Leaping Lizards - Reptilian 6? What's next?

So, first we got a Minotaur, now we get a Lizardman? If this follows through in the same way the Genesis monsters did, there's at least one more waiting in the wings. Anyone want to take bets on what it (or they) will be?

I'd buy a remake of Nybras in a second, but no complaints about what we're getting so far. These lizardmen look very cool. :)

To say I'm shocked is an understatement. I haven't bought Minotaur 6 and now this - week after. How am I supposed to choose?

I'd bet on Troll 6 to be next. It's iconic enough to appear...

I've been meaning to do a lizardman series - a bit of a planet of the reptiles type thing... so I might find myself smashing the piggybank as the "free" labels don't seem to be quite right, hehehe

For such highly details in HD, it would be nice if the next monster Daz releases didn't have such clean and shiny teeth, fingernails, and toenails.

If it is, I hope it's a totally different Troll design. I think the Genesis Troll, Brute and Gorilla all were adequate, and there are plenty of various Lycanthropes out there. I'd really like a centaur, a demon type creature would be useful, but the one thing that's never really been perfectly done is a cyclops.

But hey, I'm still waiting on Belle and Brodie to come back on sale before I jump into the new round of monsters.

I'm really hoping it'll be something insectoid (or possibly mollusc-like)... There's a sad lack of content along those lines for Genesis or Genesis 2. Big, muscular humanoids are relatively generic, IMO, but the ability to add some very inhuman-looking limbs, heads, jaws and so on, would do absolute wonders for diversity. Mammalian-looking humanoids are too generic for my own projects.

I adore reptilian creations, though! Fingers crossed Raw Art is planning a version for Genesis 2 Females, like they did for the Minotaur! I'd really love to be able to use similar Reptilian skins/morphs with the G2F Succubus set and Raw's own Medusa products.

Hoping we get an equivalent tail for Genesis 2 Female, too.

Similarly, I can't express how grateful I am that the Reptilian now allows me to dial in proper dinosaur-like legs/feet. The Creature Creator gave us the advent of digitigrade legs, but nothing like these. I have a vastly overwhelming preference for demonic creatures to have dinosaur-like legs/feet, rather than hooves, personally.

Considering how many options there are for altering their appearance in 'Skyrim', that would be quite a project.

I'm definitely hoping there'll be a G2F version and/or that the Succubus serpent trunk will be transferred over for G2M use, so that I can replicate one of my favourite fantasy book covers (which I never actually read, as it required dice and statistic and such, but I loved that cover):

Ohh, how I would KILL for a male drider (half drow, half spider), like in the Forgotten Realms stories.

Not a female one like the Poser for V4 Ariadne, but one for the men like all driders are. (Poor bastards are punished by Lloth and turned into half man, half spider creations who are virtual zombies to the priestesses who control them.

    Unlikely, but here's hoping!

Using Gen x and Cross figure resource kit (to transfer legs an tail) the reptilian morphs transferred rather nicely to G2F.
Fingers still crossed that someone has a centaur in the works.

    Heh, I'd definitely like a G2F half-arachnid, personally. :) It's a shame there's such a gender-split for creature-based figures, these days.

Of course, I'd also like someone to do a more recent giant spider or even normal-sized funnelweb which could be scaled up... There are two great gigantic spiders in the store, but when you stand them next to some of the modern, HD-quality figures, they don't quite look right, sadly.

However, for the Reptilian, I'm also hoping someone makes a crocodilian character, so that we can morph and lengthen that snout, as well as serpentine characters, with an elongated neck and/or morphs to create long, needle-like fangs (or possibly geografted versions, so that they can hinge back inside the mouth, as on real snakes). Could see a cobra-like hood being made for that, too.

Maybe a set of different types of dorsal spikes, like for Dragon 3, also (which would then necessarily have to go along the tail, too). And I could definitely see some reptilian wings to match all the available textures, to allow it to be the equivalent of 'Dragonfolk' for the Dragon 3 model (although, in that case, there'll certainly be a need for a G2F companion to go with it).

Actually, if a G2F version is planned, it strikes me that the texturing might be easier for that one. Just follow Raw Art's Medusa texture set and you'd effectively have pre-made templates, as well as allowing the Medusa set to have even more uses.

Using Gen x and Cross figure resource kit (to transfer legs an tail) the reptilian morphs transferred rather nicely to G2F.

Yeah, figured it would. That product's still a bit too expensive for me to purchase, unfortunately. Every time I have enough money for when it goes on discount, there's something else I'm more in need of... It's the curse of the Daz sales.

I hope the next one is a werewolf. I haven't really liked any that are out there so far. I am hoping for something that looks like it came the White Wolf rpg games.

Anyway, love the new creatures, wish they could have waited til after the New Year. December is a dry month for DAZ toys for me.

A reptile at last that has the nicest 3D scaly skin I can imagine! Those are handsome guys, I admit. It is not that they will make up for the lack of human males, but the variety is impressive. I fell in love with the minotaur (and shouldn't have got him with all the trimmings, but I did), now finally I may be able to create some Maru. Not now as there are no crocodile morphs as of yet, but the base was given. Just look at those guys with the wide smilies and breastplate-covered lil' tummies: http://rpguniverse.forumfree.it/?t=61452468. Aren't they CUUUTE?!

Yes, a centaur would be impressive, especially since DAZ Horse 2 could be used!

You could try to make your own... Use primitives to make an arachnid lower body (surely, creating the legs - and then posing them - will take lots of time). Spheres should be useful. Then load a male morph, hide the lower parts, place him inside the spider and parent them to each other. It could work.

I'm breaking my lurker status to say how pleasantly surprised I was with this! I was just looking for a reptillian figure/morph the other day, and now I see this. Not sure I can afford it right away, but it's def. going on my wishlist. I just have to ask: can we mix/match morphs, or is it a full-on morph? I only ask, b/c I wouldn't mind things like the tail and some of the digitgrade legs, but not the whole thing. If that makes sense.

Also, my one request: if anyone does a female version of this for G2F (i.e. Taurette to Minotaur 6)... no breasts, please? The biology nerd in me is okay with large hips (gotta bear the load of them eggs somehow), but breasts would kill my suspension of disbelief. I get asking that is like throwing the contents of a glass of water in an airplane fan and not expecting to get splashed back on, but ehh... I guess there's dials for that sort of thing, lmao. XP

Yep, the Diana and Jones Outfit for Genesis 2 Male(s) and Female(s) includes morph support for Teen Jayden 6, but is mislabeled as "Hyden 6"... :)

agree with you there just need a giant toad to lead them and there's plenty of stuff to play around with for their weapons and enviroments/buildings basically the aztek look stuff. some good gen2 skeletons would be good for undead army combined with withered and the zombies already for gen2. those lizard legs would be good with a human texture hide the top half and add the top half of a gen2 female for a daemontte I tried doing one with other figures. lobster types claws to replace hands would be good too, mandibles, preying mantis arms attatched to arms or shoulders as secondry arms. if the minotaur and lizardman are any indication we will soon be able to create a lot of warhammer/wh40k renders and other stuff as well with me be able to recreate a lot of stuff done years ago in other forms

If you have the genesis female morphs, there is a dial to remove breasts.

It's difficult to say... It apparently includes a 'Full Body Shape' and 'Head Shape', but also something called a 'Control Parameter'. Not sure if that last would allow for complete or partial control over some of it.

I'm hoping for the latter, as I really like to mix-and-match with various creature characters. I'd especially like to be able to use the digitigrade legs (and tail) with completely different figures. Would like to be able to have control over the snout/jaw length, too.

Waiting for a day or two before I purchase this, which means I can't investigate. The Minotaur wasn't of relevance to my projects, but I remember there was a lot of stuff which came out for that, very shortly after it hit the store. There might be some character or clothing stuff which is of more use than what's in the bundles, which would let me budget, accordingly.

The Reptilian's clothing is especially useful, as anything for the lower body would be able to double for other tailed characters, like Roark 2, too. Not to mention, the Succubus set's tail.

Don't tell anyone, but DAZ will be following up the Reptilian 6 HD with the Repteens, two adorable teen lizard-persons who spend their time hanging out at the mall, skateboarding and studying. The scaliest students at Reptile High, the Repteens can be purchased individually, or as part of a bundle that includes textures and make-up (Joanna Goanna, the female Repteen, likes to experiment with lipstick, even though she doesn't really have lips), clothing (snakeskin boots -- so very controversial, oh my!) and poses (leaping, lying on a rock sunbathing, shedding tail and escaping).

    Available SOON.

There is something about the teeth that I don't like. I find it highly distracting. Perhaps they look so uniform like teeth on a jack'0'lantern. I don't know what it is it bugs me... I would buy the critter but there is just something about the teeth.... I like the figure better when it's mouth is closed.

Curious how the skin applies to Genesis 2 male without the lizard morphs.

If anything, the teeth should really be sharper, not less. But I'd imagine those of us with the HD dental morph set, from Zev, should be able to alter that in all manner of ways. Possibly including the needle-like fangs I mentioned earlier.
