to be a more conventional skeleton or something.
I'm an Arki insta-buyer. I had to rejig the materials for the skin in the add-on (that could be me not having a clue...) but Qabbalah was fun to play with. :)
Nice, Mary! I grabbed Temple of Xion too. It's been on my wishlist for while. :)
Thanks everyone. Kaye Kaye I think your render has a great warmth to it and motion. I think this character lends herself to an ArtDeco treatment.
I did test the addon and tried turning the character into a male, then using the choices of materials to get close to an author's description of one of his characters, who has translucent skin, with only hands, feet, groin, and head opaque. It came very close. Now I have to recreate when I have time, and try to see if the UV Swap will allow me to use the materials on his saved character, or I will have to create a separate version of him from the addon actor.
I am continually amazed at how the PAs anticipate our needs, even when we don't express them on the forums.
Can someone help? When I used the Qabbalah Painted under Figures/Female (smart content) I get this. Any idea what im doing wrong? Standard eviroment with dome on and render settings.
@Daventaki: In which order have you installed the base character and the addon?
The addon needs to be installed last, so it can overwrite a few texture maps. These need to be replaced in order for the addon materials to render correctly.
Hope this helps!
Ok, let me know if it works. If not, you can also contact me through PMs here in the forum.
I believe I know what the problem is, in case you don't get it to work.
How will it work with Connect if a set of maps needs replacing? Both will exist on dsc as Connect keeps each product in its own folder.
Arki,
First thank you for the information on installation order. I also had that weird result. This afternoon I uninstalled and reinstalled both files in your given order.
Just had a chance to test the Qabbalah HD Addon and I think it is fixed. But to be sure, I am attaching a quick render for your review.
Mary
@memcneil70: That looks correct. That's how she is supposed to look like with the addon.
@Richard Haseltine: I always install my files manually, so I wouldn't know about connect. If you want to use the Qabbalah Addon, you will have to replace these texture maps from the addon product in the Runtime/Textures/Arki/Qabbalah/character folder: AK_QABArmsTRL2.jpg, AK_QABFaceTRL2.jpg, AK_QABLegsTRL2.jpg and AK_QABTorsoTRL2.jpg
The base character uses modified versions of these maps, and the addon needs the updated ones.
Thank you.
Got it fixed with the reinstall, Thanks again Arki!!
Glad it works now! Happy rendering!
Does this mean that installing the add on permanently changes the base?
No, it only replaces some of the texture maps. They function just fine with the base.
OK, thank you - I was just a little confused.
I just used the gift card code that was part of today's (and weekend) sale and spent only $26.23 instead of $34.97!
keep it up Arki!
Finally able to get my render completed: The Ice Queen's Heart
Finally got my image done!
Q: does the addon work without Qabbalah? Meaning applying it to another character? (I have not bought Qabbalah yet)
Many thanks in advance.
I'm in love with the possibilities of the addon.
Beatiful work!
It’ll throw up some errors, but it does work.
Thanks for the quick reply @Gordig
Hope the errors can be fixed with some post work...Guess I'm buying it.
When I say it throws up errors, I just mean that DS is looking for some files that don’t exist if you don’t have the base. They don’t appear to affect the functionality that I can see, and wouldn’t require any fixing.
@Gordig thanks for telling me...Amazing!
Here's what I mean about the errors. You dismiss those, then click "stop asking" when a prompt to find the files comes up, then dismiss the errors again after it loads.
When it's finished, you're left with this.
I haven't looked too closely at the actual Qaballah character, so I don't know if there's anything actually missing from it, but it looks okay to me.
Thanks for the graphic explanation @Gordig
This is my first attempt to use the Add-on.... Nothing fancy... sooooo much fun to try out!!!!

P.S. I have just noticed Miellyn was created by the same team of artists... thanks for letting our imagination flow...
