Justified and Ancient (make Darren's a 99)

Twenty five years ago this month (DAZ time) this delightfully silly pond-crossing ditty was released.
A quarter of a century qualifies as ancient, and silliness is almost always justified in my book.
Anyways, there's a nice little prize (with a small catch) to the first person* who can answer the very easy question of what it was that happened today that triggered my few remaining functional neurons to remember this track.
*to avoid complications (for me), DAZ folk (inc. mods) and PAs are excluded. This one's for us customers.
(let's see if this works...) - (arse, no it didn't. That's supposed to be a picture youtube link. And I took the best advice...)

Ice cream van?
fixed it for you Peter
George was released... immediately heading for MuMu Land?
One of my favorite songs, 3AM Eternal by The KLF, especially the Tammy Wynette version!
Missy got nominated for a BAFTA?
Had this on "Now That's What I call Music 21" cassette in 1992. Still had it playing a year or two later in the first car I bought. Old style Y reg mini.
I'll try again. Is it your Birthday today? That's how I feel when mine rolls around
Congratulations darren_dd9be07039 (which I shall presumptuously shorten to Darren for my own typing convenience).
Darren, your small prize with a small catch is:
http://www.daz3d.com/vintage-ice-cream-van
Or rather, since I have no power to award ice cream vans, a DAZ gift card to approximately the value of the full price of the Vintage Ice Cream Van by David Brinnen and ForbiddenWhispers. And the small catch is that you buy the Vintage Ice Cream Van. If you've already bought the Vintage Ice Cream Van, then the small catch transfers to buying any item that is by both David Brinnen and ForbiddenWhispers. If there's any change over - that's yours to run off to Panama with. Obviously this is an honour based prize. You can technically spend it on whatever you like, but it'd be nice to stick to the spirit of the prize.
I hope you have a DAZ account...
I also hope I can press the right buttons to buy you a gift card...
Thank you Pam. You might need to fix this one too:
which I hope Chuckdozer can accept as a silly consolation prize.
Eeek! I was wrong and got a prize anyway? Cool! Thanks
OK Darren, looking at the process it seems I need a recipient name and a recipient email. Assuming you have a DAZ account, private message me those details and I'll try and get things rolling.
Thanks again, Pam. Feel free to stalk me and fix my
balls upsmistakes at work too.(edited to avoid a cock up) :mregreen:
(I miss )
I had to read that post twice before I got it right.
I have pressed buttons. This may result in Darren's bank account being emptied to buy the entire David Brinnen / ForbiddenWhispers catalogues for Chohole. But I meant well.
Is it too late to change my name by deed poll to Forbi ... er, David Brinnen?
Sent you a private message Peter.
Give it a go, but changing it to Chohole would be more logically beneficial. ;-)
Replied. Probably twice, like the gift cards. :eyeroll:
Wait, wait! "3AM Eternal" is an entirely different, sadly Tammy Wynette-free, song! "Justified and Ancient" is the one with the video with Miss Wynette in the extraordinarily tight long blue dress and that weird tall crown, and her walking around like she can barely move her legs, alternately looking like she's wondering what on earth she got herself into, or like she's having more fun than is entirely legal.
Yes!
It is my hope that this thread can ascend into a mad collection of KLF, Ice cream van, and any loosely connected videos and fun.
Grimsby is mentioned, and Grimsby is almost Cleethorpes, which is just up a windy road from Mablethorpe:

I think I read that Forbidden Whispers is oop north too.
Do you realise that every part of the UK is oop north of every part of the contiguous USA. But it's summer time, the evenings are getting longer, and the ice cream van comes around everyday and wakes me up at work.
Oh hello, what's going on here? Thank you Peter! Well as it happens, I have a got a few KLF cd's, but I don't subscribe to the theory that it is overly "Grim up North". There are one or two post industrail places that are a bit bleak in a, this was a once thriving hub of work and community. But mostly it's quite nice. Indeed we had Graham Fellows, formerly a resident of Louth, over to the local Cinema to indroduce his first film "It's Nice Up North". Clips from which you can enjoy on youtube.
People tend to assume that I am from further up North due to my habit of wearing shorts all year around, but actully I come from Sheffield, which is in South Yorkshire on the edge of the Peak District, which the very antiesis of grim. Here is a render I did just now that is my artistic impression of the Peak.
As promised my first render with the van. Photoshopped it a bit because the sphere wasn't HDR so the lighting was dull. Thanks again.
Looks like fun, Darren. Good effort matching the Boddingtons ad. Glad the gift card malarky worked out.
First Mablethorpe now Sheffied. As I said, I was born in Cleethorpes but we moved to Sheffield (Stocksbridge) when I was 5 (1956). I lived in Totley for a couple of years in my early 20's - as you say, right on the edge of the Peak District.
@Marble, Totley! Very nice. My uncle used to go bowling (crown green obviously) up at Stockbridge, I don't think I've ever been, I was down in Gleadless.
Yeah, I know Gleadless too - my best friends at the time were from Gleadless. Totley was beautiful - lovely views. We were lucky to be able to rent a student residence there but the Landlady wanted to redevelop and threw us out. Well, we might have been a tad noisy for the area, however. This was the age of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd, of course.
