Instead of going to "Version 5.0" they opted to go with "2018". If you own ZBrush, it is still a free upgrade to the new one HOWEVER, the price will rise by $100 to about $900 ish in the near future so buy it while ya can IF ya can.

    :)

There's a site called CGriver that is selling 4R8 for $640 and it's eligable for the free Zbrush 2018 upgrade.  They are reputable, I came across them via a link at pixologic when looking into eligability for an academice license. They are an official reseller for pixologic.  So seems like a good deal there.

So is it confirmed that if I buy 4R8 on CGriver now I can get the free upgrade? It's not limited to those who had it before the Zbrush 2018 upgrade? Thanks in advance.

Ok, I just upgraded my zbrush. I have never used it before now, but can anyone point me to any tutorials on how to use it with daz in mind? Thank you!

I'm in Europe, just tried to pay with PayPal, didn't check out but I got to the "Pay Now" button without any problems. Not sure what happens if I click it though.

Make sure you understand that you can't use Sculptris Pro to create morphs since it creates new geometry whereas most ZBrush regular brushes don't.  If you plan to do morphs, you will need to distinguish between those that move and those that add.

It would have let me too, but decided not worth the risk; might cause issues with upgrade.

There's a bug in the Daz bridge to zbrush in 4.10; is there a work-around?

Also, any suitable tutorials out there (yes there are tons).

It'll take a day or so I think before you get a serial.

I imagined something like that. Sometimes you're lucky though, I bought a US only copy of Photoshop CS6 at B&H at a very low price, they did not complain, and it activated fine.

Yeah, 795 bucks is still great value. They have provided 19 years of free updates. If there's any software company deserving of you paying full price, it's these guys.

Thank you, bluejaunte--you've been so helpful! CGriver support just got back to me and said that these licenses are processed by Pixologic during their business hours, so looks like I'll need to wait til Monday. smiley

Anybody has an "invalid request parameters" when trying to activate zbrush 2018 (it's an upgrade)?

My parameters are fine and work when I go to the website on my browser.

    Thank you.

I updated my Daz and ZBrush bridges and been moving seamlessly between the two.

Sculptris Pro is a TRIP! Polygroupit is REALLY helpful especially for creating surface zones for clothes as well! Coolness. Have not played with Projecting primitives yet but that seems like a quick way to make some props. :)

Dropped and downloaded. One of these days I've got to find the time to learn this - I grabbed 3.1 from DAZ back in 2008 on a 50% discount and have been updating it ever since. In 2008 I had no clue on 3D and was pretty much grabbing anything that discounted to 50% or greater.blush

Yes, I think I've opened it more for checking issues reported on the forums than for actually using it.

Oh Richard. That's such a shame. It is SUCH a powerful modelling tool. :(

I have an embarrassingly large number of tools I've hardly used. Oddly, the 2D stuff suffrs less than the 3D.

I made my first morph target last night. Morphing was eazy. Import was not as easy (getting the body to show up instead of the eyelashes). Export was easy. Moving the model around, not so easy. Still, the modeling itself is quite fun!

Once you get the hang of things; you'll be fine. It took me some time to figure stuff out; I'm still learning.

Guys,I don't know if this is related, but I can't send to zbrush 2018, DIM don't recognize it, and Daz3D crash. I uninstalled ZR8 version (with GoZ) and installed version 2018 witch Daz not support.

Does anyone have this issue? Should I uninstall Daz too? (4.10)

  • Richard HaseltineRichard Haseltine Posts: 104,251

Uninstalling won't help if the issue is DIM not seeing the path. You could try telling DIM it's Zbrush 4, but setting the path to ZBrush 2018. I haven't downloaded 2018 yet, so can't say if it will work - however, others have reproted that theya re working OK with the new version.

  • xmasrosexmasrose Posts: 1,408

I have Zbrush R7 and ZBrush 2018 installed and have no problem sending through GoZ from Daz Studio (Genesis 3, for example) to ZBrush 2018.

Did you re-install GoZ through DIM ? It seems (according to the Product Library) that you can also do a manual install.

Open ZBrush 2018, make whatever you want and send it to DAZ Studio through GoZ. Does that work ?

    I did, not working

I coudn't find maual for manual installing, but I found it. in "C:\Users\Public" there was no "DAZStudio64" folder.Although it don't recognize zbrush, but If i run zbrush then hit send to zbrush it will works.

    Thanks for answering
