  • You would need the textures as image files, then reapply them in the Surfaces pane in DS - assuming the surface groups are still there (if not you may need to use the option in ZBrush to import surfaces/materials as groups, then possibly use the Geometry Editor in DS to select each group and create a Surface from it - I've not used ZBrush for a while and I'm not sure how it is handling surface/material groups).

    1) How have you saved your textures and to where?

    2) How have you exported your model from Marvelous Designer and with what options?

    3) Which version of ZBrush do you use?

    4) Do you use a 3D modeler program, which one and version?

    5) You say it has fur. How was the fur done? Did MD make the fur?

Let's get these things answered first. One last one: what are you trying to do in ZBrush that you are trying to work with textures in it?

  • First of all, when exporting from MD make sure to export *with* textures by checking UV coordinates and save texture with zip in export options.

Not sure how much you've edited the mesh by detailing in zbrush but chances are you've changed the original by a bit and that may have destroyed your UVs and they need to be redone with zbrush or other modelling program, depending on which program you use, I'd look into some search on this topic with specifics what you need.

IF you've done everything right and Daz is still not showing any surfaces, maybe, just maybe polygroups are still there and you can pull surfaces from there. You can check this by activating geometry editor and check your mesh, select polygroup(s) and create new surface from selection. Mind you, if you've joined everything in zbrush you'll have to separate at least polygroups first for this to be possible.

  • We really need a bit more informtation, hence Cris' questions.

One thing to try - select the imported OBJ, then in the Surfaces pane's Editor tab click the importmOBJ's name in its list, and finally switch the Viewport mode to UV - that the sphere icon next to the button for picking the current camera or view. Do you see a flattened wireframe of your model, or just a blank square? This is checking that your model is UV mapped, needed for applying textures.

hi ok iam using zbrush 2018

and iam trying to add fur to my jacket in zbrush

  • You mean fibremesh? You coudl try exporting just the fibremesh hair from ZBrush, using the original Marvellous Designer version of the model for the outfit. We reallyt do need a lot more details of the steps you are following, and what happens, if we are to help.
