Has anyone been experimenting with the Generation 4 characters in Iray? I did a search and couldn't find anything. I would appreciate a point in the right direction if there is a thread started already! :)

I started too, but I don't think I saved what I did? I plan on doing that with the new character I have, so I'll be sure to post things as they go.

--found them, but I don't have the settings yet. I know this piece just had the IRAY base shader and I set the displacement to 2.

Started to piddle with SSS settings- as you can tell, they're reaaaaally red. I used glass for the eye surface and added a Reality plane above him to help with the lighting in the HDR map I put into the environment.

I don't use V4 and M4 now, but I sure do use their skins in Iray! Here's Silver's Fawne from Rendo (morphs are a mixture from my library, since the Fawne morphs were for V4/G1).

It's possible to get surprisingly good results on a set with no spec maps, contrary to what you might expect. Putting bump maps in the top coat too seems to help. If you're interested you should definitely pop into the Fiddling with Skin thread and look at what people are doing with settings:

They look a lot better on Genesis 2 than they do on M4.

Check my gallery for a shot of Morris's Aaron on Genesis 2 Male. I think it looks awesome.
