cellulite - someone an idea how to add a bit of cellulite without a normal map?

Hello, I want an realistic character that is a bit more chubby than these slim models, so I need also a bit of cellulite, has someone an idea how to add this to the figure without using a normal map (don`t like them on female bodies)?

What figure base are you using?

Other than a high level of subdivision...no.

That is precisely what bump/displacement/normal maps are supposed to be for...those extra details that would need an insane amount of polygons to accurately model.

I think I will add it to the bump map but it will take a lot of tries until I have the right depth sad means hours

  • if it's gen2 female there's zevo's Skin Overlay for V5 and M5 Skin Sets yes it says v5/m5 but it works on v6/gen2 ladies too http://www.daz3d.com/skin-overlay-for-v5-and-m5-skin-sets

If you want it to look real from all angles, it would have to be displacement, maybe normal, I don't really ever use normal maps. Bump maps is just an illusion, it will look fake when viewed not straight on. Displacement actually moves the geometry, so you will see it even on the silhouette.

Oh hey, yeah, I totally forgot that Skin Overlay directly has a 'cellulite' option. Duh.

I'm wondering if there are any products that do vitiligo, though I guess masking would do the trick. ;)

normal map is bad because the normal map on G3F causes bad results (underneath the breasts) if using some breast morphs

Not all normal maps will cause that problem...but not sure there are any pre-made, ready to use ones that won't...the ones that in the current textures do.   It would require making new ones.

well since I do not use the normal map on my G3F any longer I haven`t the problems with the breast/ripcage region

Normal maps are nice for body detail. If you have Photoshop\Gimp, just use the plaster tool/or clone brush to eliminate the breast wrinkles if present.

  • ok since it's g3 zevo's cu rrent one click overlay is out but zevo since your on here what about your other version that uses the lie system via psd files and photoshop/gimp/paintshop extra, even though designed for v4/m4/g2 since they are psd files and use outside editing in theory cosmo could use them on g3f as well? and again since they are psd files he can decide where and intensity/size he can place them?

Edit the normal map; I did with (I think it was Bethany's) in Gimp; there was too much for smaller breasts; it worked well.

No they cannot be used directly unless he uses the details from the displacement map of that product and clone stamps it onto the bump or convert it to normal map on G3's UV. However you need to avoid the seams. I only responded to the normal map aspect because of the issue he was having when using the normal maps.

I have deleted the normal maps, AVA is desined as a chubby girl/woman so no details neccessary :) a smooth body works better

I need a displacement for cellulite or a map for cellulite I can edit, have no clue how to design a cellulite map by myself, I know how it should look but I do not get it right.
