I bought it. I really enjoy all of Linday's work that ive purchased. Ill post a pic or two.
Sci Fi pilot, mmm, I would have to say no. Sci Fi bounty hunter, sci fi rebel, etc... Definetely. Ill be kitbashing this one quite a bit wether its a sci fi render or not.
Who knows? Perhaps Linday will read the comments and make an add on that has pants, a body suit, and less heel? Perhaps Linday will even make this add on super cheap for day one purchasers? Hint, hint...
An outfit which covers the whole body, with material zones which can be made invisible for those who like skimpwear- flat heels and stiletto heels version - everybody would be happy.

The bikini that comes with the outfit is on a geo shell. You can cover or remove any zone that you want, apply any shader that you want and get the look youre going for. Give me a few minutes. Ive got a render going that will demonstrate.
it is possible to do geometry shell and make it color of cloth .. cover that sexy belly and thighs.
ya hey ... i always wonder about the skimp wear..same with military clothing ... nothing better than seeing the bare mideriff and thighs of those combat women.
Hey! Japanese 'cartoons' can be very serious art. Even if they also wear skimpy clothes. Because it turns out fantastic storytelling is completely tangential to eye-candy!
Ok. So as I said earlier, the bikini is on a geo shell so use any zone that you want to make it less or more skimpy and then apply whatever shader to it.
I think its an excellent outfit myself. Yes, I too could do without the skimpwear look, but this outfit has tones (YaY for spelling!) of presets and materials going for it and the detail is awsome (dude) !

ok this is a gamechanger for me, think i'll take the plunge
Heres another. This time, Tara is wearing the suit over Pei Pants from the Pei Outfit. Also, she is wearing the sci fi vest over the peace keeper vest (why two vests I dont know). With the pants, all I had to do was change the smoothing target and with the vest, change the smoothing target and make some small adjustments with the provided morphs of which there is a very good amount.
So, if you are giving this one a pass because there are no pants or full body coverings, reconsider. There's plenty you can do to kit bash this to your liking or use the geo-shell to get the desired look. Im really happy with it.
Want to see anything else about it? More questions? Just let me know.
Anotherusername, thanks for the images, those are exactly what I had in mind when I saw it in the store, but I also like the skimpwear option and for me there are plenty of kitbashing ideas that this outfit gives me. Knowing the quality of the vendor helps also, so this is a must have for me.
I think the outfit looks great, I love the detail in it.
As for sci-fi outfits showing skin, it's fiction, some of us like a little sexy in our cyberpunk.
If you don't, I can respect that, but there's more than enough outfits to kitbash into the outfit to cover the character. I almost never use only one complete outfit when clothing my figures.
I think the better thing to be complaining about is the lack of similar quality (and quantity) of sci-fi gear for males. The male outfits typically show less skin, and translate better visually to female characters than female outfits to male characters.
Had to wait until I got home to reply here. Being an old Battletech/Mechwarrior player for decades in the past, I really had no issue with the outfit since it was what I was used to seeing for mech pilots even the men. With heat being the controlling factor in combat vs weapons really in its original form. The skimpier the better in a scavenger society. And I am sure I can kitbash it up into something more realistic for what I like to do. BTW Anime has kind of moved away from the skimpy pilot outfits for the most part although not totally. Do a search for Muv Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse.
And I totally agree with the lack of stuff for the males in the pilot department
but anyway.. Bodysuit from Megaton One for G3 goes well if you need the true uniform look.
I was a little hesitant at first, with the lack of leggings, but after playing around with it and kit bashing with some of Aeon Soul's Orbital Merc and the undersuit of DarkEdge's SpartantechOps, it can be a great set of assets. The detail is fantastic and the materials are top notch. I still need to tweak a few pieces to get the collision right, but it works really well. Now if sleep would decide to humor me...
I do pinup and sexy art so I don't mind the skimpwear but I do find it funny that she has so much armor everywhere else! I'd at least put a metal shader on that bikini LOL.
It's a bit of a tease really: "I'm sexy and I know it, but don't get too close or I'll beat you up." It's actually a feminist outfit, come to think of it LOL. In any case, it just went in my cart.
Oh she is very usable. All by herself or for kitbashing, it is all in what you want or need for a render. Linday hasn't disappointef with any products I have bought.
I think it looks great and I have other pants that I can use with the rest of it. :) Though, I do agree that I would have liked to see some pants with the set. lol Still, what's there looks really great! Awesome detailing and realism with the rest of the outfit!
I agree with Griffin Avrid if you don"t like it then don't buy it why do you have to complain about someones hard work
When someone puts their work out there, paid for or not, they are opening themselves to opinions about their work: positive and negative.
Unless there's some kind of unspoken "No concrit ever" rule that Richard Haseltine wants to chime in on, I don't see anything wrong with expressing criticism of a product.
Normally I would roll my eyes at something like this, but to be fair: I like the bikini is a geoshell, and the puffer vest is pretty cool. And the fact the killer heels can be made into more "solid" platform heels. At least they're thick, lmao.
That said... anyone try autofitting this to G8M yet? >_>
Careful what you ask for...Again, parts are great to combo with other pieces, but here is the whole kit on our dear friend G8M, minus the lower geoshell.
This is what happens when sleep has a devious sense of humor...

Must be awful warm in those space fighter cockpits ;)
Laurie
Climate controlled!
I know you all are being haha funny but this is true. The problem in space is getting adequate heat dissipation, not staying warm.
Which, as I recall, is why the shuttle opened its doors in orbit even if it wasn't unloading a payload.
My wish ...

Looks very nice :)

Of course, if you are into skimpwear, this outfit has you covered as well... or uncovered, as the case may be...

@AnotherUserName thanks for the images I do apppreciate the pants-less pilot after all
My pleasure! Glad I could help.

Just my 2 cents.

the armor is for fashion not protection
Okayyyyyyyy..... Kitbashed it looks a lot more usable. I might rethink. Thanks for showing!

Once again, it's a perfect outfit for male figures
