Seriously. I'm sick of it popping up and every time it does I have to go back and reset my mat cap.
I hate it.
I absolutely HATE THE PIE MENU!

F3 to search for the Pie Menu addon and disable it.
F3 shows me what's in my scene.
I want to be able to press the Z key and NOT have the ( damned bloody) pie menu come up.
edit > preferences, put pie in the search and uncheck "interface: 3d viewport pie menus" I think will turn it off. Unless you have other addons that add pies in.
If you're talking the pie menu that comes up in sculpt mode, and you're using the default keymap, go into your hotkeys and search by name "face sets edit" and click the X to remove the binding.
I've tried that. It still comes up when I press Z and given that Z is one of the axes for rotate and translate, it's not going to stop happening. I think I'll have to learn to live with it.
I'm not advanced enough yet to even know what "face sets edit" means.
It means the words "face", "sets" and "edit" in a continuous sequence separated by spaces appearing on your screen.
Edit:-> Preferences-> Keymap: In the search field at top right of that window, type:- shading
There will be: 3d view-> shading. You can disable that key/change the key binding.
You don't have to know what it means to type it into a search box.
I swear this post said W initially. -_-
Shift Z switches between Wire and solid/textured, which is what I'm normally switching between. No need to edit preferences.
It worked.
Thanks to everyone.
Funnily enough though........I've just discovered the Shift S Pie Menu and I like it.
I didn't think I would but I can see the use of it and I think it's great.
The pies are useful for stuff not often used, other shortcuts all the way.
