Make a face from photo reference with shapes keys

Hello,

I'm would like to ask some help because I have a lot of difficulties to get a face from a photo. I tried to use the Face Generator but I never get a good result with it, and I don't have the premium version of it so I guess it's less powerful.

I tried using shape since I have Genesis 8 Female Face Head Morph and also the FaceMorph Collection for Genesis 8, but I don't manage to get a good result. I'm working on a Doctor Who scene, and I'm working actually on the Clara Oswald Character.

The result I get for the moment is nowhere to look like Clara Oswald, and I wanted to know if some of you have a good experience making characters from photo references, I usually just change some minor things to get the character I want, but I never really worked with photos. Does there's any process I should follow to get a good result ?

Thank you very much for the time you will spend answering me.

Have a good day and happy new year

  • I've never had any sucess using any of the face generators or morph products although if you don't mind spending some money Sangriart's Clara Oswald is pretty good across at Rendo

If it's too much you could wishlist it, sometimes her stuff is discounted

What you want to use is FaceGen.

I made al ittle composite of her face from the front. I'm not having any luck finding a profile shot however. Do you have one?

If you are using morphs to create characters you at least need 2 photos - front and 3/4 to cover more angles. Also the camera focal length etc affects how the face would look like. The same goes for lighting and texture. You are almost there, maybe you need a texture with a different skin tone and brow shape. Texture makes a whole lot of difference

This is the result with no profile source images.

    Example

    265 x 320 - 160K

This is pretty good. If the OP has FaceGen, with some adjustment the result would be pretty good as long as the texture from the neck down matches the face skin tone.

You may have better luck with finding a premade character that is of a similar look to your inspiration and making adjustments to get her closer to your liking.
