Install downloads using DAZ install manager from backed up zip files

with a problem with my Hard drive I find I need to reinstall a lot of my DAZ studio content , However at the moment I have a bit limited internet connection both in terms of speed and download data allowence. I did always down load stuff manually and then store the original zip files on an external hard drive .These files I still have ive tried putting them in to the folder where Ive told DAZ install manager to look for files waiting for install but they are not showing .Ive checked the box work in off line mode as I thought just show DAZ install manager where the files are and let it get on with it as I have many gigabytes of content to reinstall. is what I am trying to do even possible??

Did you pull the files down, originally, with DIM?  If so, than all you should need do is point DIM's Package Archive setting under Downloads tab in the Configuration dialog (click the little cog in top right).  They should then appear as ready to install.

Do these products appear in the Manifests folder already? (From when you previously installed them) If so then you would need to remove them from there (I would back them up first just in case), or go to Installed Products and mark them all for reinstall.

  • mostly downloaded manually with out using DIM and some items came from other places such as renderosity and runtime DNA and others

  • I did a fresh install of DAZ studio when i upgraded my OS to windows 10

  • NO ones im trying to do are not listed in the manifests folder

There is a product (or two, now maybe) that suggest they will help (or fully) automate mass installs of content over at Renderosity

  • ok any idear what its called

  • ok I found it now I will give that a try if it will do what I want it to

  • And this is not something that DIM can do?

  • DIM will show the files unless there's some other issue (assumng you are looking in the Ready To Install tab).

DIM can only install content packaged for it (which requires a particular structure and an "instructions" text file which tells it what to do with what's in the zip, among other things).

Most content from other stores is not packaged for DIM.

It should be able to install DIM files you have in your backup though.
