Another week, another 8 character. I'm glad Genesis 9 hasn't come along yet, but this is starting to get a little silly.
Why do you feel like it's starting to get silly?
As someone else stated in another thread this isn't pokemon, got to catch them all.
If you like it you buy it, if not, you skip it.
I for one like to have as many options as possible.
With one caveat, the quality remains high and we don't get another Dain 8 bundle misshap where the clothes aren't usable. I have only 1 outfit installed but can't use it because of the quality and thinking of uninstalling until I have time to fix it or they release a fix for it (sstarting to think it won't happen).
For me the Jonathan bundle looks great as I am making a VN in the spy world so a lot of what the bundle contains fits for me.
The bundled stuff looks like the same quality we were seeing for M3 and M4. Can't they make suits that don't look like they are filled with air?
As for the guy himself, he looks okay, but I have others that are close enough, and I rarely use males.
Says for a limited time. I prefer end dates. Anyone have a clue how long Jonathan might hang around??
I don't know why I keep buying males when I rarely use them, but I will end up getting this one just because I think Kai is really hot! The bundle looks decent but the tuxedo jacket looks like it's made out of thin T-shirt material or something. Dforce male clothes look weird to me.
I would have preferred a female, (or better yet, Cat 8) but as far as males go, I think Kai for Jonathan is the best looking male of Gen 8! I've never really liked the looks of most males since M4 but now I'm looking at Hinkypunk's other males and realize that I really like a lot of them, and some I own and have never rendered! Time to start rendering more guys!
I know what you mean, I am still using Genesis 2 male based characters for when I need them.. While on the other hand I have pretty much got every iteration of the female characters.. lol
The outfits that come with the bundle finally let me put my finger on what bothers me about so many pants: they lack a crease. It's fine when jeans or sweatpants don't have them, but any kind of slacks or dress pants definitely need a crease to look right. The Bouncer and Trading Floor outfits aren't perfect, but they remembered that dress pants get a crease.
Also "soldat" means "soldier", not "pensioner" or "thug".
The characters and hair assets in the bundle are pretty nice, though.
I would get this bundle since I can always use things for this genre, but the lack of detail, especially in the clothing really turns me off. I love dforce, but it seems that I can't have draping and details together with most of the latest dforce clothing that has been coming out. Dane was the same way IMO. I want to like the Monte Carlo suit since I have need for a good tux, but it's so bland and smooth.
I cannot afford him but am debating grabbing the HD cheap while I can in case I get him in the future
Totally agree there's no "threads" to it. Which makes it seem rather limp.
His skin looks pretty good. I would've preferred a more distinct head morph. I'm happy to get a male, but he looks like G8M with a minimum of dial morphing. He's like a SIMS. He will definitely need his HD Add-On, but a man with an HD face that wrinkled should have smooth featureless HD hands? With a choice of Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig---all great character faces---why give us Vanilla McBean? But Redz and HinkyPunk's characters look good. And Redz' hair is a useful addition. Secret Service Hair continues the male Pro Bundle tradition of hair with maximum ear clearance (and no ear height morph).
Although the tuxedo's shoulders seem to keep their shape and points (unlike most other male suits), I wish Mada had been asked to make the tuxedo because the included one exhibits the same "I don't know how to make a collar or a lapel or a crease in trousers" issue that has plagued several Daz Originals suits. Like others have said, dForce makes men's suits look like they're made out of polyester. I don't have much use for a retro spy or retro spacesuit. So, the 60's private eye outfit will be the only one I can see using.

The dForce Hair of the bundle is really good, but the quality of the cloth is poor.

Fun fact: It costs less overall to buy the bundle and the HD add-on, than just the bundle without the add-on.

I'm thinking I will learn rigging with the Tux outfit.
I really want it to work but as you guys stated it's lacking some important details.
I think this is the clothing item where I will learn to weight paint for it to look properly.
Maybe even model in a crease for the pants if I can't do that from rigging and weight mapping.
That's because with the Pro Bundle and the HD addon, you have two new items which results in an additional discount.
All these new official G8 characters, but yet there is still no G8 male alternative to Teen Josie.
In the Mafia (both the American and the original Italian variety), the term for entry-level members -- particularly low-level gunmen or thugs -- is 'soldato', the Italian word for 'soldier'.
Using the French word rather than the Italian is a little odd, but perhaps the designer was thinking of the Corsican Mafia, who operate in France.
The promo art definitely seems to be pushing that cannon fodder vibe, disposable bad guys for James B-- ... I mean Jonathan ... to shoot his way through.
I purchased Jonathan just for the Kai character as I like more 'middle eastern' looks. Kai is great, Jonathan is not my thing as I feel his face lacks detail and his body is non descript - however his skin is better than most so not complaining. I appreciate all the male additions (but with a few exceptions) feel many are now looking too similar and we could do with younger characters.
Hmm... I am not sure if this is the final price for me? I am PC+ member and had a banner with EXTRA 20% OFF ... so is 34.01 the final price?

Finally a male main-character with a relatively normal body. So, what do the PA's do with it? Ofcourse, make it ridiculously overmuscled again!

The character himself looks great, but there's really not much in the way of incentive to buy when compared to past incentives. I'd really have to love love love OMG NEED him to buy without more incentive...and the stuff that comes with him is just...more disappointing menswear. I'll pick the character himself up at somet point.
I totally can see the similarities to Christian.
I love Kai too but I thought he looked British rather than Midfle Eastern. For some reason I pictured an English accent coming out of him whatever his background was. Actually, now that I think of it, he looks a lot like a teacher I used to have a crush on!
@JUJU that is the price I received as well. Also PC+ and had the 20% off too. Of course, not what the total was after I filled the cart! They suck me in everytime.
