How can I pause and continue rendering an animation later?

Hi!

So, how can I pause and save and continue rendering later?

I saw some mentions about Resume button but I don't see it anywhere. And Save Last Render I only see as 'black' option, not something I can choose.

Also, can I pause, do something else in daz like other still images and go back to rendering the animation I paused before?

Thanks in advance, as I feel utterly lost.

For animations, I would really suggest rendering them as image series and making them into a video in a video editing program. Animations take a long time to render, and the chance of a crash making all your work go to waste is quite high. I would also not recommend pausing a render just to do another render--if you are using Iray, both renders will occupy your graphic card's memory and the possibility of Iray deciding it doesn't have enough memory and rendering with the CPU is quite higher. If your workflow requires you to do a lot of renders, I would suggest getting a batch renderer tool so that you can queue them and just having them done while you are away from the computer.

  • Yes.

Render them as an image series. when you need to stop, just cancel the animation, and when you come back to resume just pick up at the frame you left off.
