My first fan art (in 3D at least - I've done 2D fan art before).

I made it with a my first G3F dial spun character that I'm currently working on.  Now that I finally have the G3F morphs (I managed to score them for about $1.00 each!!) I feel like I can now make a G3F character more to my liking - a G3 character that is my own rather than the creation of someone else (as much as I love the 2 G3F characters I've bought, I want a character that is my own creation). She's a Work In Progress but I am liking her so far.

Really happy with how this came out. Dryad figure with leaves and flowers added via UltraScatter. Wow.

(Took a lot of repeated tries to get the distribution right)

    Render 2

Its a very aesthetic shotglass. Oooh the caustics, and the absorption of the liquid, see how it gets lighter around the edges? I just find it so satisfying to look at. I also really like how I positioned my signature, It blends so well. Seriously I like this image way more than the first one.

    ...barkeep! Another round.

    That looks great.

Even better version. Improved textures and lighting.

    Oh yes.

It's not astronomically better, but everything is easier.

And, well, most Iray stuff is twice as fast or so, if not faster. Which is niiice.

Between your anthro people and your procedural shaders you come up with some pretty strange things, but this is pretty cool!

    Best render so far!

It's Dungeon Entrance, ultrascatter to spread urchins and sea ferns.

The urchins are interesting... I didn't have anything right for them, so I used a high mesh sphere, Mcasual's elevate script with an image of lots of fuzzy dots, and voila (but then sucked it into Carrara to decimate it so my machine didn't melt into the floor)

    (It's 8 mb)

My current WIP sans blood, since I have to wait another payday before trying to get a set with vampire marks, or try and learn how to use Ron's Blood overlays in Photoshop.

I'd originally wanted the scene darker, but discovered that just like in real-life photography dark skin in a dark environment equals no details, so I decided on a natural light look, but it's part of a set I want to do about a young (in appearance) vampiress.   That's Tween Julie with a bit of Anastasya for Rune and Snowflake dialed in, and Youthened back about 20%.  She came out rather nice.

Bought some trees for another project and decided to use them for another idea I had. Lots of instancing and kitbashing, LOL. Dry mud flats as the base, replaced the ground poly with my own. 5 types of pines, 4 grass props along with 2 of my own, elk are game models posed then subdivided. Textures tweaked by me and lighting uses an HDRI file. I also want to redo this as a winter scene one day.

Wow! surprise   That looks like a painting !  Definitely one of the better renders I've seen with animals.

Thanks nelsonsmith, appreciate it. I was pretty happy with getting the environment set up, lots of instancing and positioning. I had to remodel the bull elk as his legs were too thick and the antlers too small. Of the 4 elk models I have this was the best quality. I tried applying a LAMH fiberhair preset, but it choked my system with that many animals

Urchin uses Ultrascatter to place spines. (I had originally used deformed sphere, but the spines were too uniformly oriented to be believable, this close up).

All shaders are WTP2. (upcoming procedural stuff I've been working on)

That looks amazing!  Nice work.  And, yeah, a winter scene would probably look very cool, too!

That a nice sea urchin, Will!  It looks very realistic, too.

    Thank you!

My previous sea scene uses a simpler approach that looks fine off in the distance. Heh.

Really like these green nature scenes with animals. Someone posted a jaguar & a lizard in the gallery yesterday.

Thanks all! nonsuch00, I love doing nature scenes, but most don't care for them it seems in the galleries.

  • KnittingmommyKnittingmommy Posts: 8,191

I never try to figure out what will be popular in the gallery anymore.  I just upload those images I make that make me happy!

Speaking of, here is my latest Iray render.  He made me very happy.  My own character plus some Aging Morphs 2 for Genesis 2 Males on the Darius 6 base figure.  Darius skin with a couple of slight modifications

Nice one KM, I like the pose quite a bit!

Thanks.  I have to admit that pose is almost straight out of the box with just some minor tweaking.  It was part of Jepe's BeddingZ for Genesis 2 Males.  Jepe did a great job with the companion poses for all of the bedding.

That is a very nice job on the Darius fellow. His expression is like I just got up and have to go to work.

Thanks.  I seem to do better with those types of expressions.
