hi i was at walmart and came a cross a movie that had a few of the daz mechs on the front and back dvd cover it was some kind of sci fi $3.99 bin
when back today it was gone ! i just need to find it again the name slips my mind
Comments
or the DAZ mechs were "inspired" by it
I've never seen any movies....only small independent things like Aurora and Rosa (which are both VERY good btw).
Laurie
and TV shows like Bones
AngliCare here in Oz have a commercial on TV that is done with 3DU toon characters... that's about all I've seen.
Without having more to go on, I'd suggest checking this list, and then maybe the '2000s' list if you don't spot the DVD cover you remember seeing:
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls000097338/?sort=list_order,asc&st_dt=&mode=detail&page=1
That's sci fi cinema for the 2010's. There's also a Sci Fi TV link near the top of that page, just in case what you saw might have been a TV series or something,
And as mentioned above, a few of the models from the store are inspired by movies. Specifically, I"m thinking of that Tom Cruise movie Oblivion, from 2013. There's a model or two in the store that are inspired by the hardware seen in that movie.
I don't know about Daz, but there's a really famously bad movie called "After Last Season" that uses some of the old Poser character figures in it during some "dream" sequences.
DAZ actually posted some short segments of scenes from Bones on their YouTube channel once but it got removed for content copyright
a few threads on this in past

I recall that Valandar's quad tank was used in one of those syfy mutant shark masterpieces... Sharktopus I think ? I believe that Valandar started a thread about it - title something like "Should I Be Offended?"
Personally I can't understand why the movie wasn't nominated for an Oscar.

double post apologies!
I think https://www.daz3d.com/ruths-redemption was used in the TV series "Firefly" and the movie off-shoot "Serenity" for long shots of the town by that name.
3DU Toon Generations One is in a clip of Sid the Science Kid dreaming. That is a PBS Kids Educational Show. I don't know which episode though. They usually do chalkboard stick figure drawings for Sid's dream but in this case it was Toon Generations One instead. I find the dream sequences are the best part of that show. The main characters in non-dream sequences are like yellow 'The Simpsons' style 3D puppets.
Reptisaurus has the original Wyvern and one of my textures on it

Nightwish's Imaginaerum features a few :)
Cool....never knew about that one
Not a movie, and I wouldn't hold it up as a great example of DAZmanship, but it is three hours long and I'm sure that the brief people animations in this science documentary are early DAZ people. Especially the guy at 35:05. He looks an awful lot like an out-of-the-box Michael3. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ67q4pv0HI
PS: This video (if you ignore the few brief amateurish people animations), is a collection of a series of easy to follow explanations of things like Relativity(speed of light & gravity stuff), Quantum Mechanics(particle/wave duality), Quantum Electrodynamics(the Electromagnetic Force, electron tunneling & entanglement), and Quantum Chromodynamics(Quarks & the Strong Force) Unfortunately, it doesn't cover the Weak Force and radioactivity very well, but that is pretty complicated.
There was a movie I saw once that used Victoria 3 or Victoria 4, for some animations..
This viral Game of Thrones Westworld mash used Daz3d. https://www.theverge.com/2019/4/28/18521747/game-of-thrones-westworld-westerosworld-gilles-augustijnen-opening-credits-watch
A couple of movies by the Wachowskis, Cloud Atlas and Jupiter Ascending, are based in part on concept art by Stefan Morrell, better known hereabouts as Stonemason.
Cheers,
Alex.
Not a full length film but, at the empty venue WrestleMania that just passed, they used https://www.daz3d.com/the-fallen-one-hd-for-genesis-3-male in a still image, as part of the match between John Cena and Bray Wyatt
