OT is there caffeine in Starbucks ice coffee?

in The Commons
Is there caffeine in Starbucks coffee? if so, I better put my ice coffee up asap so I can get some sleep tonight. Is the Fridge or freezer a better place to store it until tomorrow?
Does anyone else here like Starbucks?

Only if you don't get it decaf, otherwise it normally has like 2+ shots of espresso in it. I stopped drinking Starbucks ages ago when I bought a Nespresso Pixie machine.
Google is your friend: I googled "Starbucks caffeine content" and found this: http://www.caffeineinformer.com/the-complete-guide-to-starbucks-caffeine
I better put it in the fridge asap or I will not get a wink of sleep!
...Starbucks often taste like they burnt their beans during hte roasing process. The nehighboruhood in which I now live has two independent coffee shops and I prefer their blends more. Plus I can say "I want a medum coffee" and I don't get a puzzled look from the barista who then throws all these pseudo made-up Italian sounding words back at me.
Some of the best coffee I had was at a bagel shop chain we had called Noah's Bagels (not sure if they were in other parts of the country). It was "basic coffee" (called "New York Style") but tasted really good and wasn't highly acidic so I could drink quite a bit (and they had bottomless refills). Good bagels as well and properly made (nothing better than an onion bagel with a garlic schmeer). They also made their own very tasty bagel dogs as well.
Sadly the Noah's chain was bought out by an outfit called Einsein's and the quality immediately went downhill (including the coffee which was more like the battery acid stuff you'd get at Dennys). Whne it was still a Noah's it was always busy, and you often had to stand in queue to make your order . After Einstein's took them over, I'd maybe see a couple customers sitting inside at best even during times of the day ,when as Noah's, it used to be packed. Einstein's lasted about a year and then folded, now the location is some hoity toity boutique shop.
StarBucks was founded by people who were alumni of Peets which famous for their intense roasts (a lot people describe it as a burt while ohers describe it as flavorful) Ironically, Noah's used Peet's coffee (there is an art to the dark roast. StarBucks' Frappucinno's use a varient of cold brewed coffee for its sweetness and low acidity. One general rule is the darker the roast, the more robust the flavor and lower caffeine with blond roast having the most caffeine per cup.
My wife once worked for them.
Using the company S.O.P.- they do over roast (i.e.- burn) the beans. I used to roast an grind my own. I agree. they go beyond dark roast into being able to use the beans as smoking material for a good set of ribs.
Caffine? Oh yeah. Gimmie a syringe of that tuff if I ever flatline.
I probably should not have gotten the second refill of Trenta ice coffee. I hope I can drink this big cup of Sleepy time tea by nine so I can get to bed by ten. (and also have time to go to the bathroom so that would not wake me up in the middle of the night.)
Bagels and coffee- really good combo. I like my onion bagels with a garlic butter. Or a good lox.
Damnit, now I gotta add to the shopping list.
iced coffee caffeine diluted by ice.
caffeine and raw sugar!
I am afraid my sleepy tea would cause me to want to visit the restroom so I got to be careful.
...I still miss them. No place around anymore to get a decent priced cup of joe with refills and toasted bagel with a tasty schmeer for less than a fiver. They must have been using a medium roast blend as it didn't totally wire you up, yet was very mellow tasting (most likely could have been a specialty blend/roast on contract for Noah's as well, some roasters do that). For a cup and bagel at the shop down the block where I live now, it comes to about 7$ and they only have plain creme cheese (and you have to pay 50¢ for refills as well).
I can get way too many refills of ice coffee at Starbucks for free. I only got two refills today but once I got more than that but had to stop because I was too hyper.
pumpkin scone with thick layer of sugar icing on it
I can't make cream cheese, but I make great bagels from scratch - hence the list I gotta add to. Smoked the salmon too. If ayone ever gets near Niagara Falls/Buffalo. drop me a PM. Door's open if you can stand crazy old fat guys and pets. And I don't charge.
A good rule of thumb is - all coffee has caffeine unless it says Decaf.
How many crazy old fat guys do you have? Are they indoor-only? Declawed? Neutered?
Even decaf isn't caffeine-free, ranging from 12 to 13.4 milligrams per 16-ounce serving (according to WebMD).

Bagels from scratch? I'm going to go live with Ikyoto. Crazy old fat guys and pets are not an issue for me.
I am a Starbucks addict and most chocolate and coffee and some teas contain caffeine. That said I put a Starbucks coffee cup in my last render because I love the franchise.
sadly I can't drink coffee any more but can and do occasionally have other things on the menu. I miss coffee!
To elaborate on this: Back around 2004/05 when I last worked there, there were officially four Starbucks roasts: Italian Roast, French Roast, Espresso Roast and the Starbucks Roast. Italian, French, and Espresso were their own coffee lines while everything else was the Starbucks Roast. It definitely was a stronger roast compared to some other places, but it was mainly due to consumer tastes and consistency.
It was only a few years ago that Starbucks finally released the Blonde roast -- a lighter roast than the normal Starbucks roast. It did okay in the states, but was massive in Canada as it appealed to most Tim Horton's drinkers*. There was even a contest to name one of the Blonde roast coffees, which was eventually dubbed "True North".
Starbucks now has reserve/estate coffees too, which feature their own roasting profiles.
* Coincidentally, or perhaps shrewd marketing at the time, Tim Horton's debuted a Dark Roast coffee at around the same time.
I think my caffine rush is starting to fade so I can go to bed.
...hmm doesn't the Lakeshore Limited still go through Buffalo (I no longer travel by air domestically for health and sanity reasons)?
Got three to four hours of sleep until I woke up in time for bathroom run. Now to try to get back to sleep.
black (in color, not preparation) coffee generally has less caffeine than drip coffee when portions are taken into consideration:
2 oz of Espresso, 80 Mg. caffeine
12 oz. of brewed coffee, 120 Mg. caffeine.
All that aside Starbucks coffee feels like someone is trying to extinguish a cigar on my heart when I drink it.
Google is your friend: I googled "Lakeshore Limited" and found: https://www.amtrak.com/lake-shore-limited-train"
Train travel in the US is doable if you're travelling between two of five places.
The piddly little city of Jamestown, NY has two Burger Kings, two McDonalds, two Wendy's, one Starbucks, and THREE FOUR Tim Hortons.
I simply don't understand the appeal of Tim Hortons. They're packed every time I go by them. And the drive-thru line winds through the shopping center parking lot, obstructing traffic flow. What is so freakin' special to these country folk & blue collar workers about Tim Hortons? Do they feel it's chic to stand in long lines? These must be the same people who go to Disney World in July
. The local BurgerKing, McDonalds, Wendy's and Starbucks only wish they could get crowds like that. But the question is moot now because Burger King has bought Tim Hortons and moved their headquarters to Canada.
Back in '95 I rode my motorcycle north from Vancouver, Canada toward Alaska, on the biggest road in the area. As I came through each little city I could tell it's size by whether it had a McDonalds or not, or if it had a McDonalds AND a BurgerKing. Never noticed any Tim Hortons.
One crazy, yes, no, yes.
And motsa balls (floaters) te size of softballs. And amazing fried rice.
That sounds perfect. I do a really good potato leek soup. I don't think your weather is too different from what I get in Northern Minnesota. Me and the family will be there in about two weeks.
...last time I rode the Lakeshore was back in the late 70s so wasn't sure if the route was changed.
Was too late here to google as it was midnight and I was sleepy.
Actually I do take the train back to Wisconsin as I can get on in Portland and get off in Milwaukee without changing at some out of the way hub airport or having the person in the row front of me effectively sitting in my lap for several hours when he or she reclines their seat. Air travel in the US today has sunk below the level of riding Greyhound bus unless you are rich enough to afford first class. I also have circulation issues that make travelling on a plane in what I call Mediaeval Torture Class today pretty rough.
