why do male textures tend to have such pencil thin eyebrows?

in The Commons
Are they using female body textures or something?

Real men have real eyebrows, and sometimes eyebrow.
you made me snort-laugh
If you grab the DieTrying morph pack for Genesis and Genesis 2, there are some morphs that can thicken eyebrows...
And it's at a great price, $0!

na they are new men that manscape.
Frankly I'd like to see some eyebrows like Lee Pace's.
Michael 7 has some pretty bushy brows. I like them and I agree with the OP, most of them especially the boys are too androgynous and the eyebrows are a big part of it.
I've moved toward using Macroskin and Skin Builder more and more so I can have a lot more control over eyebrows, both with Laticis' fibermesh eyebrows or to add them with Skin Builder. This lets me adjust their size and color (laticis' eyebrows can only be bushed out so much, but still...)
This uses Laticis' eyebrows, which are bushy enough to cast their own shadows. ;) http://willbear.deviantart.com/art/The-Wizard-572407090
Ha!! Little play in GIMP and you can fix that !!
No, they are metrosexual.
Hey, I didn't know this:
David Beckham, described as "the biggest metrosexual in Britain" in Simpson's 2002 article that led to the term's popularity.
Really? That article in 2002? I thought I heard the term "metrosexual" back in the late 80s to early 90s? I think Wikipedia is incorrect here.
Amusingly, I found that when I put Yanmei's (feminine) skin on males, the eyebrows look huge and I usually have to take steps to thin them down.
this begs a suggestion then; I'd love a bushy eyebrow pack to apply in Photshop or LIE. My call for Metrosexuals in what I produce is pretty much nonexistent.
Well hey, our upcoming Beautiful Skin Iray for G3M has conforming eyebrows with three different transmaps!
You can't go full Zachary Quinto with it, but that's partly because of the technical difficulty - making a really full, bushy eyebrow is not easy.
If you want really accurate close bushy eyebrows, you probably need to use LAMH or something.
(Which I've been meaning to try -- I did it a while back and the results were... not good)
Here's an attempt. Started with Macroskin (since it has a brow-less option, go go Parris!), added a brow with Skin Overlay, then went in and scaled/moved the brow back into position.
Now, obviously, the detail on the Skin Overlay brow wasn't really intended to hold up to this kind of abuse, and he looks like he has brow razorburn (ow!), but still...
Maybe I'll give LAMH brows a whirl again. Hmm.
Perhaps this one goes too far...
I'm under the same impression, texture artitsts nowadays are too female oriented and don't pay attention to the important male attributes anymore. You rarely find a beard variation, not to speak about a hairy chest or abdomen, for M7 it's even worse.
Beneath are a few of my male textures, all with manly shaped brows you can call brows after all.
This looks interesting. SY, you rock.
It takes a man's man to know a good man :) Thanks for all those Iray updates, BTW... talk about added value.
Thank you! :)
I like variety. But eyebrow placement is also important. I don't like them to high or they look like they are halfway up the forehead. Some textures for Michael 6 were like that. They looked like martial arts film extras.
