Aeon Soul Promo Model

I have to say this, the Aeon Soul promo girl has got to be one of the most unique models out there. Sexy, kinda' creepy, but grows on you after a while and you definitely can't get her out of your mind. . .

AS has gone by various names through the years,
Aery Soul
Aeon Soul
AlphaSeed
but their one constant has been the promo model Alice, including a V4 version, definitely cool and unique!
Indeed; I've known them for years (they were Aery Soul back then) and all of their work that I've purchased was worth it.
Some of their old freebies go into the runtime folders under the name awfulsoul. Don't know whether their commercial products ever did.
The last version of Alice that was commercially released was at RDNA, and named Alice/Ily. She used the Alice 5 body shape, which was a freebie on RDNA for quite a while. It seems to be the face that's kept unique.
Alice has been their promo girl since gen3 (i.e., more than a decade now) and she's been through several iterations, but she's always recognizably her. She wasn't precisely a commercial release, but back when they were mainly on Rendo there would be a week or so around December when she'd be available. I can't remember whether the Alice/Ily version was a general commercial release or another limited one. To the best of my understanding, she's never been publically released as a Genesis series character. Alice/Ily I'm pretty sure was still built for V4.
But the version in their promos now is clearly for G3F, so who can tell whether she's show up or not. I suspect it will depend a lot on whehter DAZ agrees to let them release her for a week and then pull her.
I don't think the will actually ever release Alice for G3F, but perhaps they will do a character for G3F at some point.
I admit, I do not like this promo character at all. Whenever I see her she detracts from what she is promoting.
I have mixed feelings about this character. At times I think she is a beauty in her own way, and other times I think she looks somewhat weird. Depends I guess on how she is portrayed in a render.
One thing is certain. You definitely know who the PA is when you see her. In that respect she does her job quite well; she IS the face of AS.
Alice always was for V4, though AS had a similar character for V3.
She was a regular commercial character initially, but AS decided to remove her after having received too much nasty feedback. Since a lot of people liked her they finally decided to make her available as limited editions as part of their anniversary sale, and updated her a few times as part of the process.
The latest version available was the Alice/Ily pack, which included Alice 5 body morph and skins with a new face (Ily), and was still for V4. I purchased her in September and not in their usual December sale, so I think it was a regular commercial character.
AS made a version of Alice for their G2F promos and never released her, so they might do the same with G3F.
I was able to do a direct alice v4 morph directly to genesis 3 via "Legacy to Gen3 morph converter 1.0" sold by darkhound1 at Deviant art!...I found out about it here, but the original poster was unsure whether to add the link here, and I will continue to respect that! But yeah, love the fact that V4 is now completely transferable to all the generation 5-7 figures!
OT, Awful Soul is one of many major daz artists that are a credit to this program, and I am glad they are releasing their stuff here!
Love it or hate it that figure is eye catching. The moment I see it in a new product promo image I know it's Aeon Soul. If it's as old as Gen 3 and 4, then it's a constant recogniseable even by someone who has been away from it all for a long time. Really effective principle used across the board in advertising. The figure doesn't grab me but AS products certainly do.
I've always had a problem with the face. It's like the eyes were never designed to close, and that just strikes me as uncomfortable.
The body morphs, on the other hand are very attractive, and cover a fairly wide range of styles.
I did break down and pick up Alice 4 in one of the anniversary sales. I never used her much, but she came with a set of expression morphs which I ported over to Genesis 1 in GenX, since they came in as dials it made that package one of the better investments I'd ever made, since they could be mixed. They didn't mess with my characters' original morph, either. That was something that one had to watch out for, since a lot of gen4 characters came with expressions, but the expressions were built for only that morph and if you ported it in with GenX it still changed your character's face or head size to that of it's original source.
She's called Ailisy for Genesis 3, or at least this character is similar. I agree with ThatGuy about her looks.

Actually, Ailisy is an outfit for Genesis 3, not a female character (though the promos do use the character being talked about).
I always thought the highly reflective nature of the eyes, washing out almost all the detail, giving AS characters something of a Gary Mitchell /Elizabeth Dehner merciless stare, is what many people find unsettling.
BTW, that MST3K "altered" screen capture has to be from "Catalina Caper", when Tom Servo finds himself smitten with a "creepy girl" shown in the movie they are riffing.
Sincerely,
Bill
I'm pretty sure they'd make a fortune if the character shape was ever released. She'd be an excellent addiiton to the proverbial gene pool, to modify and adapt for our respective needs.
The promo model, unfortunately, never grew on me. LOL
Laurie
I agree because I converted the Alice/Ily. version using GenX and she came out really cute
Yep, You nailed it!
Tom Servo as performed by Kevin Murphy is my favorite character from the series, so his "bits" tend to stick in memory a bit easier.
Yes, I'm quite the MSTie as evidenced in this photo (not a render of digital meshes).
Sincerely,
Bill

Actually, they did release the V4 version for a brief time (a couple of weeks in December a couple of years), I even think there was a Genesis morph available for a while.
I don't know that they'll release her again. They're very protective of her.
Honestly, I find her VERY creepy. WAY too much uncanny valley. Her body is quite beautiful but her eyes and mouth are very unsettling. Uncanny valley to the extreme with that character. I have trouble looking at the promo images.
I totally agree. Sadly I've not bought anything from that vendor due to just the unsettling eeriness that the promo images/promo character makes me feel. I've tried to get through some of the promo sets to check out the products and just end up closing them out and navigating somewhere else.
She is pretty creepy, but I know they make really quality products; everything always has lots of movement morphs and gorgeous textures; so i just try and ignore the model.

An interesting perspective on her.
from a marketing perspective the model is apparently pretty effective since she's instantly recognizable, even if she's polarizing :)
Aeon Soul has outstanding products. typically a little bit edgy though. They are really good for SciFi and fantasy scenes. I didn't purchase any of Aeon Soul's products until about 2 years ago becuase they seemed a bit too specialized, edgy, and possibly due to the model (some images she is great, others she's a bit more uncanny, probably due to the eyes). Since then I have picked up a lot more, and have used the outfits a lot too (in about 1/3 of my renders). But, if you don't tend to do scifi or fantasy, most of Aeon Soul's stuff won't get used much. I picked up a bunch of their outfits on the big close out sale they had at RDNA. I'm really glad I did, because I've used it a lot. Now I try to pick up everything that works for fantasy (scifi too, but not as important) when I can. Trying to resist today's sale on Aeon Soul, but may have to get something since their stuff doesn't go on sale that often.
When I first purchased back in the, get this, vicky2 days the name was As Shanim. I also recognize all the other names mentioned.
What's creepy to me is the huge distance between the eyes. But I did see a business reporter with same a time or two on a worldwide business show.
she is always refreshing to see compared to all the kitchy ladies in this shop
sure not for the reality fans
I agree completely. At first I kind of ignored Aeon Soul, but when I started looking at the quality of their products I was won over. The promos help tremendously. Not only is their promo girl unique. but their renders displaying those products are top notch. They stand out among PAs in a good way.
