The last render I made didn't work out so wanted to try and squeeze a quick one in this evening before the weekend was over. Didn't have a good idea to start with but looked at the list of textures from the 2021 thread and the characters in my library and found a match so we can now add some Beethoven to the thread!

There's probably an easier way, but this was all I could come up with.  If there is a way to do all that in Daz, that would be really neat!

I found the product I had in mind, but it's not exactly what you did contrary to what I though:

Ah, I think I remember seeing that product now that you mention it.  You're right, it doesn't do exactly the same thing, though it does look really cool!

Here's my entry!  I went with "stone" (sorry it's another long story, I guess I've been in a writing sort of mood lately).

    Cozy Hideaway

The princess yawned and stretched. How long had she been asleep? An hour? Two? She looked at the light shining through the old stained glass window of the abandoned library, showing clearly all the dust and dirt that had accumulated over the years. This was her favorite place to visit (to hide, really) when all the diplomacy, lessons and other boring bothers of her life got to be too much for her. The old stone lion warrior statue, somehow still undamaged, was the perfect place to climb up and take a long nap, away from everyone.

The princess sighed. It was time to go back, and come up with some excuse for why she had been gone for so long. She slid down from her perch in the lion’s solid arms, and straightened her dress. As she left, she turned to make sure she hadn’t forgotten anything (once she had gotten in a lot of trouble for losing her necklace there). As her eyes fell on the lion statue’s face, the princess once again could have sworn she saw movement there, just the slightest flutter of its eyes. It happened almost every time, like the statue was watching her leave. But that was ridiculous. She chided herself for her silly imagination, and stepped back outside into the sunlight.

    Rendered in Daz Studio Iray.

    Postwork in Pixelmator Pro.

    No AI used.

I had another idea in mind, around stone, but I didn't have the motivation for a 'let's put the VRAM to test' scene, so here a simple, peaceful Dawn over Kyoto, with Hanako 9 wearing a yukata.

I textured the yukata with the beautiful silk from the Japanese Portrait Studio Bundle and kept it as silk (I would have prefered a kimono but the one I have for G9 is a 'western' design, part of a lingerie set and would definitely no give the same mood to the render cheeky).

So, you guessed it, the theme is clothes.

No real story, just a some ideas thrown at the wall (see the gallery) because I mainly wanted a portrait using Old Kyoto as a backdrop.

    -----------

Just lovely Elor... that would be for APRIL = Cloth... well done indeed.  I love the patterns of Oriental fabrics.  You picked the perfect pattern to go with the scene.  Ahhh.. for some quiet time.  I could use it this week... busy busy... lol  Thanks for joining the fun!

Ok.. got mine done somewhat early... It's not the last of the month yet.. right?  LOL

I chose March = FUR for my artwork... mostly cause I wanted to use stuff I'd not used before .. hence the environment and Beagle.  (I know not a cat... but I've created LOTS of cat artwork!)

    ENJOY!

A lovelly render and story to go with it :) I'd say you shouldn't feel the need to be apologetic for adding a little story snippet to the submission - it certainly adds a cool bit of flavour to the scene :)

That's a happy little pup! :) Looks like he's enjoying the view from that window and the room is big enough for a little game of fetch later. He's certainly living the dream life :)

Ok, for Textures, for Februray, we have ... Poor little Sickboy (and kitteh!) with two horrible magneisum tablets ... supposed to be chewy in texture but actually kind of chalky, semi-crunchy, and claggy - yuk, yuk, yuk (apparently no-one likes them!):

Me too, and that picture (absent kitteh) is a bit of a life study  2 weeks languishing in hospital! Fortunately only the last 4 days or so were taken up with those ****** magnesium tablets!

Thank you very much!  I'm so glad you like the story, too, and that's a great way to describe what the story is supposed to be - just a bit of flavor!!! ^_^

For the 'randomness' challenge; the pictures within pictures theme.

She had done some posing for Professional Pinup Photography magazine's ongoing 'The Pros at Work' series, and this was the result.

Perhaps the connection is somewhat weak. But for this month I'll go with 'JUNE = Wood' (instrument). 'NOVEMBER = Animal' would certainly work as well. At least I stick to the previously identified pattern.

I had a really hard time picking just one prompt, I liked so many of them!  But in the end, I went with "animal" (is anyone really surprised?).

    The Confrontation

The two warriors stood rigid as statues, staring each other down fearlessly. In a moment, the lasers would automatically blink off, no longer sensing movement, and they would have only 3 seconds to get to each other before they lit up again. The determination in their eyes pierced through the darkness between them. This battle would be legendary. For it would decide their fate.

The winner would get the ham and cheese sandwich the stupid human dropped.

That'll be an epic, and very loud, battle I imagine! My money is on the dog - they look full of nervous energy and have that psychotic glint in their eye. Not sure the cat is ready for that amount of chaos and fury!

I totally agree, I'm convinced that a pack of angry enough chihuahuas could bring down an elephant!  Those things are adorable, but they can be absolutely FIERCE, lol!!!
