    Well I bought the gift card with the discount and its telling me the code is incorrect....

    You may get two emails. One with a good code and one with a bad code. This has been happening for months. Check to see if you got a second email message.

    What good does it do to buy gift cards?

    Buy the gift card for yourself and exchange it for store credit. Then everything you buy with that store credit is effectively 11% cheaper than whatever its basket price might have been.

    Customers gain a bit of "free" money to spend at DAZ. In trade, DAZ gets the money now (i.e. a cash flow bump) instead of waiting for the customers to spend bit by bit as suitable products appear.

    And this offer seems to be multiuse.

    So, you can buy the gift cerificate at 11% off; then make another order for the older items you want. Thus, you effectively get a little over 20% discount on the items.

    They are a mix of new and old items - some from the tween julie 7 bundle (the pro bundle is there for price comparison only) and some Genesis 2 stuff . There are around 20+ items currently in my cart which was created couple of days back.

  • Well, that went well. In all haste I bought a gift card with an invalid email adress. Money's gone but the gift card will never be delivered. Raised a ticket, I'm guessing this is the procedure?

    All the items I see in your attachment are "New". Be sure there is at least $11 of not new items.

    Ouch. Yes that would be the correct proceedure. Open a help ticket and explain what happened.

  • Does the 11% discount not get applied correctly if the order contains new items along with old ones? Does the discount get applied to the overall cart value rather than on individual items (excluding the new items)? In case of later, does each individual item has to be more than $11 or is it sufficient for the sum of old items to reach $11? Sorry for the confusion.

    The discount is applied individually to only the old items. They don't have to be $11 each but the total of just the old items must exceed $11.

    Unfortunately I only got one code. I was waiting for the second (and third and fourth email lol)  If it doesn't clear up by the time i get home from work I will have to put in a ticket.

  • Thanks for the tip with the gift card. That way, the 11% applied to both old and new releases - to old releases the 11% are actually applied two times even. Add that stacking on some PAs to the game and you get a nice sale.

    They removed the Enter Shadowrun sale so I don't think there are any stacking right now.

    This is why doing with this with sales is such a terrible idea. Extend the same sale or run a different one; don't run a better version of the same sale the next day.

    a. Customers who just bought stuff will feel ripped off that they didn't know to wait a day (whether factual or not they'll still feel it.)

    b. Customers will see an emerging pattern and think it's safer to wait on buying anything.

    Both outcomes are bad for everyone all round. Am I insane for not thinking this should be obvious?

    Or customers from the day before will submerge Sales Support with partial refund requests ...

    Although, most new(ish) folks know there is always a better sale around the corner. And those who've been around a while, well...

    It's probably the same idiot who designed the banner(s) with all the mistakes; presuming they were mistakes and not deliberate; why escapes me though. /shrug

    Mistakes are one thing; but when the are repeated, it becomes to look like incompetence. Doesn't mean it is, just that it looks like it.

    Well there will be a better sale later; and at least another sale as good. Both are trueisms when it comes to Daz.

    Never any harm in waiting.
