DnD races

I started role playing last year and the game was a scifi home brew, this year my role playing group introduced me to Dungeons and Dragons. I wanted to do some art for our group's characters. Most of them I can manage fine using LY Fantasy Races HD Faces and Bodies, which I already own. Elf, Dwarf, and halfling.

But for a tiefling I'm not really sure what to use. Would the gnome shape with some tweeks work? Elf with some tweeks? Or should I use something completely different?

For a dragonborn gold do you have any suggestions? It's a male character, so I would prefer G3M or G8M.

Not sure what exactly you are after.

But have you tried looking in RawArts catalogue - I think he might have something to your likeness?

Tieflings look like a half human and half demon mix, with horns and tails, right? A bit like the Dremora in the Elder Scrolls universe?

Perhaps searching the store for "demon" and then for "horns" might be useful?

Crawk for G3 could make a good Dragonborn, maybe with some fins added from one of the Dragon 2 sets Black Dragon?)

    Tara 2 (G3F, I think) for a female Tiefling?

Not sure about a male, maybe Incubus (G2?) but you'd have to add horns from one of the packs available.

    Please post any pics.

I'm still learning the races myself, so I wasn't sure what a tiefling looked like until just now doing a google search. Should have started with that. I can use Damien probundle to create him.

Just checked, Incubus is an expansion for FW Sebastian and is G2M.

Here are some picture of a dragonborn. Dragkon for Genesis 8 Male from Rawart is the best for what I'm looking for so far, but in the game dragonborn don't have wings. I also don't already own Dragkon and he's pricey. Cheaper alternitives?

  • A Tiefling would depend on the character's specific heritage; Tanaari are not known for their restraint and so there is great variation in the offspring. And there's also their version of the One Drop Rule where the quadroons and octaroons are still considered Tiefling even though superficially there is little to belie their lineage. And since there is more variation in Tanaari than there is in humanoids, exactly which type of Tanaari it was would be the greatest factor in the character's appearance. You could do anything... Do you really want get another vaguely elven looking Tiefling? Have fun with your group... D&D is the greatest game ever.

Another possibility is a mix between this:

and HFS shapes. Or some of the demon figures that exist

    Great suggestions, thanks!

  •  are you on facebook? one of the groups I'm in is a dnd art group lots post various images drawn, sculpted and 3d like us so you could get a lot of info inspiration there D&D Fantasy Art https://www.facebook.com/groups/747028982139688/  and the group has a search engine in it anyways did search there and from looks of it a tiefling looks like a elf with long pointy ears with a tail goaty type lower legs hooves. Shape of horns vary from long horns going back to curved ram horns, skin tone varies too. Face wise cute innocent nice friendly mostly or at least that's how most have drawn them so perhaps the anima toon types be good starting bases- actually in last nights sale Totes Adorbs those two ladies in the promo look pretty close facially to style of tiefling I've seen.

  • For D&D races (and a whole lot of other stuff), this is an amazing product:

Its only morphs, so you will need to do your own textures, but the range of shapes possible pretty much covers all the bases for fantasy races.  Add some horns and tails for certain ones and you are good to go.
