Not workng. Can't download my last purchase and it says only 1 item is installed although I have well over 1500.

Weird. Figured it out. Went back into my order history and it wasn't there. Went back to my cart and it's still there! The order went through and I got a confirmation. Good thing it was just the freebie. I ordered it again and now it shows up. Must have just been a hiccup.

Can someone explain me why DIM keeps installing to two different locations?

My documents, public, my daz library

    my documents, user/..../ my library

I just found my brand new Genesis 3 content in the first location, when I have specified in the DIM for these to be installed in the second location.

Would be very nice if you people would keep a single format for installing files and not install it where ever you see fit, despite having specified in the DIM to use 1 location (the second).

After adding the second location, did you switch Current to that location?

  • Quick question folks, Is there a 64bit version of the Install Manager?

    John

There is only 32 bit, which runs just fine on a 64 bit system. Install Manager gets nowhere near the memory limits of 32 bit.

DAZ 3D is pleased to announce the next public version of DAZ Install Manager - version 1.1.0.41!

What is new in this version?

The 1.1.0.41 version makes improvements to, or fixes issues discovered since, the 1.1.0.28 General Release. More detail on specific fixes/changes/improvements can be found in the Change Log, which can be viewed online within the Documentation Center portion of our site. All new downloads of DAZ Install Manager will be of this version.

    1.1.0.41 highlights are:

    1) The Valentina based CMS has been removed from the standard distribution, and is no longer installed by default. Current versions of Install Manager, DAZ Studio and Carrara all now use/prefer the PostgreSQL based CMS - which can be downloaded and installed using Install Manager. Users that have anti-virus/firewall compatibility conflicts with PostgreSQL (i.e. ZoneAlarm) can request the Valentina based CMS installer via Customer Support; this will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.

*Note: Previous installations of the Valentina based CMS are not exported, stopped or uninstalled as part of this update; users should export/backup data, stop and/or uninstall the service as desired post-conversion.

    2) Implemented support for URI commands that omit the account identifier. This allows commands to be sent from external sources (i.e. DAZ Studio, Carrara, html, etc) using the daz3dim URI scheme; see the Change Log for more detail.

    3) Implemented support for the [experimental] “bundle” URI command. This command is used to retrieve the SKUs of the bundled products, which is then used to construct a filter and populate the Filter Field, thereby filtering the lists of packages to only those provided by the bundle.

*Note: The bundled SKUs are determined by the store, not install Manager itself. The store's response is currently based on the most recently purchased bundle that provided a given SKU for a given account. Products that have been manually added to an account, without a proper order (i.e. through interaction with Customer Service or a "mass grant"), have no association to a specific bundle and may not be in the resulting filter.

    4) Implemented support for the “filter” URI command. This command is used to populate the Filter Field and thereby filter the lists of packages being displayed.

    5) Implemented support for using the “download” URI command without specifying an account. This command is used to trigger the start of a download for a associated with the account, and therefore requires an active connection.

    6) Implemented support for using the "refresh" URI command without specifying an account. This command is used to trigger a refresh of the package lists.

    7) Extended the "refresh" URI command to support page switching.

    8) Added a "Share Filter…" option to the bottom of the Filter Menu. This option allows you to share custom filters that you create, by turning the current filter into a URI command that you can paste into a message to another user.

    9) Added support for "sub-filtering". This allows filters to use " && " (space, ampersand, ampersand, space) to refine the filtered results; i.e. tag::all::rx::^.*PublicBuild$ && type::Plugin

    10) Several updates/improvements have been made to the Default Filters; SKU ranges and Release Channels.

How do I get the latest version?

If you have previously installed the Install Manager application and the computer it is installed on is connected to the internet, you can simply launch the application and log into your account. Once connected, you will be notified that an update has been detected and you will be prompted to "Update" or "Work Offline". Click the "Update" button and the application will take care of the rest.

Optionally, you can locate, download and install the application from the Product Library [once you are logged into your account] by entering "Install Manager" into the text field near the top left of the page and clicking the "Filter" button, or by clicking here for Windows users, or here for Mac users.

If this is your first time downloading and/or installing Install Manager, simply follow this link, click the "download free now" button on the page and then run the downloaded installer.

*Note: If you are on a computer running the Windows operating system, you have an nVidia based graphics card installed along with another non nVidia graphics card (e.g. an Ivy bridge CPU), you have a recent graphics driver installed and you experience a crash during the uninstaller phase of the update... it is recommended that you download the installer from the Product Library (see above) and run it manually.

    Is there any documentation?

Yes, documentation is located here. Clicking the "Help" button in the top right corner of the application main window will launch your [default] browser to the same location.

  • Why are these items popping up over and over again?
A Cosy Kitsch Living Room PS
    A Curious Tea Drink Me
    Heracles for Genesis
    L-XV Furniture Pack2 Legacy Ps( I don't even know why there's a legacy version. I use DS4.8 and PP2014)
    Ron's Digital Energy
    Wild Borders DS

Just wondering.... I made a screenshot also and I'll try to attach it...

There seems to be a configuration error -- I have 2 of those and they're tryong to figure out why they keep repeating.  If you go to Settings > Show Log, does it say "6 repeated downloads" after you refresh?

    Hi Mike,

    Thank you for answering. :)
Yes, it says those products are repeated
BTW, I think it can't count because it says there are 7 products repeated. laugh (see attached file)
So I guess there's a configuration error with these products also?

I am looking into this and will try to get it situated. Wild borders does have an extra file on the server that i have requested to be removed. The others don't.

The furniture pack the legacy ps isn't there at all, (it's called legacystudiocf) so not sure what's up with it.

I checked the other products and they only have what should be there for the product. So i am working on chasing this down to get it solved

Ok begging your patience here, but can you delete/uninstall those files you see that are replicated and redownload them then let me know if they are still sticking for you (that means deleting the files completely from your download folder so they aren't there anymore)

    jen

  • Hi Jen,

I'm sorry for responding this late, been kind of busy today (and will be tomorrow also)

I know you're pretty busy yourself so didn't want to bother you with this therefore I posted it here. Anyhow, thank you very much for looking into it and will do as you proposed first thing tomorrow okay? It's almost midnight here in Holland now and I'm dead tired. And I promise you I'll be patient untill this whole thing is solved, okay? angel

    Thanks again,
    Love, Jeanne smiley

When I started my computer today and started DIM, they were all there again but the Cozy Kitsch. I uninstalled the files, restarted the computer, restarted DIM, downloaded and installed the files.....
Then closed everything and a few hours later I started the computer, opened DIM and there they were again.... see attached, and the logfile gave them as repeated products

Ok thank you Jeanne :) i will keep looking at this to try to solve it

  • I never really use the DIM, actually I have no reason to use it, it really hasn't work to well for me , I simple manually install  all of my items for every package I buy. Never had a problem doing that. I know where everything is in my DAZ Library... did I spelled that word right?

Well after installing only one file that apparently can't be installed any other way then by DIM, I am removing it.  This stupid thing will not stop trying to download and install the program and essentials, when I already have those installed, I couldn't even cancel it, I had to go to task manager to stop it. I'm uninstalling it, preferring manual install.  If Daz continues to make changes that prevent manual install, I will no longer upgrade the program.

  • DIM will not download anything unless you tell it to. You can stop a download in progress by clicking the X next to the progress bar, and clear any unstarted downloads with the Clear Queue button at bottom-left. Only the Public Betas, as far as I can recall, have required the use of DIM - oh, and the original PostgreSQL too.

  • Faeryl WomynFaeryl Womyn Posts: 3,621

Then there must be something wrong with mine.  I click go and it started the downloads, since I could not click cancel.  I cleared queue and then went to the other pane and clicked the 'x' to stop the downloads.  As soon as I did that, the window came up again to download and install and could not click cancel.  Just to make sure that one file I mentioned in the other thread did get installed, I clicked the install for it before stopping the others, so it's now properly placed.  It would appear that DIM has me in a cylce with regards to downloading the program and essentials, wont stop trying to do that.

  • Could you post a screenshot of the window you are getting?

Can't Install The Install Manager - how ironic is that?

Trying to do a fresh install of the Install Manager on my Mac and I get this error message:

    Error creating directory /Applications/DAZ 3D/DAZ3DIM1

My only options in the window are: Try Again - Ignore - Abort

If I try again - the same error occurs. If I choose to ignore - it sends a similar error message for the next directory it's trying to create.  If I choose Abort - the whole thing shuts down.

I'm logged in as the Admin and my System Preferences has been set to accept any application installs.  I don't know what to do to make this work. Can anyone offer some assistance?

First, do you install from a user that has the Admin rights (can sudo)? If you do, then you tripped on a rare bug in the BitRock installer script.

    The simple solution is:

Navigate in Finder to /Applications and create a directory named DAZ 3D (Don't forget the space between DAZ and 3D). Be sure that the you (the user) have privilegies to write there.

  • Hey Totte! Thank you so very much.  Worked like a charm.  : )

  • Question:

I have had to wipe a drive where Studio was installed. Used the IM to uninstall just for housekeeping.
I do see ALL my goodies here by looking at my product library. How can I get the install manager to refresh the READY TO DOWNLOAD side with the items previously installed that were uninstalled?

Is that possible or is this a "one-by-one",by hand operation? Or am I hosed?

If you click the reload icon (first one at the very top) it should refresh the Ready to Download list with everything that isn't already installed/downloaded.

    Thank you.

  • I thought that for DIM I had used the same password I use for the DAZ store, but apparently not, because when I downloaded the new DIM version and put in that password, it told me that password wasn't correct. However, it does not seem to have a way to recover the password or create another one. How can I do this? I have material that I need to download through DIM, and since I changed to the new version I can't open DIM to do that due to the password issue.

  • If it's rejecting the password check that the email is right - they both need to match your store details, since DIM is logging in to your store account.

  • This shows up.

"Install Manager cannot find a required path. The package for "Photoshop 3D Bridge for DAZ Studio 4.8+ (Win 64-bit)" requires that the installed path for "Photoshop CC, CS6, CS5, CS4 (64-bit)" be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the "Applications" page of the "Settings" dialog, then try again."

I have the latest 64bit Photoshop and Bridge CS5 builds. I run an HPDV5 with Windows 7 Pro on a 7200rpm harddrive. AMD Turion Ultra Dual-Core Mobile ZM-80, 2.1 cpu and an ATI Radeon HD 3200.

    Any ideas?

  • Have you gone to DIM's preferences (the gear icon at top-right) and in the Applications tab used the + button to add an application, setting the name and version to the Photoshop version you want to use the bridge for?
