And a sort of complete version of that previous render.

Afraid it's still not quite the same quality others can render to, because A) my hardware is fairly middling (fitting six G3/G8 characters, including some with HD morphs, onto a 4GB graphics card was not particularly easy) and B) I'm not that good at this in the first place, but hopefully it's not too dire.

Matt, it's not the technoligy that creates the art. Your image is very well done, with good use of resources. But the art is in how well you brought it all together, with endearing characters, poses and expressions.

    Great job! yes (Frank)

Nonetheless, by the third time that the scene drops to CPU when it's only a short way in and I have to go through the process of deciding which textures I have to shrink yet again so that it can actually render to something close to completion in something close to a reasonable time without throwing all of its toys out of the pram if any other background process does anything, and even then I have to watch my card take twice as long for half as many samples as others... by that point, I am somewhat aware that the hardware isn't exactly helping me turn out the final quality I would like.

Thank you so much. I am having fun with her. She's been one of my favourite Mythical Creatures for far too many years than I would care to admit too.

Question, does she have textures for human legs?

Question, does she have textures for human legs?

Regrettably no - if you want the full "scaly" gorgon materials, they cut off halfway down the torso, and there are no leg textures in the installed files.

It's a shame, as I've already canonised legged gorgons in the main universe I'm writing (actually using RawArt's Lekkulion as a base) and I would have liked to experiment with using the materials on those models (seeing as G8F and G3F materials are largely interchangeable, except with all the weird UVs Daz used for the G3 base characters, forcing me to do map transfers to make them work with things like Skin Builder... gah).

Not a regretted purchase though, as the resources will however be useful to me in other ways, but it might make them less useful to others.

The Medusa Maker set can use ANY characters in your library, and therefore can have human legs.

Was asking about the Gorgon package. I know Medusa Maker does everyone.

    The sads. :(

The Laima doesn't have leg textures now this.

Looks like I'll still be using the Ixcuina Serpent Addon for my snake girl needs...

I for one appreciate the Medusa Maker as I know it is outside the norm of what you normally do, so thank you! yes

Rawn, I am really enjoying both products. I like them just the way they are. Thank you for making them.

Well, I can't speak for Psyckosama, but my observation would be that the scaly skin you've done does make for a far nicer gorgon than one with normal human skin - however, a tailed gorgon in something I eventually hope to turn into an animation project would be an exercise in masochism (the kinematics involved in having a long chain of bones flow smoothly over multiple points of contact are insane), so it's not an entirely invalid reason to lament that the skin  can't be used on a legged gorgon.

But don't get me wrong. I'm still having a lot of fun with the product.

Anyway, as I have been having fun, a couple of officers looking to have a word with a recently re-awakened Daemon Lord about the fact that however he might thought things were done half a millennium ago, you're no longer allowed to go around kidnapping people...

    Hello All,

I know I am a bit late hopping on the Medusa Render Roster.  But this was an immediate no-brainer buy for me being a huge fan of Medusa from the get go.  The trouble was that I had a hard time looking for a good figure to use for Medusa.  I wanted one that was strong looking, but also attractive.  Having had worked with both "The Bride" and "Rochelle" characters together before I tried them again.  The Bride's body is heavily muscled for a woman, but still is with proportions to look feminine.  The skin from Rochelle has a horror / erie like undead discoloration to it along with some nice strategically placed HD veins which DO protrude from the skin.  Rochelle's face was too pretty and The Bride's face was not quite what I was looking for.  So looking through my library, I came acros Sydney.  I figured that in the past with most of my renders of Sydney coming out too masculine I tried her for Medusa.  So with a mix of The Bride's body, Rochelle's skin, and Sydney's face, this was the result:

I have to say that I was impressed with this when the render was done.  Exactly what I was looking for.  Sydney as Medusa looks VERY strong and authoritive, but there is a good amount of beauty to her as well.  Do I think she's hot?  ...Absolutely!

    Thank you.

Yes, this one came three different characters, not including the Medusa creator itself.

The outfit is Genesis 2, "Dark Elf Enchantress"

I think I achieved what I wanted with her as I wanted her to look strong, but also attractive. The first time I came across a 'pretty' Medusa was in 2010's Clash of the Titans.

She's very beautiful, but she looks soft too.  I wanted a stronger look and Sydney is a pretty strong looking woman.  BTW, not sure if you noticed, but she has snake eyes as well.

I finally picked this up yesterday and wanted to say thank you for the great product! I really love the detail on the tail textures and how it blends with the human skin.

The character in this image is the base Medusa figure with masculine morphs and textures.

    Cool stuff

  • I learned something. I loaded Mrs Chow then added the tail and snake hair to her from the Medussa Maker but when I tried to select a texture and add it all I got was a black undetailed tail, so tried the textures from the Medussa Gorgan which worked ok saved and quit. Then later when I went back thought try different version tact so this time from Medussa Maker loaded the full character version then with that selected I added Mrs Chow and I was able to use all the textures :) So I gotta remember select Medussa character first then add what ever G8F I wanted and not the other way round like with other previous Gorgon snake characters :) She's cool btw Couple of test renders of a scene trying to work out may completely change it all ain't deided where I'm going with it. Also on Mrs Chow/Medussa I used the Fantasy Skins For Genesis 8

Hope this isn't too bad of a thread necro, but are there any more pose presets available for the medusa's snakes? I count one with Medusa Maker and two more with Medusa Gorgon. And while the snakes respond to IK well enough, I'm not 100% sure I want to always be using IK to pose them.

Also, here's a legged gorgon boy sneaking around. Rendered with pwToon, because that's what's been sparking my imagination lately.
