PLEASE.....basic fantasy type boots with LOW heels for G3F?? PA's? Anyone????

Is ANYONE out there interested in creating a pair of fantasy themed boots for Genesis3Female??????
For so long, I've wanted a nice pair of LOW heeled boots that would work with fantasy outfits....the sword and sorcery type fantasy I mean....ones that could be used with any outfit.
With the autofit not being generally successful with shoes, it'd be great to have pair of "go to" boots, that you could use when the ones with the outfit go wonky.
In fact, with the vast majority of DAZ Original fantasy type outfits having those ridiculous stiletto heels, and with the pants of the outfits stopping at the knee :rolls eyes:, I keep looking for knee high LOW heeled boots that I can use with those outfits.
Am I the only one who looks for something like this? Surely I can't be.......
So with the new G3, while outfits can be autofitted, shoes are wonky......so any PA or modeller thinking about creating somethign like this???

The autofitting for low heels actually works pretty well. These boots autofit just fine and scaled up to fit the pants:

Something like this?
This is a set of boots I was setting up for G2F..not quite set in stone, yet (they are pair of CC0 boots picked up on Blendswap), so I could probably do them for G3F, too. CC0 is public domain and can be re-uploaded with no repercussions...
They've got just enough heel to work with stirrups.
I have those boots on my wish list, so it's good to know they autofit well.
Jaki, I know exactly what you mean. I get so frustrated with every single fantasy outfit coming out with stupid heels. You'd think at least one or two would have flats simply for the sake of variety. The terrible footwear is why I haven't picked up several G2 outfits. I only recently caved in and got Woodland Huntress because I could purchase it for less than a buck for Dollar Days. I won't use it until I have some decent boots (like the ones mentioned above) to replace the crazy ones that come with the outfit. I wonder if I can get Age of Armors' Swashbuckler Boots to autofit.
Those are very nice. The kicker will be if they're tall enough to work with all these outfits that have pants that don't go down the full length of the character's leg.
Just below the knee. I tried them above the knee, but they had some nasty stretching with the cuffs...
I'm on board with that wish, and hoping the "Patchwork" set gets some Gen7 attention.

Now granted, I don't think esha ever made a knee-high top for that set, I do use what I have on gen6 all the time. And I will vouch for there interchangeability of tops and bottoms of the footwear. I'm considering adding them to that "Indispensable list" I just started for Gen6 stuff.
I would agree with your assessment of the Patchwork series. They are truly versatile. If Esha ever added taller editions to the set, I'd be all over them.

I admit, it is not past the knee, and I've yet to buy this one (I only have 1 and 2, so far).
I like the cuffs...I was doing a costume with cuffed boots..but couldn't find cuffs :(
I like those a lot.
I don't always have the funds to do so, but I do make an effort to support low heel boots for women where I can. Where I can't, I autofit.
The Wolf King boots get converted over to G2F a lot. I'll have to see how well they survive the trip to G3Female.
Ok...after I get Anna finished I'll see what these will be like on G3F. Then it's back to the baby...
I can sympathize with the desire for more versatile boots. I like "Lord of the Rings" style clothes, not as a mimic of the movies and book, but as versatile and functional weapons and clothes. Too often, 3D clothing for Vicky looks more like "Lord of the Lingerie" instead of "Lord of the Rings" and the skimpy outfits couldn't protect her from a draft, let alone combat.
How much trouble would it be for vendors to make two shoe soles? One with high heels, to look fashionable, and one flat to be practical. You could use the same top of the boot, altered just enough to fit the different heels. You could make the flat morphs and sell them at PC+ prices for existing boots.
Is there a resource we could research to find ways to morph boot heels? Would a program like Hexagon allow this?
Hypothetically, yes. However, you would need to be able to change the geometry of the heels without changing the polygon count - no adding or removing polys. Otherwise, you'll destroy the UV maps and need to make new ones.
Now, IF, if esha dose not have an exclusive use thing on the idea of 'Interchangeable' foot-wear parts, then I see the possibility of many different styles of footwear. Unfortunately, I'm guessing esha has so much work to deal with, that even an update to the existing set is currently to much.
Think about this for a second. There is Poser, and Daz Studio, and both use different formats that are not exactly directly-interchangeable for many things (surface shaders to mention one). There is 3delight, Iray, and LuxRender for Daz Studio, and each one uses completely different settings that must be set up from scratch for each render engine. And then there is the object itself that Daz Studio and Poser treats differently. Now we add to that, support for at least two generations of figures, not including those from other paces (Dawn, dolly, etc).
I'm astonished that the Patchwork set was made at all. Each top and each soul is a completely different item, that must be made from scratch to fit the other items geometry across the entire set of patchwork. That is not something that can be made in a single day by a single person, lol.
Those are totally perfect! I still use Genesis 2 Female, so I'd buy those for Gen2 as well as Gen3.
Hell, I'd be happy to have a pair of boots like those for G2F/G3F, mjc.
Like Mariach and Jaki, I pass up on outfits that are non-functional or come with these ridiculous high heels.
It's my pet hate. Those stupid high heeled boots on a 'fantasy' type outfit. And the pants that stop at the knee with teh high heel boots. I just don't buy DO's as much anymore because of that - and also because they all look like the same outfit.
I agree with the pet hate of stiletto heels on fantasy outfits, it's horrible.. not like one can run, shoot, hide, track, etc in those *sighs and shake head*
on another note, if I remember correctly these can be morphed to have either heel or no heel, . I haven't tried to autofit them to G3 yet so don't know how well they work there, an they aren't over knee.. but might be worth to check up :) http://www.daz3d.com/lady-worthington
there are these
